Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

What a wonderful place! Couldn't fault it. It's a quaint little Welsh pub with lovely accomodation. Staff were so helpful and friendly. Room was clean, bright, modern and has everything you need! Food was great value for money and was lovely homemade pub grub, with a good selection of well priced drinks, too. Service was fast and with a smile. Breakfast was fantastic - we pre-ordered and could have so much, all tasty and good quality! They even had gluten free bread, which was a huge bonus for me as a coeliac. Understanding of allergies was good, I felt confident. Overall it was great value for money and we thoroughly enjoyed our 1 nights stay here for a wedding at Garthmyl Hall (5 mins drive away).

The Talbot Hotel! Where to begin? The Talbot Hotel is a lovely Welsh, village Hotel in the heart of beautiful Welsh country side. Small but well well place and with a heart that is huge. All the staff are amazingly friendly and helpful and the landlady ensure an excellent stay. The rooms have been re-furbished to a high standard and provide comfort for both business and pleasure. However, to top all of this there is the amazing food. Quality and quantity which I feel is hard to match anywhere I have ever stayed and believe me I have stayed in cheap and expensive and none rival the Talbot. Every meal is a pleasure to eat, great presentation and food cooked to perfection. If you ever want to stay in this part of Wales or you just happen to be near by, my advice would be to drop in, sample it for yourself I can guarantee your view will be the same as mine. The Talbot Hotel - a real gem.

The most amazing Sunday roast, thank you. Jackie and your team, you could not have delivered a better lunch for us. The quality of the meat was 1st class, let alone the selection of 8 vegetables. Be warned you will probably need to prebook as so good. Prices are extremely good. Michelle, Simon and Tony

Really nice overnight stay in this village pub with rooms. Our en-suite bedroom was comfortable and clean. The very reasonable room rate included a full breakfast which was perfectly cooked to order. Had a little wander around the quaint little village after breakfast before driving the short distance to the magnificent Powys Castle.

Excellent, friendly Hotel in a lovely village set in outstanding countryside. We stayed two nights in a large comfy room with a newly furbished bathroom all spotlessly clean. Great breakfasts, a good choice of drinks and meals at sensible prices served by friendly staff. Would definitely stay again.

Has to be the best value Hotel in the area. My Bedroom was large, with modern decoration, en-suite shower room was great. I'm not small, so a sizeable shower is important. Bed was excellent, comfortable and surrounding area was very quiet at night. All spotless clean. Breakfast was freshly cooked with proper tasty sausage, bacon and poached eggs with runny yolks. It doesn't get much better than that. Absolutely excellent value. I'm back in the area again this week, guess where I'm staying..... Thank Jackie for making my stay a great experience.

The location on the banks of the river Rhiew is well worth a visit. This pub offers home cooked food which was very good and the portions were more than ample. We have eaten here on several occasions over the years and we are always pleased with the food provided

The Talbot is a lovely place to stay, and in a stunningly beautiful area. We were made very welcome, and check in was easy. The rooms were exceptionally clean and very comfortable and warm. A really nice bathroom too. We had drinks at the bar and were served by a really helpful young lady who went out of her way to make our young granddaughter at home with colouring pencils, and she also gave us plenty of information about the local area. We booked for an evening meal which was delicious. All four of us had different choices and the food was excellent. After a great night's sleep in a comfortable bed, we had a great breakfast which was cooked to perfection. Our granddaughter opted for fruit and yoghurt which liked amazing and the restbofcus had full English. I'm looking forward to returning. A real find.

In a beautiful location in the heart of an historic and scenic location. Warm welcome and very comfortable room. Everything we needed and very accommodating. Excellent breakfast. We're going to be back in the area again in the future and we'll definitely be booking this little gem of a hotel.
