Detailed Reviews
We stayed at Scoutscroft over Christmas and New Year with extended family in tourers, motor homes and the sites pods we also celebrated a family birthday which the staff catered for.
What can we say except Jo Linda and Karen worked like trodgens along with the rest of the staff to ensure we and all the other guests/owners/families had the best time. Where they get their energy and enthusiasm from is unbelievable
They keep going from
Morning to night ensuring everyone’s needs are met with good humour and complete professionalism. It definitely is a family affair. They are great ambassadors for Verdant Liesure and should be recognised for the effort which goes well above what you would expect at a holiday park
Our grandson loves coming here the staff have taken him under their wings making sure he feels safe secure and welcome even if he sometimes is the only kiddie in the competition they still go above and beyond
Thanks and Happy New Year

We enjoyed 2 nights in camping pod 1. It was spotless and a sticker on the door to say it was covid cleaned for our safety. I had emailed beforehand to ask what facilities where in the pod and told electricity and heating, NO cooking or fridge. Arrived and a kettle, fridge and TV are provided.
Wish I hadn't packed my fridge & kettle.
Showers are provided in touring block its per family that enter together and you bolt the door. Very clean.
Dishwashing to the side of the toilet block.
Water tap is in the centre of the pod area. You park your car at the kids play area and walk along the little bridge to the pods. Staff on site very friendly and social distancing, hand sanitizer all provided to keep you safe. We have re booked for September and October as we love the area, coldingham bay a short walk and lots to see and do in surrounding area.

We booked a deluxe caravan for a week. We regularly visit the area and have booked accommodation almost every year for the past 20 years. This is the most we have ever had to pay for a weeks holiday, We usually stay in cottages and pay less sadly we had to rearrange our dates and the caravan was all we could find available. I appreciate that Covid and people holidaying in the UK has inflated prices but this didn’t feel like good value. The site was nice surprisingly quiet and is well situated for the beach and the village. The van was a deluxe was spacious enough for 3 of us and fairly clean . I did find grease on the floor of the oven and crumbs in the cutlery drawer but these are things that are easily missed. ( I’ve worked in self catering holidays) I was surprised to find the tv on when we opened the van and the central heating, it was very hot in there. The timer on the heating was set to the wrong time and needed adjusting. The van had everything you would need but did not feel particularly deluxe I suspect it’s related to size. There was no dustpan and brush but we asked and were given one, essential near the beach. There were no coat hooks we were lucky and had a dry week but we have had some pretty wet weeks in Scotland and would have had nowhere to hang wet waterproofs. There was a airier but the type that hooks over radiators and windows and the only place it could be hung was outside the living room window again ok as it was dry. The vans are quite close together and we could hear people banging in other vans. The staff on site are very friendly and the site is kept immaculate.

Stayed here for New Year. The staff were warm and welcoming. There was fabulous New Years entertainment which required the function room to be totally reorganised, the staff, lead by the managers, then stayed on to ensure everybody had a good time, the staff team were faultless in their efforts. The event was due to finish at 1am but the campers were not ready to stop so the team stayed with them till 3pm, only when the last guest left could they relax.
A few minutes after they left the complex calls started to coming that there was a power cut. Both site managers returned to the site and started to walk the site, in sub zero temperatures, ensuring everybody was ok then more of the staff team, who lived locally, heard of the problem and came in to the site where they got, complimentary hot food and drink organised for anybody that wanted it.
The manager arranged for an Electritan to attend the site, who managed to get the power back on before 9:30am
The staff team then went into to organise a New Year’s Day party.
I have nothing but admiration and gratitude for the staff team and the managers who lead them.
If I’m ever in a difficult spot I hope I have a team like this to support me.
My only disappointment is that after this weekend this site will no longer be taking touring units😩

Our family has been going to Coldingham for years, due to my grandparents owning a caravan at the top site. Although that hasn't been available for years we still like to come down for a holiday. We have all used the pods at various times and often found them good value. Last weekend we were down and i have to say every member of staff we came into contact with were extremely helpful and welcoming. The manageress was fantastuc as was the lovely Linda who kept us up to date with upcoming events and kept us topped up with drinks. There was a guy singing and he was very good and it was great to hear some live music again ( its been so long) On the Saturday evening there was bingo, whichni normally wouldn't be near😊 but the manageress coaxed us into it and it was a great laught, thanks for that. All in all, after the last few years it was fantastic to get a wee break and the team made you feel 100% safe. Everyone wore masks, and from the pods to the toilets and entertainment areas was spotlessly clean.
Thank you all so much

Just returned from a three night break in one of the caravans at Scoutscroft. The caravan a superior 2 bedroomed was very modern and exceptionally clean. It’s been years since I stayed in a caravan and was so surprised how modern and comfortable it was. The beds were really comfortable and linen and towels included were of high quality. We ate at the restaurant one night and the food was lovely and fresh and great value for money. All the staff were so friendly. We took my parents in law along to the bingo and live music night which we all thoroughly enjoyed. Coldingham is a lovely village with a gorgeous beach and there’s are so many beautiful places to visit nearby.

