I had booked overnight stay at Hunters Lodge luxury B and B as part of their joint dinner package with Balloo House. My husband and I stayed last night and we had the loveliest time. Jenny, the owner, could not have been nicer and more accommodating. Our room was spacious, spotlessly clean and very comfortable. We enjoyed a lovely walk to a local restaurant for lunch and then relaxed at the B and B in its beautiful surroundings with gorgeous views of the Lough before dinner. Breakfast was delicious. There were lots of lovely breads, homemade muesli and a very tasty full Ulster fry. We will definitely go back to this idyllic get away and many many thanks to Jenny for making our stay so special.
We were booked into this place by friends who live locally while we were visiting the area for the first time. It’s situated on the shores of Strangford Loch over which it has the most lovely uninterrupted views. Jenny the host made us feel completely welcome from the moment we arrived and coped admirably with our dairy free diet. Breakfast is served in a dining room overlooking the loch and is a splendid affair with fresh fruit, cereals and the Full Ulster all on offer. I can wholeheartedly recommend Hunters Lodge and will definitely be returning.
Absolutely fabulous. Not sure what else I can say. Perfect spot on side of lough. Views amazing and Jenny can’t do enough. Superb breakfast with to much to choose, you could spend your day eating around what’s on offer lol. Short walk to Daft Eddy’s for either food or drinks. And short drive to Balloo House, another great place for food. Honestly one to try for views and tranquility. Can’t praise it enough
We recently had an overnight stay at Hunters Lodge. Everything from the booking process to the check out was handled beautifully by our host Jennifer. The accomodation is excellent, the rooms are bright, spacious, beautifully decorated and exceptionally clean. We were greeted on arrival by Jennifer who explained the layout of the accomodation before being shown to our very comfortable rooms. After an excellent nights sleep in a very comfortable bed we made our way down for breakfast. The table was beautifully laid out with fresh fruit, yogurts, home made granola, a selection of breads, home made jams and the coffee was percolating ready for our arrival. Jennifer was in hand to explain the options and to take our order for a cooked breakfast. The quality of the food throughout the meal was exceptional and all enjoyed whilst enjoying a spectacular view of Strangford Lough! What more could you ask for. I have no reservation in reccomending Hunters Lodge to anyone who would like to stay in the Killinchy area of Northen Ireland.…
Had a one night stay (16th March) and loved the house, the setting and the host Jenny was lovely. Beautiful panoramic views of Strangford Lough and the countryside and a spacious room with everything we needed and great attention to detail. Breakfast was a triumph of lovely, mainly home made, food including muesli, breads, fruit and a delicious Ulster fry. This place is a great find and although we only had one night we really felt like we were on holiday. Definitely recommend.
