On the way back from Glasgow, we stopped for lunch and enjoyed everything about the Clachan. Warm log fires, lovely friendly welcome, great menu, great value and delicious food. Definitely will be returning and recommending.

We stopped for tea at an unpretentious pub in this little hamlet and entered a warm and charming little gem of an Inn. They were between meals but the friendly, efficient, accommodating hostess gave us delicious hot butternut squash soup and the best bread of the trip, served warm with plenty of butter. We sat by a warm fire and...

Stopped in to refuel on our way to Kirkcudbright. Great food, very well priced with great service. They even fired up the log fire at our request (sorry about the photo...) Will be planning future routes that go past here.

A very warm welcome from the owners and their friendly staff made for an enjoyable 3 nights. The open fires in the bars gave a cosey atmosphere.. The food was excellent. The location convenient .Would recommend to anybody wanting to visit the area and looking for good value, comfortable accommodation.

We both were brought up in this area but we had never stayed in the hotel until the weekend and what a lovely weekend it was. The hotel had just been purchased by the young couple who are running it so it was great excitement for them. From the moment we checked in we were made very welcome and were...

A quaint little pub with open fires, friendly staff and the food was great. The pan fried duck was cooked to perfection. A lot of effort has gone into this down to earth pub. Dogs are welcome but not in the restaurant if dogs are not your thing.

This was a very welcoming pub.It was recommended by local people so we thought we would give it a try. The menu was different from usual pubs, with more variety and some great choices. Service was great, such lovely friendly staff. We went back the following night again as we were so impressed.

Fantastic Fridley and welcoming place to stay. The tasty home cooked food was five star restaurant quality, with good wines and real Ales behind the bar. I have paid far more for a lot less! The best place I have stayed in Scotland!!

I stayed for a single night en route north and left the booking a bit late. The hotel was easy to find, plenty of parking and a lovely clean room. My welcome from the staff could not be faulted. I had dinner in the restaurant and it was delicious, enjoyed by the fireplace. I slept very well and went downstairs...

Recently dined at the Clachan, it`s a lovely place very olde-worlde and thoroughly enjoyed two delicious lamb curries - could have eaten a bit more rice though! Service was very efficient and also not too noisy considering it`s also a pub.
