Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We are frequent visitors to the area, and love popping in to the local pubs In The area. To be fair we hadn’t been in the Butchers for some time, and decided to pop in just after they reopened from lockdown. We had a great time, they have plenty of seating inside and out. The landlord is querky, but it’s all part of the charm of this place. If you are in the area, you should definitely pop in for a pint or two. There’s a great friendly atmosphere, and the food is great too.

A definite highlight for me is that they now have Brewdog Punk IPA on tap 👌🏻💪🏻

The food was very good and we all enjoyed our meal at this quaint pub. Kids liked the burger, the lamb shank was tender, and they had plenty of vegetarian options. The staff were friendly and accommodating. The pub was spacious and comfortable. Overall we enjoyed our experience and recommend it. (We only ate dinner here so cannot comment on the rooms).

Haven’t visited this pub in years and thought it would be nice to try somewhere different on a Bank Holiday.
I was pleasantly surprised on arrival that they have provided more seating in the outside area for customers to enjoy the views.
Lovely selection on the menu and all reasonably priced. Food was fresh and very enjoyable. Drinks also reasonably priced.
Staff are extremely friendly and made us all feel welcome.
Will definitely be returning sometime soon.

We met our friends for lunch at this pub in a little village close to the spectacular scenery of the Brecon Beacons.
The pub is also a 'bunkhouse' providing 2 rooms of 10 and 8 beds so it's popular with ramblers, cyclists etc as well the local population. Inside is the rustic flag floor, stone walls and wooden furniture.
The menu offered both snacks and main meals together with basket meals which I haven't seen offered for years but loved at the time. I ordered the steak and Guinness pie with chips (£8.95) - absolutely delicious with great tasting home made chips. My husband had a curry - again delicious he said and my friend had faggots and peas which again she said was delicious so we all were very satisfied with our meals and my husband also said that his pint was the best bitter he's had in a long time.
We'll definitely call again.

Visited this pub recently & i have to say the landlord is extremely rude to customer's. No welcome. Kids sprawled all over the seating taking up valuable seating space & the toilets smell damp & mouldy. 💩👎
