We often stay in this area and struggle to find nice places to stay. This is in a lovely setting and you can tell that the owners are making a real effort Our room had beautiful views of church and across countryside. Food is really tasty. Reasonable price. Standard much higher than your average pub food. They were very accommodating...

Called at The Beaufort Arms for Lunch whilst travelling back from Dorset. The Restaurant was quite busy, nevertheless a warm welcome was delivered by the Staff. The Service was excellent and the food was very good and reasonably priced. My wife had the Dover Sole and I opted for the Beefburger etc as they had sold out of the Steak...

Our room was just fine with a good size bathroom and so all was well here. When we went for food, I could not help but notice the inexperience of the staff member to whom we first spoke in the restaurant, she seemed very unsure as what to do. Once we were at our table all went well and the...

Thank you for your comments and enjoyment of the accommodation and food at The Beaufort. Unfortunately at this time of year in particular we have to train new members of staff and in spite of training, inexperience may produce mistakes such as misplaced food bills, which we were happy to credit you for. We have never, either on that morning...

My husband and I stayed here for one night after a drive up from Cornwall. We was laying on the bed having a nap when we was awoke buy someone opening the door. It was another guess that had been giving a key to our room by mistake he was so embarrassed. The room was very clean and nice comfortable...

Stopped here for a drink because it looked very inviting on our way home. Sat out the front in the beer garden. So peaceful overlooking a church. Very quaint! Inside seemed very nice where we ordered our drinks inside the bar with the friendly bar maid. Where I live my town lacks these kind of pubs and we just so...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Beaufort is under new ownership since October 2015 and has had a vast refurbishment throughout. The rooms in the main hotel building have been tastefully decorated with rich sumptuous medieval colours whilst the Coach House has a fresh "New England" style decor. The inn oozes quality and old world charm. The food is brasserie style with a Mediterranean twist and you can see the fresh fish and seafood on display in the lovely display counter at the restaurant entrance. There are 2 course lunch and evening special menus which are very good value and a full a la carte menu complemented by a vast wine list. ... more   less
