Had a really relaxing stay at Belle Isle, it was such a peaceful and quiet place to spend a couple of days. The cottage was really warm and cosy when we arrived and we had ordered food from the bistro for our dinner which was delicious. The staff were also very friendly and helpful when we spoke to them.

The only things I think let it down is that there is no shower, only a bath (it unfortunately doesn’t mention this on the website either). Everyone is different but personally we find it is much more practical to have a shower. Also, the sofa/chairs in the living room are not that comfortable to sit on for any period of time (eg if you wanted to spend the evening in rather than going out). These are only small things though and overall we really enjoyed our stay and probably would come back!

We stayed in Coach House number One for 3 nights. Having stayed in self catering in many countries we were very impressed with everything.
This has a large sitting, dining and kitchen area downstairs with everything you would possibly need provided. Upstairs are 2 bedrooms, both with large ensuites, there is also a downstairs toilet and a picnic table outside.
The whole house is furnished and decorated in a style according to the age of the building. Having stayed in many self catering places this rated as one of the best and we will definitely be back.
It is beside an amazing castle and lovely walks in a quiet area with beautiful scenery.
You need a car to get here and bring your own food as you will not want to leave once you arrive.
Enniskillen is only 20 minutes away where there are a lot of things to see and do, so you can have the peace and quiet of Belle Isle as well as the shopping and sights of the city.
The staff were very helpful and we loved the 2 donkeys.
The WiFi signal was very good.

Belle Isle is a secluded joy. We stayed in a coach house in a converted stables block. Excellent facilities in the house, comfortable beds, large kitchen and sitting area. There’s a good bistro and small bar on site - not gourmet food by any means but decent, good local flavours, well cooked. Staff on the estate are very friendly and welcoming. Our dog Jake roamed freely and had a great time. There’s an attractive small castle over looking Lake Erne that can also be stayed in. WiFi is a bit dodgy and it’s a little secluded being 8 miles from Enniskillen. A good holiday though - thoroughly recommended.

Just checked in to a courtyard apartment which is beautifully furnished and very well equipped.
Unfortunately the environment /layout of the accommodation and space adjoining is not in keeping with the accommodation or price.
It feels like a brick campsite which has given each plot limited open plan and at times communal outside space.
I have had more privacy staying at campsites in Italy, France and donegal.
Feeling quite disappointed and the restaurant in site isn't open

Hello Joanne, I'm very sorry to hear you are disappointed with the courtyard accommodation at Belle Isle. Over the next couple of years we are going to add enhancements to the courtyard including further landscaping and hope that this will add to our guest's experience. With best regards, Nicholas

Terrible. We arrived to celebrate a 60th with 15 family members to find that despite requesting houses together we had been placed as far apart as possible - one in courtyard one at the entrance near the bridge around a km away and the other off the island across the bridge. The distance was unworkable with a disabled party and 7 small children including two babies. The roads were too dangerous to walk between the houses and with no lights at night it was pitch black. The manager was extremely unhelpful and made it clear they would do nothing as we had booked through booking.com and not directly with them. We were told to book taxis between houses. There was a broken shower in one house and no highchairs provided despite being pre requested. Calls to the number provided went unanswered for hours before finally being given long after the children had gone to bed. Really disappointed overall. We paid over £1000 for this weekend and would not recommend or return.

Dear Brendan, Further to your review we wish to make a number of points regarding your booking to give an accurate account of your reservation. Your booking was made by yourself directly with booking.com and not directly with Belle Isle. At no stage did you contact Belle Isle regarding your booking, nor did you request that you wanted your accommodation together. Had we known in advance we could have arranged this. We note your reservation was made with booking.com on the 27/2/2023 for the 24th March. The accommodation you booked with booking.com was the accommodation you selected online with descriptions included. We received confirmation of your bookings from booking.com and duly provided the accommodation you selected. We explained this to you upon check in when you first made us aware that you wanted all accommodation together. We apologised for the oversight regarding the highchairs and cots but rectified this early on the evening on your arrival. We were unaware of any issue regarding a shower until check out and had we known we could have easily sorted this maintenance issue upon request. Unfortunately all our other accommodation was occupied by another group, hence the availability of the accommodation you booked on booking.com, that had arrived two days previously so we were unfortunately unable to offer alternative accommodation to facilitate your group. We feel disappointed that had we known of your family celebration in advance we could have provided what you wanted rather than receiving a poor review for something that we were completely unaware of and had received no communication on. Kind regards, John O’ Neill General Manager

