Detailed Reviews
We have just returned from seven nights camping and we just love coming back to this campsite. Stan, Laura & Ossian are amazing hosts and work extremely hard to make the site spotless and family friendly. The process from initial booking to receiving "checking in" instructions is simple, concise and very useful. We are a family of four with two teenage children, and if this site was unavailable, we would not stay at another in Pembrokeshire. Having stayed at other campsites, SUTS is just perfect in so many ways. We also love camp fires, and Laura & Stan provide good quality wood, charcoal, firelighters etc at a very good price. They also provide a fire pit to rent again at a very good price. The toilet, shower facilities are always immaculate and the kitchen area is excellent with access to a chest freezer, very useful for freezer blocks! We love going to the local beaches, and our favourite "Broadhaven Stackpole" is only 8 minutes away by car. If you are members of the National Trust which we are, parking is free all day too, bonus! I could go on and on with positive things to say, but I can assure you that you won't be disappointed. Stan, Laura & Ossian, keep up the hard work, your campsite is truly a special place and we can't wait to come back next year!

We’ve just returned from a fabulous week. Our family of 4 stayed in one of Stan and Laura’s yurts (made by Stan). The detail and love put into the yurt is seen throughout the campsite with your every need catered for. The campsite is small in size and very family friendly, with super clean washing/toilet facilities only shared with one or two other pitches. We enjoyed a fire outside our yurt most nights, which we often cooked over, and then when it got chilly we snuggled inside with the cosy wood burner. The location is in a stunning part of Wales and for clean, beautiful beaches it can’t be beaten. We’re looking forward to our next trip...

We stayed at Stackpole Under The Stars early October for a weekend.
Lovely campsite, spacious pitches, very clean toilet and shower facilities. Wheelbarrows to carry your belongings, washing up facilities equipped with everything you need to do dishes!
Lots of lovely walks nearby - Stackpole Inn about 2 miles away - only thing is if you want to go any further (even if just 2 miles down the road!) most taxi companies are £25 minimum to come to the area, so best off staying local or walking!

Thank you for taking the time to review, it's much appreciated and we're glad you enjoyed your stay. Yes, taxis sadly are not a cheap option around these rural parts! We have a recommended taxi company whose details are in the wash room, a little more reasonable than £25 but still not cheap!

Had a wonderful weeks stay over the half term. We are seasoned campers, having dragged our two girls out under canvas (and now caravan) since they were toddling on tiny legs. We like to see as much of the UK as possible - meaning we have never gone to the same place twice. Stackpole is making me break that "rule" as it is quite literally perfect and the surroundings so idyllic we cannot wait return.
The campsite has spacious, level pitches all around the edge of the meadow where children play freely. Each pitch has its own large picnic bench and set of waste and recycling bins. The wash up facilities are pristine and the individual shower room pods were immaculate.
The small size of the campsite means children are never out of sight and make new friends easily, great to see all ages playing different games together. The mixture of camping and glamping also adds to the atmosphere as you get a much wider mix of people, a real little community feel and so very relaxed.
Away from the site you are on the doorstep of the most beautiful places, be sure to venture in to the Stackpole estate woods (courtesy of a shortcut through the neighbouring farmer's field) you can venture as far as the coast (Stackpole Quay and Barafundle approx 1hr direct walk) through some of the most beautiful woodland and lakes. We were there at a very busy half term but the woodlands and lakes were never busy as most folk head straight for the beaches.
Barafundle really is as beautiful as everyone says, Broadhaven South also did not disappoint and we had stunning walk around the coastal path from Manorbier (great tea room sandwiches) down towards Church Doors Cove.
If you can drag yourself away from the site in the evening a trip to any of the local beaches is well worth it.
We packed our week full of different adventures but barely scratched the surface, add in the best campsite set up ever and we will be booking for next year as soon as the calendar opens!
Thank you Laura, Stan and Ossian, you should be incredibly proud of what you have created, a real piece of heaven!

