Good location but hotel could be better. A little run down and pool area and outside lounging area looked trashy. I guess you get what you pay for. And it would be nice if they could get some new coffee makers in the room. Room service was good.

If you want to be on the beach and pay a reasonable amount, Sibonne may be right for you. This was our second stay. The first being in 2007. We had a partial ocean view room for $215. In 2007, the same room was $165. If you were to have a partial ocean view room, I would recommend rooms Morning Glory Room 209 on the west wing, and Portulaca 215 on the east. The rooms next to it would not be bad either. The further into the complex, the narrower the views. With that said, I would not hesitate to reserve a “Garden Room.” Cheaper with the same amenities. Sibonne is one of the oldest established hotels along Grace Bay area. There are 30 rooms. You can reserve on-line. There are three seasons with different rates for this boutique hotel. In the center of Sibonne is a well-cared for garden with flowering plants. It presents a superb ambiance of what the Caribbean—in this case the Atlantic—should be. Having a partial ocean view room does get you on the second floor. The ceiling is higher with nice fan over the bed. Most rooms have a micro-wave, TV and is smartly decorated with tile floors. The bathroom is doable. Some of the negatives we found is the Wi-Fi—and even the TV—can be extremely spotty—particularly at night. The office closes at 10:00PM, and so does the ice machine. The staff is friendly but not overtly. We are not fans of the key and large number attached to it. If you happen to lose your key, everyone knows what room you are in! I did not find anything wrong with the bed. No back aches for me. My wife, though, did not like the bed. The pool is small—a round pool—and there is no hot-tub. I did enjoy the pool though. It isn’t heated, but the water in December is refreshing. I was one of the few people to use it. There are cabanas on the beach. The lounge chairs were not, however, the most comfortable. Then, too, they were not washed. Every day though, someone came out to open up the umbrellas. Unlike other resorts, the beach was left in a natural state—seaweed and all. The Bay Bistro Restaurant is located in Sibonne. What we understand they are separate businesses. Ironically, Sibonne does not take American Express, but the restaurant does. We found several dishes at the Bay Bistro that we highly enjoyed. My wife liked the salad with hard boiled eggs and added delicious grilled shrimp. I thoroughly enjoyed the “medium-rare” cheeseburger with grilled onions and bacon. This restaurant has a superb ambiance overlooking the turquoise waters. A walk to the Salt Mills shopping center took about fifteen minutes. We enjoyed, though, walking that wonderful white sand beach every day. How incredibly beautiful the turquoise waters and beaches are. The Graceway Gourmet supermarket is but a few minutes away by car. We also enjoyed going to Turtle Cove and having a meal at Mango Reef. My wife enjoyed the vegetable fajitas, and I the Curry Vegetables with chicken. Close by is a superb snorkeling at “Smith Reef.” I thought the chicken fajitas at Somewhere Café to be really good too. Although, we did not like the $1.00 water charge. There is a saying in the Turks and Caicos: “Eat, Sleep, Beach, Repeat.” Sibonne did provide a nice reprieve from the hectic life back home. This boutique hotel has its quirks, but there is a part of me that wants to go back. If you found this review to be “helpful” in any way, please press “LIKE” to let me know.

I absolutely love this shabby chic, intimate, historic (first on the beach) hotel in Turks and Caicos. I say this as someone who has stayed in Four Seasons, Sandals etc. The staff is wonderful and don't miss the restaurant on site! If you're a news junkie like I am, after turning in you can catch up with all of the major network news. Plus HBO etc. The famous Mr Grouper is also within walking distance, as is a grocer to stock your mini frig. Wonderful boutique hotel that I will return to.

I went at my usual time of year - the first week in November. Customs took awhile because several planes of people arrived in a short time on a Saturday. No problem getting a taxi and getting to my hotel. I always stay at the Sibonne which is the original hotel on the island, has less than 30 rooms and one of the best restaurants on the island attached to it. It literally takes 1 minute to walk from my room to the beach - you can't beat that! The ocean is gorgeous turquoise, the sand is soft and clean. Everyone I meet here is super nice and fun. The first night I had dinner with another couple from my area in the US...what are the odds? We had fresh lobster and it was amazing. I continued to eat at Bay Bistro for most of my trip because it was convenient and excellent. The Sibonne has updated the room decor. My room had both a small fridge and microwave. It is clean and the staff is very friendly. Couldn't always say that but this time I didn't meet one employee that wasn't nice. Never had a problem getting fresh beach towels or an umbrella. The ice machine in the lobby is a nice addition. The new manager said they are about to start selling bottled water in the office. The water is fine to drink but has a little taste of the island. That is easily fixed with a little Crystal Lite tea or lemonade. I walked about 5 miles a day on the gorgeous beach. The hotel is centrally located and is an easy walk on the beach into town to shop, eat, get groceries, etc. I always felt safe. Never needed a car except to get to and from the airport. I walked into town to visit my favorite jewelry store - Atelys. She makes really pretty pieces that will always remind you of your trip. Check her out on her facebook page or website. I decided to finally try a parasailing trip. Be careful of the salesmen wandering the beach. They tell you a price but I heard others negotiate a lower price. The trip is close by, not as high as I was expecting and shorter than stated. It is very safe and a gentle take off and landing from the boat. Check that off my list. I swam in the ocean every day and discovered that a couple of dolphins were swimming not to far from me. I didn't see them but have a cool video shot by another visitor. Yes, I highly recommend Provo and Sibonne in the off season. It is not crowded and the weather is great. I will be returning for a 5th time. So relaxing and lots of really nice people. Wifi is everywhere and free so you can communicate but cell service is pricey. When I am on vacation I want to get away so this is not a problem for me. I could still email and check social media which was enough connection to home.
