Visiting my sister for Christmas. The hotel was open on Christmas Day and provided their excellent breakfast on Boxing Day even though officially closed. We were guests for four nights as we didn't want to be under my sister's feet all the time over the festive season.A comfortable welcoming hotel where nothing is too much trouble for owners Jim and...

We travelled on an extremely cold day. Carfraemill was very warm and welcoming. The room was lovely and the bed was very comfortable. We had a really good evening meal served by the friendly staff and breakfast was equally as good.

We had an overnight stay after a day at the races. It was warm and inviting and all staff were friendly and helpful. The room was nicely decorated and comfortable. The only slight negative was that there was no separate lounge for guests. However, guests can have a drink or sit in the dining area, or take drinks to their...

On seating we were advised that the fryers were not working which limited the menu significantly. Asking if,under the circumstances, the chef could provide an all day breakfast we were told absolutely not - not the welcoming and friendly reception we expected! We were then told the Ham was also not available after ordering drinks - we decided to persevere...

We received a warm welcome & were seated promptly. The decor is very tasteful & there is a lovely ambience. Can highly recommend & would certainly eat here again should...

Excellent for meetings (& functions), ample parking, good access, lovely rooms and really nice staff. My room was excellent, very comfy bed, blackout blinds and a good sized bathroom. Breakfast was good, plenty of choice, cooked breakfast made to order. Well worth a visit.

Carfraemill Lodge is a privately run hotel and shows it. Apart from the friendly staff, the warm welcome, the excellent menu and good quality food and the comfortable bedrooms with their individual homely touches, the whole operation speaks of the care and concern of people who clearly regard it as more than just a business. This is unique in the...

A warm, comfortable hotel with friendly staff, excellent food and a good selection of wines and beers, Rooms were well equipped although ours proved a little small. The ensuite shower room was quite sufficient but the water pressure in the shower itself barely adequate. Some difficulty getting wet! An ideal base from which to explore the Scottish Borders within easy...

Nice rooms, great staff and friendly atmosphere. The food is excellent with great choice. Carfraemill has a great reputation in the Scottish Borders and having stayed there for the first time it is well recommended. It is also great for family meals and weddings to which I have been for meals many times before

A lovely hotel and super room. Great food and warm welcome. We are regular visitors and always book the romantic break for dinner bed and breakfast. We'll definitely continue to stay here as often as we can on our travels from the Aberdeen area down south to visit family.
