We stayed in Darven Cottage when visiting friends on the island and David was a fantastic host, who also cooked an evening meal for ourselves and our friends. The evening meal was excellent with a Moroccan themed leg of lamb with spices and apricots, and Scottish dessert (cannot remember the name). Breakfasts were superb with full Scottish breakfast if you... More

Staying at Darven Cottage made our first visit to Arran so good that we have booked to return for a longer visit to the island, staying there again. The location is lovely and relaxing, with beautiful views of the beach and sea from the windows and direct access for a walk along the beach. There are a couple of local... More

I stayed at Darven Cottage for a few days in May, and it was brilliant. David is a very welcoming and generous host, and made me feel at home straight away, which is ideal when you are travelling on your own. It was lovely to hang out with Ruby, the gorgeous Golden Retriever, not to mention the adorable cats. Darven... More

Our stay in Darven Cottage was unforgetable experience. We have loved not only the pets and surroundings of the house, but also Dave's cuisine. We have appreciated the most of the stuff was prepared from fresh ingredients especially. Thank you very much Dave and we are looking forward to visiting your house again!

We stayed in Bed & Breakfast accommodation on our tour round the Scottish islands and the very best of them all was Darven Cottage. Wonderful position right on the sea shore, brilliant hospitality. food and accommodation. We are still taking about David and the wonderful dog Ruby three weeks later! Cannot recommend highly enough.

The Isle of Arran is a magical place, and we couldn't have chosen a better place to stay for our holiday. Darven Cottage is amazing. From the moment we arrived, David and Diane made us feel completely at home and part of the family. David is a brilliant cook, and made us dinner the evening we arrived, and wonderful breakfasts... I stayed at Darven Cottage along with my 2 mates, Adam & Pollock for 2 nights. From the minute we arrived David made us feel welcome and we enjoyed this relaxed atmosphere throughout our stay. A hearty breakfast set us up for the day, the calories well spent running, hiking & scrambling over the simply stunning & surreal landscapes of... More

Myself and my husband stayed with David for a few days. We are made to feel very welcome. Our room overlooked the sea. I could tell the time by the Calmac Ferry crossing the Clyde. David provided an amazing breakfast whilst we watched the red squirrels in the back garden. The location is perfect for relaxing as the beach is... More

From the moment that we were greeted by David and Dianne outside their cottage in Sannox, I knew that we had chosen the right place. Time slowed right down at Darven and due to the friendliness, warmth and generosity of our hosts, we felt a total freedom to relax and enjoy this most beautiful setting. The food was amazing, and... My husband and I visited for the weekend with our one year old son. David, our host, was very welcoming and each morning served a delicious breakfast. He was particularly patient with our noisy son! The views from the cottage are spectacular and the rooms comfortable and immaculate. We will definitely visit again!
