A small guest house ideal for Carnival visitors since it is in the heart of the action. It is ideal for the Caribbean who wants to shop in Trinidad since it is easy for transportation to the city. The rooms have most amenities and the prices are adequate for those who have a budget to keep. It is close to...

we were a walk-in guest here recently, and i must say the room is poor, it is desperate for a make over. cant full the bathtub, water keeps running out, whole wash room is flooded when using the shower, no a/c remote. room is very small like a dorm quality not a guesthouse. after frequent visits to alicia's i was...

Stayed at La Calypso for two weeks away from Barbados. Easy access to the town, restaurants, taxi, bars and supermarkets. We really enjoyed to walk about. It would provide cheap prices but not at all. The room was always fresh and clean when we came home from town and the staff is very friendly. - April 2013

We really enjoyed to stay at this guesthouse - the room was fresh and clean. New matress in the bed and the sheets were fresh. We even had a little balcony. Good location to the bars and restaurants in the Avenida. We started the day at 7.30 with a little morningwalk to QPS, where we bought fresh coconuts to drink....

I stay here thus far whenever in town for Trinidad Carnival and have to say while some of the staff leave a lot of be desired in way of intelligence, the manager is the BEST (Merle) and a big reason I keep coming back because Trinidad is notorious for horrible customer/tourist service. I plan group and individual trips to Trinidad...

I had a single room, was very tiny with the bed taking up most of the space. The good things: cable tv, location, there is a small area facing onto the street like a patio, but enclosed by iron grille, so you have the feeling of being outdoors but with safety.Security seems good, you have to be buzzed in. There's...

The La Calypso Guest House (868-622-4077) 46 French Street in Woodbrook neighborhood, Port of Spain, is located in an area which appears safe, about a block from a grocery store, and three blocks from Ariapita street which has restaurants and food vendors of all prices and types, and several popular, safe bars. The rooms are spartan, but clean, a little...
