The Premier Inn Port Talbot Hotel garners praise for its clean and modern rooms, though opinions on room conditions vary, with some guests mentioning the need for a refresh. While the staff's warm hospitality often receives commendation, there have been some concerns regarding restaurant service. The hotel's strategic location is popular among guests for its easy access to the motorway and coast. Despite mixed feedback on dining quality and dated facilities, some travelers recognize the hotel's value. Amenities like comfortable beds and air conditioning are notable, but the dining area's cleanliness occasionally comes into question.

I stayed at the hotel for one night in April with my partner and 6 year old son. The staff member was very friendly on check in and it was a really quick and easy process. We stayed in a family room which was spacious and had ample room for the 3 of us. The room was clean and tidy and had all the amenities you need including a kettle and hair dryer. We don’t live far from this premier inn but my son likes to stay in them for an adventure so that’s why we booked. We visited Aberavon sea front which was about 5-10 mins drive and had a lovely few hours out. We will definitely be booking again soon.

Lovely staff, very helpful, clean, tidy, lots of space, basic but free wash stuff & towels. Had a disabled room as husband is an amputee at no extra cost, the facilities are extremely good, double hash parking out the front, seated shower & plenty of room around the queen size bed for wheelchair and dressing area with comfy chair.
Can’t fault them, 2 nights for 2 for around £25 a night room only. I am not a big breakfast person but hubby is, so he popped to beefeater just across way for a very reasonable full selection. Can’t wait to book again. Great value for money X

I love the Premier Inn brand and will always seek them out when travelling around the UK. I know I can get a consistently good night's sleep, in a comfortable/quiet room with a great bathroom at a great price, and they're usually paired with a pub for a great breakfast. Port Talbot was no exception - we had a perfect night's sleep.

Unfortunately I had to raise in the feedback form that the communal area (entrance/stairwell) was not kept clean - there were discarded cigarette butts that were there for the duration of our trip, indicating a lack of cleaning, and the stairwell smelled of smoke. The room though was spotless, can't complain.

Also, as an electric car owner I would have loved it if there had been some facility to charge overnight.

Although there’s a control panel on the wall plus a pamphlet on how to use it, there is no actual air con and the temperature is 25.5 degrees in the room..... it’s 21 outside????

No cooling element and cooking in the room.... why? Isn’t it the modern world?

So if you feel like you’re the kind of mug who goes centreparcs in holiday and sweats their arse off around the overly heated pool environment and says dips-hit things like: “it’s like the tropics in here” or “ it’s like being abroad”

No it’s ducking with a capital F not, it’s like cooking a toddler in the back of your shoddy car cause you wanted to get your cheap arse nails done and are an awful parent

We stayed in the extention it was lovely and clean. Very quiet and easily accessible one of the party had poor mobility so we had called early to request a ground floor room. This was duly allocated. Always worth calling ahead if you have a preference. A1 stay what more can I say!

Stayed 1 night in July 23
Good - clean room, big tv in room, easy reception check in, hotel is in 2 separate buildings , free parking but just give vehicle registration to reception

Bad - avoid the linked pub next door (beefeater) - the worst premier inn linked pub I have encountered in many years,
Slow service, many missing food items including basics such as honey, decaf coffee, etc.
Breakfast is via an ordering system.
Flys on food and around food on continental buffet area

Hotel average premier inn, restaurant very poor

A great option when you have young children, breakfast is often free for 2 children with each paying adult.
Very comfortable night sleep this time and every time we use Premier Inn.
Friendly and helpful staff.

Two friends and I stayed here last Sunday night after attending a function in nearby Resolven. We arrived at approx 11.45 PM. The man on reception was extremely efficient and welcoming. The beds were very comfortable and the tea and coffee making facilities in the room were great. Great showers and plenty of fluffy towels. In the morning we had a super breakfast with everything that was required served by a very efficient waitress. Thank you all.

I give the hotel 4 Stars, but I give the Beefeater Restaurant/Bar 1 Star, so 2* overall.

The hotel section was absolutely fine.
The receptionist was very friendly and helpful and the check-in process was quick and easy. The room was clean, cosy, quiet and comfortable, but there was only 1 set of towels, but a call into reception resolved it quickly.

However, the Beefeater Restaurant/Bar was very disappointing.
The bar looks grubby and very tired. Seats and tables have marks and the carpet is stained and sticky in places. The restaurant isn't much better. The whole place needs to be closed down and completely refurbished.
I happened to notice the food hygiene rating was 3*, which made me feel a very uneasy.
I ordered 2 drinks and both glassed had lipstick on them, so had to be re-served. The bar staff resolved the issue quickly without any fuss, but they didn't apologise once!

The cooked breakfast was chaotic and took too long to be served. What I got wasn't what I ordered and the staff never once asked if everything was OK with my breakfast. The whole concept of taking orders and then serving what was ordered is broken here. I would recommend buffet bar in front of the kitchen area, where guests can take what they want and not have to rely on serving staff getting it right every time.

I’ve stayed here many, many times over the years and this was the worst stay by a long mile. I hope someone at Premier Inn reads this review and puts in place an action plan to get this location refurbed and back up to spec.

This isn't a review for Premier Inn Swansea but for Premier Inn Baglan/Port Talbot. Trip Advisor doesn't recognise its existence.
We have stayed a few times here pre Covid and have had no complaints. However the room was smelly and the window wouldn't open so I couldn't air it. The room looked out onto a fence so was dark and gloomy. If you like nice towels then take your own as I wouldn't wipe my dog down with the ones they gave us, grey and hard like sandpaper. One coffee sachet each a day. On the second day, we returned to the room to find that there had been NO room service so no made bed, no bin emptied etc. Check in said that they were there for any needs but I wasn't going across a wet car park in my nightie (the rooms are in a separate building), at 10pm because we had run out toilet paper, this should have been picked up by room service. So not a good Premier Inn experience, it really smacked of cost cutting and the room wasn't cheap
