We have loved staying with Phyllis at Hillcrest Guest House. We haven't been back since the hurricanes, but it looks like she has actually improved it. The only drawback is that awful hill you have to climb to get up there if you don't have a car.

My girlfriend and I stayed 5 nights at the Front Suite. This spacious room had the most wonderful view overlooking the Cruz Bay harbour. Philly, the host, was extremely friendly and helpfull. The only downside is, that the continental breakfast only includes eggs and bacon.
"Nice view, needs a little stove."
"If you can, you should go for the Front Suite."
"I imagine the upstairs rooms have better views, but more stairs!"
"There is apparently one rental that has a full kitchenette and might be good for those planning to cook in most of the time."
"I would ask for the lower apartment where the owner once lived, but ask if the kitchen sink works."
