My brother and I plus our Mum & Dad stayed back in May on our LEJOG Charity Cycle Ride. Altnaharra is such a stunning and awe-inspiring place nestled in the wilderness of Scotland. Deers wandering around and sound of birds and the elements make it such a peaceful place to stay. Mandy made us all feel so welcome and it... More

I stayed here in early 2015 whilst cycling through the area & stayed here again in October 2016. Excellent service both times with friendly helpful owners who have good local knowledge of the area. Secure cycle storage. I was also offered & had a 3 course evening meal (which I booked ahead). Superb value & food. Comfortable en-suite room. I... More

I travelled to Altnaharra to explore the most northern parts of the Highlands where I had never been before. I didn't quite know what to expect but was overwhelmed by Mandy and her husband Lesleys's hospitality, friendliness and helpfulness in sharing their knowledge of the area. Completely unfazed by the fact that I am a vegan, Mandy cooked up a... More

I landed here solo but I was part of a bigger group of cyclists, of which the majority stayed in Lairg. Mandy and her husband were absolutely brilliant and treated me and the other guests so well! The food was spot on and the scenery was to die for!. Seeing live deers through the massive front window on a sunset... More

We stayed for 2 nights while cycling the NW 500. The welcome and the hospitality from both Mandy and Lindsay was superb. Breakfast and dinner was also wonderful, tasty and plentiful and Mandy is an excellent cook. We enjoyed local venison one night and locally caught haddock the other. The bedrooms are a little tired but there are plans afoot... More

Last night of my Land's end to John O Groats cycle. Absolutely stunning location. All the food I needed to fuel me! The hosts were great, really friendly, and made sure I had a great stay. There's a nice little bar across the road where you're likely to meet other cyclists and walkers.

My wife and I staid there for two nights in August 2016, with our two kids (age 5 and 7). Mandy and her husband were amazing hosts, and we felt just at home. Do not miss the home-made dinners, nor walks around the Loch. A magical interlude.
