Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Absolutely loved our stay at Margo and Leslie’s homely B&B. Gorgeous period property spotlessly clean. With a few special touches, super comfortable bed, very cozy. Beautifully cooked breakfast (plenty choice to suit all) in front of a roaring open fire (on a chilly spring morning) nothing too much trouble. Do not hesitate to book a stay here! ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️

Stayed over for one night and the room was great with a lovely nice large bed and private bathroom with bath, had breakfast in the morning and felt I was at my grandparents with how I was looked after, food well presented and tasted great with a fantastic host who looked after me so well.

I stayed for one night whilst walking the Southern Upland Way booked through Absolute Escapes. I arrived to tea and ginger cake, what a lovely welcome. My room was lovely, spacious, clean and very comfortable. I slept like a baby! Breakfast was excellent, it set me up for the day, I didn't need to eat until evening dinner.

This was a charming place to stay in a lovely small, historic town. It was beautifully furnished in a traditionally Scottish style including many beautiful antiques, immaculately clean, and very comfortable. The hosts were very conscientious about thorough covid precautions. Margot, the hostess, was caring, kind, and saw to all our needs. The breakfasts were amazing. It felt more like visiting a dear friend, than staying in a Bed and Breakfast. I would love to go back there again...and again.

Margot and Leslie run an excellent B&B with 3 great rooms (1 ensuite and 2 with a private bathroom). We have been staying there for many, many years and have always been very pleased with the rooms, servie and food. We would recommend to anyone.

We stayed one night at Lornebank as a stop over during a 6 day motorbiking trip. Margot and Les were very welcoming and found us a great spot to leave our bikes at the back which is always a worry on one it these trips. On walking in we were greeted with afternoon tea which was just what we needed after a long ride. Margot explained that due to Covid we were the only guests which was excellent for us. As someone with coeliac disease Margot had purchased plenty of items I could eat including snacks which is very rare. She had also booked us in for a meal at a local pub which catered for my needs. Before we went out for the evening we filled in our breakfast slips for the following morning. After a night's sleep were then had a superb breakfast which was more than we all could eat and was of high standard just like the whole premises. I can only say good things about Lornebank there was absolutely nothing I could find fault with. Superb place and even better value.

perfect hosting. nice touch having a guests lounge. separate private bathroom is not our personal choice, i believe some rooms have en-suite bathrooms. shower curtain on shower-over-bath was a bit clingy and space was restricted. mattress very soft, just a personal taste thing from me, may suit some people. Breakfast was great and nothing too much trouble. lovely Georgian house with parking.

Stayed 2 nights recently and there is nothing to fault about this B&B. Off street parking, clean and so very comfortable inside; lovely large room with the comfiest of beds, ensuite, a large lounge available for use, cosy... I could go on. A really nice host, the breakfast menu is varied and full of options and tasted delicious. Would highly recommend.
