From the time we arrived our hosts welcomed us, cared for all our needs and were very friendly.
The hotel was spotless and well presented throughout with everything a guest could need provided including, tea/coffee, yummy biscuits, bottles of water, individual toiletries, a hairdryer and even a personal refrigerator in the room.
There was a broad range of drinks served in the bar snd the choices at breakfast was exceptional and freshly cooked.
The hosts and general friendly atmosphere meant that guests snd local mixed well in the bar which also had a tv quietly on in the background for those that may not wish to interact with others ( or miss their favourite programme).
Both the shared and guest rooms were exceptionally fresh and we found the bed was very comfortable and provided us both with a good nights sleep even though I have joint problems and usually wake up several times a night.
We would thoroughly recommend this property, the hosts are wonderful, provide quality accommodation and there is free off road parking.

We had a great time at the most friendly and accomedating family run hotel. The rooms where great, very clean and had everything we needed. The breakfast very good and big, especially if you want a traditional full british breakfast. The host where super-nice and went out of their way They even offered to make a sandwich for the teenager that slept in late, and didn’t wanna get up for breakfast.
The pub dowstairs served food in the afternoon/evening and was a very friendly place to hang in the evening to get a drink and chat with local guest. We can really recommend this hotel that we think offers very good value for your money

We stayed here for the night when visiting friends that we had not seen for a while. Neil and Clare were so accommodating and catered for us to have a meal together, it was a perfect evening, we had an absolute ball and cannot recommend staying here enough. Bed was super comfortable room was exactly what we needed, enough plug sockets for a girl to Glam up and the blinds made the room pitch black, no noise from outside so we slept like a dream.
Breakfast was really good with plenty of choice, all cooked to perfection and served with a smile.
We will be back very soon, thank you.

I had a wonderful time staying at the Antelope in Merthyr Tydfil. The hosts Claire & Neil were so lovely and so very helpful. The room was so clean and fresh and had everything I needed. As well as a comfy bed, TV, ensuite shower room and towels, there were toiletries, a fridge,a dressing table, copious amounts of tea coffee and biscuits- all very clean and modern. 24 HR access to rooms. Fab breakfasts catering for vegetarians and vegans as well as meat options. Evening meals ordered at the bar and cooked by Claire- big yummy portions, with the option of eating in the bar, dining room or outside on the covered patio area. I cannot recommend The Antelope enough. and It's in a great position for travelling and getting about the region. Thank you ❤️

Stopped here for three nights during a Motorcycling weekend. I was in one of the single rooms which was spotlessly clean, very comfortable but quite compact. I had three good nights sleep.
Our hosts Neil and Claire were perfect, nothing was too much trouble for them. Breakfast, which was included was excellent, a nice choice of cereals, fruit juices, full English large of small and various other offerings including eggs on toast.
They also offer evening meals which again were first rate and very reasonably priced.
Neil allowed us to park our motorcycles in a secure yard, very welcome.
We will definitely be staying again when next in South Wales.

Fantastic little hotel, looks a bit dated on the outside but has a lovely modern interior. The hosts were fantastic and made us feel very welcome. The room was clean and comfy and even though it was above the bar there was no noise. There is a good sized car park.
Breakfast was gorgeous as was the peri peri chicken I had one evening and the wife said her hunters chicken was the best she'd had If you're into curry make sure you are here for Thursday's curry night, its fantastic.
Its a good location for exploring the Brecon Beacons and there is an excellent museum of Wales near Cardiff.
A big thank you to Neil and Claire for making us so welcome

We have just stayed there and had an amazing time, they made us feel so welcome from the moment we arrived. The rooms are spotless and smell so fresh. Neil and Claire included us in the evening in games in the bar, which made our night. The breakfast was amazing. we will definitely be going back. Thank you.

One night stay before my colleague from America and myself rode on the Brecon Beacon Railway . Claire and Neil are the ideal hosts. Nothing was too much trouble. Made very welcome from the moment we arrived. Nice rooms, I had single room with adjoining shower; my colleague had double room. Clean facilities, good toiletries. Small things make the difference like complimentary bottle of water and biscuits ,especially remembering how little we paid for our stay. Finally, the choice for breakfast was very good and the small cooked was very tasty. Thank you both for making us so welcome.

Very small rooms but very clean and tidy, bottled water, tea, coffee and biscuits provided. Plans to add bigger rooms apparently!!
One of the better breakfasts you will experience and the hosts extremely polite and welcoming. Keep up the good work and finish off with your extra room plans!!

Wonderful, good old fashion service with immaculate rooms. Would highly recommend instead of the faceless premiere Inns and Travelodge type hotels. Neil and Claire were super. They were flexible with timings and hso helpful with my old mum, who's very forgetful. The locals in the bar were also great company and very informative about an area I was unfamiliar with. I would highly recommend to anyone visiting for walking, biking.
