Thank you so much for the positive review and we are very glad you like the xmas menu. Its good to know we are getting back on track. I left the business for 8 years and returned early this year and we are constantly trying to improve and make little changes to please our customers. Many Thanks Paula

Stayed for 2 nights and had a great time. Staff very helpful, friendly and has a great casual atmosphere. The room was spacious, clean and had everything you need. Food we had during our stay was delicious and very good value for money. Nice country pub feel to the hotel. We will definitely visit again.

There doesn't seem to be a "restaurant" page for this place - so i'll put it here. We came here a few years ago and it was lovely - no longer the case. This time we were on our way to an event elsewhere, tight for time and this location was convenient. Seems to be a doss house for contractors...

I am very sorry your experience with us was so terrible it has never ever been associated as being a doss house before and feel this is quite unnecessary. The hotel is full of workmen which does not generally affect anyone who comes in as they are all very pleasant. We do offer other areas to eat in stead of...

Just had a lovely meal to finish the last day of our holiday near Dumfries. Quality pub food. I had the traditional haggis, neeps and tatties, husband had steak and bacon burger and daughter had sausage and mash from kids menu. Service excellent and everything served very hot. We also had our Bernese Mountain Dog with us, who was made...

Very hungry at about 20.30 on this long road back home, normal looking pub, decent menu, had the Gammon with egg and pineapple, its probably the finest gammon meal ive tasted in any restaurant , its was such good value, and as its not so far away I will definitely return , I had stopped initially on the A713 for...

Spotted The Galloway Arms on the A75 as we drove home from holiday and pulled over to check it out. OK, it isn't the most attractive building but it is very welcoming place, staff are great and food was excellent. Definitely worth a visit, especially if you're looking for a good feed to break your journey. Dogs are welcome too...

On the A75 between Cairn Ryan and Dumfies this is an ideal stopping point for food. Excellent selection of reasonably priced bar food available all day. I opted for the Steak pie and a soft drink all for a reasonable £11.05. Food served by attentive staff. If you need to break your journey to or from the ferry I can...

This hotel does not look that inviting when you pass by on the road from Dumfries to Stranraer. But this is not a truthful impression, because as soon as you enter the hotel, it is as warm and welcoming as can be. The food and drink are all good and the service great. If you need a break on this...

A large group of us had arranged a meal here after a day out. Because of our numbers (28) we had chosen our menu in advance and arrived at the time arranged. The majority of our group had ordered a main course and dessert...a few starter and main etc.etc. The people who hadn't ordered a starter waited nearly an hour...

Hi there Very pleased that your food was excellent on your trip but at the same time disappointed that you had to wait so long. I think next time we need to see about taking drinks orders at the table as we were very aware on the evening that service was going slowly as we like everyone to be seated...
