When you pay hundreds of dollars for a few weeks, you expect that the promised amenities will be provided. What the website doesn't say is that you are not allowed to wash your clothes yourself, to control the amount of soap, or decide when to wash your clothes. Gabriel would say we could use the machine tomorrow, then the next...

Simple but homely and very clean. Run by a very helpful, friendly family. You can tell the hostel is their pride and joy! Most people staying there are coming to or from the airport so it's a quiet retreat for tired travelers after a long journey, with a curfew at 11 to ensure everyone can catch up on the sleep...

Very peaceful hostel with friendly owners. Kitchen area was clean and the common area feels like a cousy living room. :) From the location is about 30 min walk to center of San Jose but there are markets and restaurants also close by.

We only stayed here 2 nights on our travels but wow were we lucky to have stayed here. The backpackers feels like home with a big living room and kitchen. The family is so sweet and the dog is the cherry on top. What makes this place even better: the family is extremely helpful. We had a stressful day including...

I really liked the hostel, especially the great owners. Very good and clean rooms in a familiar atmosphere. The hostrl is in a safe area close to a big park and around a 15 min walk to the city center. It's location is very good when you arrive or leave from the airport. I would highly recommend the place!

I stayed with Nomadas in a private room from May-July while doing an internship nearby. I would highly recommend this hostel as a place to stay, whether for short or long term, and whether you are travelling alone, with friends or with your family. Nomadas is quiet, clean, and located less than a minute's walk from the Sabana Park. There...

We arrived in the evening and Gabriel welcomed us super friendly. He gave us a lot of helpful facts about Costa Rica and Panama. Where to go, how to go and so on. He's an amazing host. The hostel itself is great. It's quiet, the people are more alternative than party people (at least when we stayed there), which we...

My 18 year old son and I stayed here in a private double with private bathroom. Towels were provided upon request. The room was a bit small, but then so was the price of admission. Breakfast was included and it consisted of toast with butter and jelly - we were grateful for it. We also had unlimited coffee available to...

We were expecting more from this hostel based on the reviews it had received. We paid for a private double room with private bathroom, but when we arrived were told they had double-booked and we were going to be put in a family room (just the two of us) with a shared bathroom. Although this was not the end of...

We stayed here for a couple days because it was cheap. For the price we got 5 bunk beds. The room was clean, but there was no lock on the door. There was a buzzer/lock so it was very secure. The staff wasn't so friendly, nor was the breakfast so good. For an overnight stay it would probably be OK,...
