Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We rang to book for food and the chef came and opened up - Just for us. It was amazing, all freshly cooked and the extra little touches fabulous. The dressing on the garnish was delicious - the glaze he rubbed on the tomato was gorgeous . . . . . all before the actual chicken. His attention to detail and extra touches made this one of the best meals i have eaten - and I worked in catering for nigh on 20 yrs. If you are expecting a bevy of bar staff + waiters, you will be disappointed - this chap really is a 1 man band - I got the salt of an adjoining table and had to wait 2 minutes for another drink, this is not a criticism. The detail is in the food, the time is on the food and Mike is a genius. The booking system is poor (via the hotel) - 07377 080701 ring direct. The best garlic bread I have ever tasted.

Room Tip: Ring Mike direct - The restaurant is separate to the hotel and the hotel booking system is poor.

The man that showed us to our room was very polite and well mannered we loved the room and the view from our balcony. I got woken up out of bed at 1.10am by a girl not to sure who the man was she had with her,I heard her saying to somebody that she was a little drunk and mentioned something about a joint she could have to go to bed with then went into room 206. I'm not happy with this stay and I will not be staying here again and I couldn't get back to sleep she was loud on the phone when she was talking to somebody asking what rooms was available and she mentioned something to do with her mum owning it or something couldn't hear it properly as she was in 206, the only good thing I can say is that the room was really nice and the gentleman that showed us to the room was fabulous. I would of put a higher rating if I slept all the way through

Spoke with the proprietor the day before who confirmed availability, asked about breakfast as we advised an arrival time and re-affirmed the date. We confirmed contact details and so -all set. We arrived 2 hours in advance and were lucky enough to get a cuppa from the adjacent but separate business and sat in the sun so all fine but concerned as we left messages to advise that were early....no return. No other staff were apparent at the business. In the event we waited 15 minutes after the agreed check in time and having heard nothing or seen anybody we went back home - 150 miles. In all ( there are many) my years I have enjoyed various standards of service and when a gliche does arise we usually end up laughing with the hotel team. I have never experienced anything like this. I am not malicious or cross but, for the hotels sake, something needs to be done about this place.

Stopped of for lunch at this restaurant and we were both very impressed with the food, the restaurant and the wonderful view looking out over the river. The service was excellent and helpful. My wife and I would highly recommend anyone to check out the Llanwenath. We will be back regularly.

Called in early evening and had a great window seat overlooking the river The place is very clean. The food was excellent and good size portion. I had the mix grill which was delicious with the best roasted tomatoes ever. Very reasonably priced. A very warm and genuine friendly welcome from the new owners. Going back very soon Thank you Paul & Julie
