I couldn’t tell whether it was generally the people of Aberdare or the staff in particular, but really really friendly and warm.

My baby daughter caused a few issues with vomiting in the new environment but none of the staff made a fuss, no raised eyebrows. Helped me clean up and provided new bedding, warmed my baby milk up, very hospitable

Room was clean and good amenities close by

Would highly recommend

Was very impressed on arrival with receptionist young lady Rhiannon very welcoming and polite, seen many times throughout my stay went to desk needing information about the local area lady named jayne believe she was a housekeeper gave me information on places to eat and visit, some Welsh place I am unable to spell was recommended and I had the best day there. Both ladies was a pleasure to talk too and made going to the desk a pleasure, nothing was trouble for all staff especially the two ladies I dealt with through my stay.
My room was clean and very comfortable beds but what I will say is they are very dated compared to other premier inns iv stayed at, would recommend updating rooms and making them worth the money you are paying.
Staff at restaurant was helpful, food could be better, prices was dear for the quality you are getting, but customer service was at its best.
Please pass my comments on I will hopefully be returning later this year and hope to see the wonderful staff members as mentioned above during my stay. They truly are an asset to the hotel and hospitality industry.

Good location for what we needed and with good amenities near by - just across the road Asda, KFC etc. the staff were second to none and thoroughly trustworthy - my mum left her iPad there and it had been handed in by the cleaning staff and had been kept securely for when she realised she had forgotten it. We had ‘an accessible ’ room as I can’t negotiate the stairs which is in need of some TLC whilst the carpet looked clean enough there was a smell in room I couldn’t put my finger on until we went to bed. It was the actual bed that smelt of stale old tobacco and it made me wonder if the place had been renovated since our last stay. I think not now, having seen a little more of it, it is in quite desperate need of a face lift. As is the pub next door sticky tables and generally in need of TLC too. The staff were pleasant enough but the place needs some love. The breakfast was ok typical full English or continental choices, fresh croissants and bread for toast but the pancakes were very floury and the fruit which I was looking forward too was limited and obvious frozen or canned. Very little fresh just apple and pineapple with a few grapes and the red fruit mix looked like it had been their all week which put me off completely and I didn’t see anyone else eating it. Also not Kelloggs cornflakes just a cheap imitation ! Toast was good but the butter looked like it had been taken off a returned plate and popped back into the fridge, it tasted rancid. The occupants of the room above obviously had children who were running up and down until gone 11 pm and again from about 7am which disturbed our sleep unfortunately.
Overall excellent staff in premier inn but rooms need revamping, pub needs the staff to show a little more caring & love and it desperately needs refurbing.

We’ve stayed at this particular Premier Inn 4 or 5 times now, so it’s safe to say we like the location and ease of travel into the Brecon Beacons. It’s also fairly good value for money depending on dates & how early/late you book.
Unfortunately this trip was let down by the cleanliness of the bathroom. My god, as soon as you entered the room, the smell of must and urine hit you in the face. Luckily after frequent sprays with antiperspirant, we were able to mask some of it. The bathroom itself also needed a deep clean, which in a pandemic would be expected anyway. There was hair on the floor, and grime in the bath, which is a real shame as it put a downer on our stay. We would have raised this with staff, but were unsure on mid-stay cleaning procedures due to covid, and the receptionist had already told us that the hotel was fully booked for the weekend.
Room itself was fine, fairly comfortable for 2 of us and 7 year old son to stay in for 4 nights. We all slept fairly soundly, though having a heavy corridor door right outside our room meant a few inconsiderate guests slamming it at all hours, but we realise this is out of the hotel’s control.
One last thing to mention, the fire alarm went off while we were here. The staff were fairly calm and collected, though I don’t think all guests took it seriously (it wasn’t a drill!). It was about 830am, so it made for some interesting people watching in the car park!
We would return, but I really hope in the meantime that they revise their cleaning process for the bathrooms.

After a perfect evening run at Pen Y Fan and returning to the hotel to sleep, it did not actually happen at all. The first night was tough and unpleasant because of the air conditioning not working properly. I browsed their ad and see that they do offer air conditioning. The afternoon receptionist helped by lending a fan, but it did not help at all because it's so noisy and windy at night. I did not sleep at all that night because of that condition even though the windows were open. I came down to the receptionist at 2:30 am to ask for a switch of room. The second night was much better and okay after switching to another room.

Let me know the condition of the room. It does not make sense giving a ring calling me about my reservation the day before without making sure the room condition is completely ready to use and perfect for a whole night. You state in your ad saying it was for comfort but that did not happen for the first night.

Location good. Breakfast good. Bit tired & carpets need changing. Time for housekeeping to resume post-COVID now that restrictions have been lifted. You shouldn’t have to ask reception for items when you pay £80+ for a room. I would also say that WiFi could do with upgrading.

We were welcomed by kayleigh on reception and she was so helpful throughout the evening giving the kids activity packs and a little toy each she also helped finding us a corkscrew for our wine and bought it to our room. Clean and tidy room with comfy beds and all amenities you would need. The bathroom was a little tired looking but was clean and the room smelt a little damp but aired out once we opened the window (we were in room 2). We ate dinner in the pub next door it's cheap and cheerful nothing special but it's also got a good soft play for the kids £3.50 each and runs until 7pm my 2 only got 40 mins in there so a reduced price for late admission would be good. There is a large asda and aldi opposite and a Costa, Greg's kfc and domino's if you fancy dinner and breakfast elsewhere also opposite. We had a great 2 night stay.
