Come for the beautiful surroundings, and wonderful food but expect vocalized judgement about your dress, your language and volume, your yoga practice, the music you play in your room, and the amount of food you throw away... The retreat is fun for a few days but the yoga is repetitive (Sivananda style involving multiple savasanas during practice and the same...

Located in the ashram is a small store. I purchased a pair of pants and the seam tore the first time I put the pants on. I returned to the store to discuss a possible exchange or return. I was met with hostility. I was told the pants are "of poor quality because they come from India." Then, the manager...

The boat trip across the bay brings a whiff of adventure. The ashram is located at a beautiful site facing the ocean, with a sizeable beach length and just far away from Atlantis to not be bothered by crass commercialism. My room was small with an unfortunately loud AC unit that one was supposed to turn off upon leaving the...

This has been a very restorative experience. I highly recommend it as long as you realize you're going to an ashram with deep roots in yoga and an upholding and respect for the related traditions. Top points: 1.No alcohol or caffeine though both are within a short walk to Atlantis 2. Classes are not mandatory for vacationers 3. Rooms are...

From the moment that you board the ferry to the small island, you feel that your are in for a magical experience. Your eyes/senses are rewarded with splashes of colorful vegetation and a small waterfall gently lulling the senses to calmness. You walk up a winding path, passing others moving quietly(many are bare footed). The reception is smooth. My beach...

While my husband has meditated for many years, and was eager to experience Sivananda Ashram, I was simply "the spouse" going along for the warm weather and lovely beach! I had no desire to participate in any of the activities, but decided to accompany my husband to a beginner yoga class, and got hooked! Our teacher, Arjuna, was wonderful, patient...

The location is beautiful, peaceful, and there are a lot of opportunities on property. Workshops, classes, yoga, inspirational talks etc. Gorgeous beach and next door to the Atlantis. It's easy to go to Nassau by the Ashram ' s boat. On the flip side, the food is the same day after day after day, less than tasty, and not well...

As you mentioned, we are an ashram who rely heavily on the assistance of volunteers- known as Karma Yogis- who are dedicating their time, effort,...

I booked a 6-night Yoga Vacation Program (YVP) stay right before Christmas to escape the North American craziness and find peace in a calm, yoga-centric retreat. - And it's exactly what I found! The schedule is quite rigorous, but a welcome change of pace from my usual daily life. I genuinely enjoyed having much to do and very little to...

I have just return from my second visit at the Sivananda Ashram on Paradise Island. From the moment I step onto the dock and start up the path, I begin to feel lighter, wholer and at home. If one in merely pursuing a yoga practice....they will find it here....and a whole lot more. If meditation in a beautiful spot, both...