Really liked this park but not at all child friendly, play park has one chute not exactly very exciting for the numerous children that were there and everything in the children’s area of clubhouse costs. Bar food was supplied from chip shop as staff were of with covid, maybe they should have hired in an agency chef especially in probably the busiest month. The cost of the van was £750 for late Mon afternoon to 10.00am Friday pricey when the area around the entrance steps were covered in weeds and dog hair had to be removed from seating area inside.

+1
Just back from a 2 night stay in the glamping pods.
First off a big shout out to Dot and the groundskeeper- didn't catch his name. Both lovely staff members, instantly felt welcomed and they helped with lots of info on things to do.
Glamping pod was clean, bigger than I thought! Has a kettle, heater, fridge, TV and a bin. Also a table outside for meal times. Only problem was the roller blinds could do with replacing in pod 8, they kept getting stuck and just not rolling. I also had to spend a lot of money eating out and buying new food as the fridge froze all my food! Was not ideal when I was on a budget.
The park itself was lovely and well kept. The showers/Toilets were always clean. I did like the idea of the family room aswell as I just went with my daughter so we both went into there without having to worry. The park isn't the best for kids, get bored quick. Also need some dealing area so we can watch the children.
The bar/restaurant /arcade don't really have entertainment on. There was a quiz on the Sunday but when I asked what was on the next day I was told the next entertainment day is Wednesday. We went to order food just after 6 but we were told the restaurant was closed but we could order from the chip shop. Which I think I'm pleased about as there was lots of full plates being left. I later heard staff talking about how it was closed due to no staff. Wish I had some pre-warning so I could of made other arrangements. The arcade was small which was ideal as I didn't want to spend lots. However some were off or needed filled up.
The on site chip shop food was lovely but really pricey. It also was like a little shop!
The beach is about a 15 minute walk and absolutely stunning. Eyemouth about a 3 mile drive and worth a visit.
I'd definitely be back here.

Haven’t been to scoutscroft for years and was suprised at the changes, the actual caravan park is nice , it’s clean & tidy in a great location, there are a lot of caravans however very close together. The centre and facilities feel a little unloved and could do with some investment. For example the mini golf while it’s small it does the job however it get like the staff never bothered to check in the room , in the corner of it there was loads of rubbish , carboard and flag poles like it was a dumping ground. The kids arcade area could do with some more machines that suit all ages. The pool table felt like it had just been dumped in the middle of the room. No set area for cues to be kept etc etc, no lighting above it. Again the TVs were never switched on in our time there . There are two bar areas , the smaller one which was never open during our stay and then the larger one which links with kids area which I felt lacked any real atmosphere. There were a few shows on but outwith that we didn’t even hear any background music, the food served was basic, one night we went and there was quite a decent choice however it changed to a really limited menu. Pizza’s @ £12 which were clearly shop bought and just put in the oven was disappointing . The time for breakfast were also strange , between 10-12am along with the on site chippy closing at 9pm
The thing I was most disappointed in was the kids play park or, as a site for families I was suprised by the lack of play parks and then when I found the one and only one , it was literally just a chute which felt like it had been dumped in a car park. It was the most disappointing park ever, the kids were bored after 10min. I’m not expecting an adventure centre but surely as a family caravan site there should be better
Overall it feels like the Center is unloved and forgotten about and needs investment to bring it up to the expectation of a family in 2022 . It was easy to see loads of opportunities to increase revenue

A little unpredictable powercut left part of the site without power in the very early hours of the New Years Day morning. However, the staff were fantastic and immediately responded in calling out an electrician. As a tourer we had the gas to use in order to keep the chill out and enough battery power for light, although we also had touches if ever need. Special thanks to the staff and engineer for their efforts to ensure power was returned. Alternatives were offered and a free tea, coffee and hot breakfast roll were available for those that were able to make it. Again a massive thanks to the staff, who explained the situation and haven't yet been to sleep, since the shenanigans and New Years Eve party. The staff have continued throughout to ensure that their customers experience and enjoyment come first. Outstanding service...
