We had an incredible stay at the Crab and Boar. This was our second time visiting but first time staying in an indulgent room- the room was beautifully decorated & the covered hot tub was the perfect way to end the evening. I didn’t sleep fantastically due to the noise from the road- the widows to our room were directly facing the road so not sure if this would have been specific to the room. We dined in the restaurant where the food was outstanding and really reasonably priced. The service we received was also incredible despite it being an obviously busy evening for the staff. Breakfast was lovely. I would 100% come back here again and have already recommended to family and friends.

The Crab and Boar is a gastro pub with rooms, the setting is beautiful with gorgeous homemade food, served with a polite efficient service. The food was excellent quality considering the reasonable price we paid. Could not fault 5*

Lovely little pub/hotel, excellent food, locally and seasonally produced cooked very well, the hot tub was wonderful, the staff were very helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. The rooms are looking a little tired but I’m told there is a full bedroom refurbishment this winter so we can’t wait to go back and stay again. Louis was very helpful and informative

When I booked I thought it was going to be really special and luxurious. Sadly the room smelt of drains when we arrived, this dissipate over the evening as we showered and flushed the loo. The room had clearly had a problem with flooding so the bottom of door frames and bathroom furniture was rotten. Tiles missing off the wall and bathroom door didn’t close properly. There was a lovely pod coffee machine in the room- no pods😏 No attention to detail sadly let this place down. With a few improvements it could be a really special romantic night away.
