If you need to unwind, then enjoy luxury glamping at our Treehouse Retreat where it’s pretty much impossible to stay wound up. Lie back and relax in our comfy chairs, chill in the huge hammocks strung between the stilts and, of course, soak amongst the bubbles in our hot tubs out on the decking. That is assuming that you ever make it out of the incredibly comfortable beds.

What a superb stay we had!
We visited for three nights, which I believe was the perfect period of time. Having gone for my birthday, my wife had kindly arranged for a happy birthday banner, balloons and more to be installed. It looked amazing.
The treehouse was beautiful and was finished to a high standard, including some lovely homemade soap and cake made by their talented cleaner!
My wife had also arranged two platters to be there for when we arrived through a recommended person. They were huge! Certainly lasted us two days (with left overs!) so don’t worry about quantity!
I would highly recommend for anyone looking to escape every day hecticness, to somewhere with no signal (WiFi is provided and is reliable), beautiful rolling hills and completely surrounded by very quiet sheep neighbours!
Thank you for our stay, we enjoyed our time with you and spent many hours in the hot tub looking at the views!
We look forward to returning one day!

From the moment you drive onto the farm you are wowed. Stunning scenery from the get go. Park the car, load up the wheelbarrow and leave all your stress behind. Enjoy the very short walk through the sheep and lambs to the treehouse. The inside of the treehouse has been decorated to a very high standard. It's cosy and luxurious and instantly makes you feel at home. The kitchen is well equipped and everything has been thought of. The copper bath is deep and fills quickly and the view is pretty special.
The complimentary Bara Brieth was absolutely delicious smothered with the Welsh butter. Yum. The bathroom is amazing and spotlessly clean. The fairy lights are a lovely addition making the living area feel romantic and cosy.
Now the bedroom. The bed was so comfy and the bedding soft and high quality. But the highlight for us was definitely the hammock. Suspended over the living area it gives great views out to the fields with plenty of faux fur blankets, throws and cushions making it super cosy. It was a privilege to be truly immersed in the tree.
Due to the design and quality of the treehouse its easy to forget you are in a tree!!! Seeing Woodpeckers, Chaffinches and Nuthatches at such close quarters high above the ground was very very special. We could have stayed there all day. Our weather wasn't great but it just didn't matter. The treehouse is toasty warm if you need it to be and there's lots of furniture outside if weather allows.
If you're looking for something unique and different then this is the place for you. Another bonus was being "off grid". No mobiles, no Internet just peace & quiet except for the comforting sound of bleating lambs. Ooh not forgetting the Red Kites!!!
We will be back. Truly a special place.

I booked a 2 night stay away in Cadwollen's Treehouse originally for two however ended up going solo. I didn’t think this was a trip I could do solo however this was the most tranquil and relaxing place I’ve ever stayed n the attention to detail was out of this world.
The treehouse has everything you need and more. I went in December the week it snowed and the setting was just beautiful and in a stunning location.
I loved all the little touches like hot water bottles, picnic baskets, flasks, glasses to use in the hot tub, cocktail kits and even a selection of drinks to buy and pay via am honesty box. Bathrobes, plenty of towels, games and books to read.
I didn’t connect to the WiFi whilst inside the tree house but there was a good signal out and about when I went for walks but I found it was so much nicer to disconnect from the world and enjoy the views and the nature around you.
The hot tub was incredible I relaxed in there drinking mulled wine and listening to music It was perfect for relaxing .
I would 100% recommend the Squirrel's Nest to anyone wanting a relaxing stay somewhere with stunning and breathtaking views. The hosts were very accommodating and friendly and nothing was too much.

Just got back from another incredible stay at these amazing tree houses. 1st was Trawscwm last November for our wedding anniversary, this tree house is in the most secluded perfect spot. The 2 hampers we pre ordered were there on arrival and the products were 5* We couldn’t have asked for a more perfect stay. Last week we stayed in Prince Llewelyn with a friend and this tree house is equally amazing! Both have not only a 5 star finish but also the personal touch such as the homemade Bara brith. The location of the tree house surround by the sheep and nature was much needed by 3 NHS workers to switch off and recharge. Just need to stay in Cadwollens to complete the set.