A very cosy, lovely little cottage. Cottage itself is very clean and supplies most things you need. It has a oven, microwave, fridge, all types of cutlery. The bed is very comfortable and I had a good night's sleep. The grounds are lovely to walk around. I wouldn't recommend if you like staying somewhere with a bit of "buzz" around it. It is very, very secluded. But it's perfect if you're wanting a quiet getaway.

The bistro is closed so we had to make the 20 minute journey into Enniskillen itself for food. But the welcome pack has loads of recommendations.

The only negative I have is that the internet isn't only just "poor" but it's non existent. Internet is quite important to us as my partner never really "switches off" from his job, he needs to keep up to date with emails, etc and he wasn't able to do that (not a bad thing in my opinion, but he would disagree!). We also use it to watch a lot of shows especially at night and if it was raining. There isn't really a lot to do around the area, especially if it is raining.

Overall very good but definitely need the internet updated.

We stayed in Cathcart's Lodge - a detached cottage which was very peaceful with views to the lake. The cottage is well equipped and spotlessly clean and there is good wifi now. A real cosy home from home. We ate at the Bistro once for dinner and once for breakfast and the food was excellent and reasonably priced. We were pleasantly surprised by how much there is to see in the area. Andrea was very helpful and welcoming.

We stayed for two nights in the Walled Garden Cottage. It was well appointed and had everything we could have needed. The location of Belle Isle Castle means it’s very quiet and peaceful. There was ample phone reception and the WiFi worked perfectly. Our only complaint was that the light in the garden didn’t work meaning the garden was pitch black which wasn’t great for our dog’s night time toilet breaks. Apart from that the cottage was comfortable, warm and cosy. The walks around castle grounds were lovely, albeit muddy and the donkeys were very friendly! Would definitely go back!

My family were regular Belle Isle visitors when I was a child, spending several xmas's, many easters, summers and countless bank holidays in all the various properties, with a particular fondness for the courtyard. It really is intrinsically linked with our childhood. It had been 20 years since we were last there and so we booked a weekend as a treat for my Grandparents, to spend some time together as a family and have a walk down memory lane. We were not disappointed.
Our booking was delayed a few times due to covid, but the reservations team couldnt have been more helpful, helping us to reorganise and were quick to update us on our booking status. My husband and I stayed in Lime and it was fabulous. Super layout, warm, cosy furnishings , super log burner and really clean and tidy. We made use of the BBQ and the firepit round the back and it was all just fab.
Belle Isle is the best place to unwind, walk, get fresh air, and spend time together over too much wine. It is just amazing and I won't be waiting another 20 years to rebook. Also- we met the pigs! Loved them! A quirky addition to the donkeys and chickens. Thank you so much for making our weekend! 2 nights just wasn't enough we could have stayed all week!

Our family of nine(including) dog stayed for the weekend. The 4 bed cottage was really lovely in terms of comfort and decor. It was very spacious. The wood burning stove took a while to get going but it really did add to the ambience. The cottage was extremely well heated! A well equipped kitchen and lots of towels.

Quiet and peaceful surroundings. Staff very helpful . A very enjoyable relaxing weekend. The boys( 5 and 9) really enjoyed the experience and were particularly pleased to meet the resident black cat!!

One suggestion would be to add a second shower . While there is a spacious main bathroom the only shower is ensuite to one of the bedrooms.

All in all we had a great weekend in a lovely cottage located n beautiful surroundings.

We took the whole castle--4 bedrooms and it is self catering. However we also took one cottage on the estate as there were 10 of us. On two nights we hired a cook and a waiter (her Mum from memory), and they cooked for us, washed up etc. It is a large Dining Room, so you can dine in style.
