Croft Cottage B&B is a traditional stone built cottage, offering comfortable and stylish en-suite accommodation in the small village of Buchlyvie. Situated 2 doors away from the local pub, The Buchlyvie Inn, the B&B has two rooms, a king size and double, so can accommodate up to four people. This small B&B sets high standards and has great reviews on Trip Advisor. With a separate lounge, solely for the use of guests, you can relax with a drink in the evening, watch TV, read, play board games, there's free wifi, ample free parking and Alan serves up a great Scottish breakfast! For cyclists or walkers, you only need to go by road for 5-10 minutes before accessing the disused railway track that takes you to Aberfoyle (7 miles) then right into the heart of Queen Elizabeth Forest Park. Easy cycling and walking, no cars, great scenery and lots of tracks to explore this lovely part of Scotland. We'll give you local information about things to see and do in the area, from castles to distilleries, golf courses to visitor attractions and let you know about our favourite places - some hidden gems! The village pub and Coffee Shop serve good food and both the Pottery and Green Gallery sell Scottish paintings, gifts and crafts. With easy access to the M9 motorway hub and within an hour's drive of both Glasgow and Edinburgh, the rural setting and lovely scenery mean that you can explore the countryside, with Loch Lomond and the Trossachs right on your doorstep.

My cousin and I stayed at this most lovely B&B for two nights in early October and were truly delighted with the accommodations. Alan, our host, went out of this way to make us feel welcome. Alan is passionate about Scotland and its History and it was great to chat with him at breakfast time before we hit the road. (Breakfast was delicious, plentiful and included fresh fruit daily). The cottage is a charming house that dates from the mid-1870s and has been updated\maintained in perfect condition. It is literally spotless & decorated with much taste. We stayed there at the end of our journey and it would have been a true pleasure to stay longer. Again, accommodations are great and spotless clean; Alan is very knowledgeable, considerate and so very helpful. Highly recommend !!

My wife and I had a wonderful stay in this lovely, well maintained and cared for historic home in Buchlyvie. Breakfast was excellent, the rooms were comfy and the character of the place and the town were delightful. Our host was generous, fun and shared much information about the places to go and things to see in the area. If you'll planning on staying in Loch Lomond / Stirling area I'd definitely recommend a stay here as it's a short drive to Stirling Castle, the Wallace monument, Battle of Bannockburn, Doune Castle as well as the south end of Loch Lomond and the park. Very much a highlands meets lowlands feel to place.

I am a little late writing this review. Our first place to stay on our 7 day self drive tour. Easy to find, right on the Main Street with parking there as well. The owner and host, Alan, is a very interesting gentleman eager to share information. Our room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was served puntually and tasty. We had an unfortunate incident while carrying our luggage downstairs where a lamp was accidentally knocked over but Alan said it could be fixed with minimal repair. Our sincere apologies as we take pride in respecting other people's property. Would recommend as a good place to stay.

croft cottage is ideally located for visiting a number of attractions. it is a good base for sterling and loch lomond. alan, the b&b owner, is willing to spend the time to help you plan what to see, and has recommendations for dining. he made us feel very welcome here. the breakfast was delicious and plentiful. the room was well thought out. there was a chest on which to place our suitcase, which made it convenient to remove items for use. the window faces the main street. while there was very little street noise during the night, traffic does increase in the morning. if you are a light sleeper, i would suggest not opening the window all the way. one thing to note -- the stairway up to the rooms is a bit narrow, which makes bringing up suitcases a tight squeeze. alan was kind and carried our suitcase up the stairs.