Cadwollen is a very special place. It soothes the soul. We had wanted to come here for such a long time and finally we made it, albeit only 2 nights, but it worked its magic as we hoped and we left with a lighter heart. It’s such a beautiful build, and is everything everyone says it is, quality shines out in every corner. The treehouse is a hug of nature, remember to thank the tree that shares the space with you, it’s just stunning. The views from inside out are just lovely to just sit and reflect, day or night, but having the hot tub to enjoy high up in the air is a special treat amongst the fairy lights, and looking back inside from outside reminds you just what a gem it is. The ewes and lambs were very tolerant of us gatecrashing their field and a shower watching them waking up in the morning is a bonus! We took a picnic and walked to find the local mound of stones on Malinaideed on the hilltop, fabulous views. We had meant to draw a route map in the visitors book to help others navigate from the treehouse through the horse to the road and along and up through the gorse, and we did a circular walk back over the hills and down to the farm entrance and back to the treehouse, but we ran out of time to draw it up, sorry to next guests! We’d have loved some little hand drawn maps with dotted lines drawn starting from the treehouse in various directions with some landmarks to follow saying how far, how long and if circular etc, so something either we’ll do some walks research for next time, or maybe they could be drawn up and laminated for visitors to go out with, something we’ve benefited from in the numerous retreats over the years which helps makes the most of the local walks and quickly gets you out into the landscape when your break time is short, but also to safely enjoy and not to disturb the wildlife or upset the livestock. We brought our bino’s and we saw a few birds come and go, not as many as the bird diary recorded had been seen at times, so next time we’ll also pack bird seed with us to fill the great bird feeder in the tree so we can spot the species that visit, maybe a few small bags could join the drinks honesty box? We ran out of time to try the fire pit, so next time! The treehouse has everything inside you need for a few special days, the bed is so comfy, the water bliss to drink, the water for showers always piping hot and the outdoor shower actually a pleasure! Braved the hammock, individually as wasn’t too sure about safe limits tho it looked strong enough for two! We made sure to bring all our food with us so we could simply let life slow down, ignore the clocks and go with the rhythm of the day! We can’t wait to find another chance to go back. It’s everyone’s bolt hole who goes, it was certainly our oasis of calm!

We had a lovely stay at Trawswm Treehouse this past weekend. Unfortunately the weather wasn't on our side, and I think it is a better space in good weather, but still the stay was very relaxing. The treehouse is furnished beautifully, and the terrace and hot tub is fantastic. We loved how secluded the treehouse is (although it was definitely a further walk than we anticipated, pack light!) and the surrounding area and included garden space (with fire pit and picnic benches) was lovely. When the sun did make an appearance, we appreciated the space to relax and have an outdoor lunch, and we loved making fires and toasting Marshmallows. We added on the pizza oven package which was ok, there were no instructions on how to actually make the pizza or how long to cook it for (only on lighting the pizza oven) so we found our pizzas came out fairly inedible! However, it still was a fun experience for us to do as a couple, but we probably wouldn't do it again. The small breakfast hamper we added was delicious, plenty for two people for two nights and really quality ingredients. We also really appreciated the little touches like fresh bread, juice, milk, butter, tea, coffee, musli, bara bryth all waiting for us on arrival. The bathroom is gorgeous and has lovely toiletries included, and we liked that there were hot tub towels and robes included as standard, as a lot of places charge extra for this. All in all, it was a lovely weekend, but hopefully, we will have a bit more sunshine so we can fully appreciate it on our next visit!

