Mid-week lunch with friends. We sampled pretty much all the starters, mains and puddings between us and all were excellent, especially the fishcake starter, the pheasant breast main and the cheese. Good wine and service although we could have done with more water on the table. The dining room is quirky but cosy and we pretty much had the place... More

We had lunch here a few days ago, on recommendation of friends. So glad we took their advice! I had advised of allergies when we booked, and the waitress explained what was in each of the dishes, so I knew what I could have. We were brought delicious warm, home made bread, with butter for my husband and olive oil... More

We booked The Barley Bree for my dads 70th birthday lunch and it was brilliant! There were 16 adults and 5 children and nothing was too much trouble. The food was outstanding! Most of us opted for the roast beef lunch which came with melt in the mouth roast beef, hand made Yorkshire pudding, roast potatoes, seasonal veg and a... More

Almost went by this place while looking for somewhere to stay. As it's right on the corner of this quaint small Scottish village it was easy to miss. It's a lovely small, very friendly place with open fireplace, traditional decor, very clean and the food is amazing. My friend is on a celiac diet and always has trouble finding food... More

My first visit here with friends who come to celebrate their birthdays every year. Very warm welcome by very friendly efficient staff. Place has a rustic feel and lots of hints towards fishing in the restaurant with plaques, rods and nets hanging around. Cosy bar has paraphernalia relating to brewing. Menu was nice and was served by very polite staff.... More

Never expected to find a quality place like this in a small village like Muthill. Menu isn't extensive but it covers all the bases and the quality of all we had was excellent. We had advised of a couple of dietary requirements when we booked a week before and these were taken care of. Service was excellent and there was... More

Amazing little place, with great hospitality and food that was out of this world. The wine list is great, and the rooms were immaculate. Cannot rate highly enough. The service was tremendous, and a wonderful scottish breakfast really set us up for the day ahead.
