We changed hotels after Trinidad's Carnival to be closer to town and to relax. The hotel staff was really great about letting us check in early so we could take a much needed nap. The rooms were neat and the beds were very comfortable. I was very impressed that they had low flush toilets in the rooms to conserve water. The hotel is located very close to the Queens Park Savannah and Ellerslie plaza which had places to eat and shop. The complimentary breakfast was great with a mix of local options and continental breakfast, my favorite was the cornmeal porridge and the Saltfish Accra. We ate at both the Tiki Village and Kava and the food was delicious but be careful spicy means SPICY!!!. The Tiki Village is on the 8th floor and had a great view of the city and the sea. Overall the staff was very nice and accommodating our entire trip. Bonus there is a microwave, washer dryer and water cooler on the 3rd floor which was a great convenience. I will definitely be back to this establishment.

My husband and I stayed at the kapok hotel on our repatriation to trinidad to complete the state supervised quarantine. It was expensive but it was the cheapest out of all the hotels offering the quarantine, and the quality of the hotel was well worth it. The bed was huge and comfy and the pillows are the comfiest hotel pillows I've ever slept on. The TV with cable was great and the outside terrace we could use for fresh air is a god send. The room is spacious and was very clean.

The staff are all very helpful and they must be run off their feet, as well as putting themselves at risk to serve us all. Bless them.

The pool looks nice and inviting but we cannot use it which isn't the hotels fault its just the rules, the grounds are well kept and has some nice comfy outdoor furniture for sitting out and having a drink.

The room service has been good and the few bits of food we have ordered from the kava restaurant have been decent however a little pricey so we have ordered food from outside.

Our room included breakfast and the breakfast was really quite substantial, hot omelette or scrambled eggs and sausages or quiche etc, plus toast and jam, plus a yogurt piece of fruit, muffin or cake and a fresh juice, cant ask for more.

Under the circumstances the hotel has provided an outstanding service and I would reccomend it to anyone wishing to stay here in the future (hopefully under better circumstances)

Its not 5 star but its clean comfortable and has wonderful staff who are helpful.

Had another wonderful stay at the Kapok hotel in Port-of-Spain Trinidad! This is a cosy family-owned boutique hotel with all the amenities one would need for a comfortable and secure visit to the southern most isle in the beautiful Caribbean. The staff is very friendly and welcoming. The included buffet breakfast in the atmospheric Tiki Village restaurant located on the top floor is a real bonus and offers a delicious taste of local fare (smoked herring, fried fish, pumpkin.. to name a few). One can also sample the extensive Asian fusion a la carte menu for lunch or dinner. It’s all good! Didn’t get the chance to try the more casual Kava restaurant (Pizza, burgers, seafood) on the ground floor but I have only heard good things. Above all, this hotel offers good security and is centrally located on the north west side of the picturesque Savannah with easy access by car to all major points of interest. We will definitely be back!

My experience was with the Kava restaurant. Prior to the covid lockdown, I went there and ordered two (stone) oven baked pizzas and after reopening, I had their lamb burger. The pizzas were great, service efficient and staff polite. I felt like I hit the jackpot when I was able to freeze and revisit. Now the lamb burger …. I should do a review just for that. It was perfect in every way. Not many people can do a good lamb burger and maintain that unique flavour of lamb with the perfect cook time and warm bun. That bun had to be baked in house.

The hotel is very comfortable. From the Check IN, I could tell that my happiness and satisfaction was priority. The check in attendant made sure I was aware of breakfast times and the availability of convenience shopping. The Breakfast was also really good and the restaurant staff were also very helpful, warm and accomodating. My room was very comfortable and quiet.

My check in was very quick possibly the fastest I have done. Initially I thought the room seemed small but it provided me with enough room to very freely move around. I think the bathroom is still a little small. The view from the room is ok but it does not have anything particularly pleasant.

I like the location to the Savannah it made for beautiful views from the Tiki Restaurant. I was not particularly impressed with the breakfast on Sunday but someone else may like it. It also offers less of a variety in their buffet.

It is about a 5 to 10 minutes walk to the Savannah and the 'Magnificent 7'.

The staff were extremely helpful and assisted me with ensuring that I completed all the tasks I wanted to. I also think the Lobby is quite beautiful.

I honestly only think that there are a few minor improvements to be made to paint over a few rust spots or replace a few door knobs.

First time staying in Trinidad and choosing to stay at Kapok was the best decision I made.

From my initial correspondence/ questions about the hotel, getting to/from, arranging picks up, cost etc. were professionally handled by Margaret- Ann. On arriving, from the Security guard to the Front Desk Agents (Kimberly especially), Food + Beverage Team, Housekeeping, were all very courtesy and willing to help. Wish I had collected everyone's name, but this would be too long of a review.

I enjoyed the view from the Tiki Restuarant, also the complimentary breakfast. For picky eaters, there was something for everyone. Also, what I enjoyed about the breakfast, was its taste, presentation, and it was changed daily.

The room which I was checked into, was very clean, neat, comfortable, provided all the basic amenity for a quick visit. Everything worked as should.

I ate all meals at the Hotel, the food was great, I felt safe, welcomed, and the Hotel was in great condition for the Rate I paid. No complaints EXCEPT that I didn't stay longer.

It's my intention to return and stay here with my family. Thanks to the entire team of Kapok for making this stay a great one. Keep up the amazing work.

Was very disappointed with my stay there. I stayed there for carnival paid $500 a night the least the could do was have hot water. I had to take showers in cold water even when they came to fix it the guy could not he went to get someone else they said it was fixed it less than 2 mins later it was cold again. Complained to the front desk several times and also when I was leaving they did not do anything about it. Ridiculous! Would not be staying there again.

Excellent service. I was greeted by the security Aaron who politely reminded people to sanitise at the door. Then I was greeted with Paulina’s beautiful smile and phenomenal service. I’m very particular and tend to ask to many questions (so my husband says ) but she answered them without hesitation. The room’s view was BEAUTIFUL!!!. Seeing the Savannah and the ocean. You can’t get that anywhere else. Housekeeping was also excellent . My room was kept clean. The reason why I chose here was the salt water pool. I love to swim and it’s less damaging to the skin and hair.

Thank you Kapok Hotel.

The location was very close Canadian Consulate. The Kapok hotel was very quiet during my stay. My only drawback was that only breakfast was available during my stay. Perhaps they do offer other meals, but during my 4 days stay it did not happen. The WiFi in the hotel was very stable with good upload and download speed

Tiki Village on the 8th floor, where breakfast was served and KAVA located on the ground floor. Usually one or both restaurants are open for lunch or dinner.