It sounds like you experienced some typical Welsh weather during your stay but I am pleased that you didn't let it spoil your time here and you were still able to relax and enjoy the treehouse and surroundings. I am however sorry to hear that you didn't have much luck with the pizza oven - we do include 3 pages of instructions about the lighting and cooking of the pizza but it sounds as though a page or two may of been missing - I do apologise. I do hope you return to stay soon when the blue skies and sunshine are out. Best Wishes, The Squirrels Nest Team

We had the most amazing stay in Caddies treehouse. We did have 4G signal but we definitely encountered no problems. Even with the difficulties of Covid (and not meeting anyone!) the owners were welcoming and friendly via text messages. The homemade extras were a lovely personal touch. The treehouse has everything you needed, including a hairdryer, pots, pans and alcohol if you run out! We cannot wait to go back for longer. (Preferably in lambing season to join Ray on a tour of the farm!)
Reading the guest book located in the treehouse was lovely, everyone sharing their amazing experience on how beautiful this place this.
We did the recommended Elen Valley walk to see the dams and the jacuzzi was much needed after!
We were very lucky with the weather and it stayed dry for us. Seeing the stars at night across the sky was amazing. I’d never seen so many!
This is truly the best place to go to get away from it all.
Thank you for such a lovely stay ❤️❤️

We were fortunate to have recently stayed at Squirrels Nest. It was a special treat for my 60th birthday; however, due to covid, our visit had to be rescheduled twice. On each occasion, Laura, the owner was happy to support the rescheduling, which we were grateful for.
The place itself is amazing, literally in the middle of nowhere. Be prepared for a 10 minute walk from the car park to the treehouse, wheelbarrows are provided to carry bags etc, but the ground is uneven and lots of gates to open & close on route.
The actual treehouse is beautiful, it has been very tastefully decorated and has everything you need. We ordered a hamper, which was filled with lots of delicious goodies and there were also lots of homemade treats which were also appreciated and added to that ‘special’ touch.
We basically spent our time relaxing on the veranda or in the hot tub, we also sat around the fire pit in the evening and walked around the adjacent fields during the day. We sat in the hot tub at midnight with a glass of fizz, watching the stars. It was an amazing experience and one I’ll never forget.
It was total relaxation, with absolutely nothing to disturb you except for the sound of sheep/lambs, a resident squirrel and woodpecker. It was everything we hoped it would be plus more !!
Relatively speaking, it was quite an expensive stay; however, for a special occasion, it couldn’t be beaten and the memories will stay with us for ever. We would have no hesitation on returning or recommending it to others.

What a joke, went to stay there for 2 nights whole place was surrounded by ewes with lambs noise was really bad. 50 at least in our field and the next. Spoke to John who couldn't have cared less. Cocky attitude, refused to refund. Honestly once John and Laura have got your money its theirs. Utter joke, their website has them all smiling and laughing with their kids. But it's ok for them to put a-load off ewes who are protective of their new born lambs around our 8 month year old. There was no way you could stop there for 2 nights and have a peacefully stay, sheep were even in our fire pit. we didn't even unpack the car we left. John stated "we wouldn't get our money back NOT A CHANCE" I told him we would just take him to court he laughed saying he's dealt with it before. Also the place we stayed over looked their farm. whoever took the photos for their website took them well. All I can say is these guys have some front and John just full of himself.

Dear Sean, Thank you for your feedback. It is very disappointing to read this review. It is clearly displayed on our website and across all our social media channels that Squirrels Nest is on a working farm. The ewes and lambs had just been moved so they were just locating each other when you arrived. Bleating is perfectly normal and if you had stayed a further fifteen minutes or so longer, you would of seen that they became settled and very content. John did try and explain this to you but it seemed your mind was already made up within a few minutes of arriving. We have had over a thousand guests now stay with us at Squirrels Nest and we have never had this as an issue. When you booked your stay with us on our website, you were aware that the treehouses are on a working sheep farm, with a plentiful supply of nature surrounding you. Guest satisfaction is our top priority. It is a great shame that you didn't give our retreat a chance and that you felt the need to leave us such a poor review. Our website is a true representation of our business. Kind Regards, Squirrels Nest