Our 3 night stay at Catchpole Under the Stars was just fantastic. Laura, Stan and Ossian were the perfect hosts and pulled all the stops out to make our trip a perfect stay. Having moved our stay several times due to Covid restrictions, they couldn’t have been more accommodating and helpful. The campsite is just the right size and the safari tents are extremely comfortable as are the beds. In terms of equipment, they’ve thought of everything. The shower/toilet pods are a great idea and they’re spotless. Having stayed with Featherdown, many times, we were sceptical that they would beat their set-up, but they’ve outdone them in many ways. The location is great, very quiet and just a short drive to some of the best beaches in the UK.
Well done team, you should be proud of what you’ve done there, we’ll definitely be back for more.
Thanks again for looking after us so well.

Very highly recommended. Stan and Laura were great hosts. On arrival we realised that we had forgotten some of our camping equipment and they were very gracious is loaning us a tent. Nothing was too much trouble for either of them and they went the extra mile to ensure we had a comfortable stay.
The grounds of the site are very well kept and the site is limited to a number of campers so you have plenty of space to unwind.
As we are in times of Covid, lots of precautions have been put in place so that your stay is a safe one.

We spent a week in the pod with two dogs and had the most fabulous time, helped by the glorious weather in July. The pod and it’s outdoor area had everything we could want for a comfortable week away. Alfresco cooking on the gas two burner stove (under a canopy in case of rain), or the fire pit, or take aways from Pembroke town a 10 minute drive away. The pod has its own shower room, with electric shower, sink and toilet. The kitchen area is well equipped also with kettle, toaster, microwave, under counter fridge, sink and utensils/crockery. It’s a holiday cottage in a pod. The little on site shop provides essentials plus a bit more, very handy. Laura and Stan really create a friendly and relaxed spot to chill out. Kids on site were having a fantastic time, met some lovely people on this small quiet site. We explored plenty locally, such fantastic coast walks and beaches, favourite being the walk down the adjacent valley through the Lily ponds to Broad Haven South beach - magic ! St David’s & Solva / Fishguard / Marloes are within an hours drive, so it’s a great base to explore, plenty to see in the immediate area and lots more within an hours drive. Highly recommended !

Stackpole Under the Stars is a little gem of a campsite.
We are return visitors and just found the campsite to be very peaceful.
Facilities are all very clean and the campsite is well run by hosts Stan & Laura (who are both really friendly and helpful)
Great location for exploring the beautiful Pembrokeshire coast too with many walks and good places to eat.
The campsite itself is small, with only 5 touring pitches but very well maintained. The glamping pod is great, fully equipped with all that's needed for a luxurious camping experience.
Also on offer are 2 family safari tents and 2 yurts.
Beautiful campsite in a beautiful area.

Stayed in one of the Safari tents as a weekend birthday treat, and it was absolutely perfect. Everything you could possibly need is provided for or available on site at the little shop, and Laura and Stan were so friendly and made sure we had everything we wanted. The toilet and shower pod was better than my bathroom at home, and they have made sure every possible safety measure to prevent the spread of Covid has been implemented so I felt very secure using facilities too. The hammocks and the fire-pits are great for relaxing on site, as well as the comfy sofa (!) inside the tent. The site is close to several great beaches, as well as the Stackpole Gardens, and the local inn served up a lovely meal (book that one in advance if you can). Came away very rested and refreshed.

We got a very warm welcome from Laura and Stan. The site is set up around a field with plenty of room for children to play. There is even a toy shed filled with a mass of toys for children to use. The tree swing near the washing up area was incredibly popular.
There was a pizza night on the Thursday including vegetarian/vegan options, a great choice and Stan produced some delicious pizzas. Definitely worth trying. Also Laura's well stocked tiny shop for sweets, ice creams, bread or anything you might have forgotten.
There are facilities for washing clothes at a reasonable price, detergents and washing up liquid all provided. The shower pods were fabulous, such a clever idea. There is also a compost toilet available at the far end of the field.
We camped as a family group, the children aged 6 & 4 had a marvellous time and soon made lots of friends. You can hire bbq/fire pits and buy buckets of logs. Toasting marshmallows in the evenings became very popular with the children who were then awake enough to watch the stars appear overhead. If you have a telescope it might be worth bringing it!
There is plenty to do in the area from castles to the Stackpole lily ponds and the beautiful beaches. It is possible to walk to one of the beaches but if you're loaded up with picnics and chairs etc you'll need to drive there.
There are supermarkets in Pembroke and we ate at the Stackpole Inn which we'd recommend.
We'd thoroughly recommend this campsite for couples and families. We all had a terrific week. Thanks Laura and Stan
