We stayed for three nights for a post Covid-19 lockdown break from home. We couldn't have made a better choice.

Check-in was via the Internet snd we simply had to pick up the keys to our Junior Suite at reception (glass screen and tasteful 2m distance markers, with plenty of hand disinfectant gel in all public areas).
The suite had been deep cleaned and was spotless. The bed was huge with great linen and superb pillows. The A/C was efficient. The living area house the tea and coffee making facilities. The bath was deep and filled quickly, the rain shower and hand shower had a good flow of water. The Laura Ashley toiletries were superb.
Due to the covid-19 pandemic, the room was not serviced daily and staff were not allowed into the room once we had occupied it. However, they were very prompt in bringing new towels, toiletries, tea bags, milk, ice bucket etc. to the room when requested.
The breakfasts were superb and we were served daily by Syed with a smile and bonhomie. Harry who tended the bar but also helped in the restaurant was great too...as were ALL the staff throughout the hotel. The dinner menu was limited (understandable in the current circumstances) but the food was very good
We also had Afternoon Cream Tea and this was excellent with a great choice of teas, superb warm plain & fruit scoces with jam and clotted cream and a good selection of delicate finger sandwiches and petit fours. In short, a perfect afternoon tea in terms of quality, quantity and ambience.
We had a wonderful stay and enjoyed our daily walk to and in Burnham Beeches Nature Reserve. We have no hesitation whatsoever in recommending this hotel to fellow travellers.
Keep it up, Burnham Beeches Hotel staff and management!

I stayed last weekend and I have to admit I was quite nervous about a night away, I’m sure like many people right now. My husband had booked it for my birthday celebration, the gesture was lovely as we were meant to be on holiday for my birthday in Mexico. I felt like I needed to be brave and I’m so glad I did, as the hotel staff could not do more for us. From the initial booking they reassured me with measures in place which were clear from arrival with markings on the floor for social distancing, hand sanitiser points, staff wearing masks and gloves with lots of signage around making it easy to locate the bedroom and more importantly the bar/ restaurant.

My first meal out since the beginning of March and it was everything I was hoping for and more. The food was fabulous, I did tell the waiter to pass on to the chef but I know sometimes this feedback can be missed. Our waiter was so friendly knowing it was a special occasion they genuinely seemed interested in us having the best evening with their personal recommendations from the menu. The duty manager also over the weekend was so welcoming and nothing was too much for him.

Excellent stay will definitely be back.

Burnham Beeches is such a lovely hotel. It is a gorgeous building set in peaceful gardens with plenty of parking. The restaurant is really excellent. Breakfast is rather normal for these odd times, with wrapped croissants and muffins rather than warm ones, but things are not as they were. The cooked food is excellent, though. Breakfast can be whatever you want really, made up from the items in a traditional English breakfast. Dinner was really something. The hotel restaurant boasts Two AA rosettes and you can see why. I have to admit I enjoyed the food so much I actually forgot to take photos 😊.
The room was lovely too. We had a superior double in the newer part of the building. It was stylish, relaxing and very comfortable with air con if you wanted it. We stayed two nights and we were told that the room would not be serviced during our stay to help cut down on excess people coming in. I've never found replacing my duvet cover that arduous and a change of towels under normal circumstances, isn't really necessary on a two night stay. That said when you asked for anything to be topped up, it was plentiful in a lovely courtesy bag- Toiletries, tea, coffee, biscuits, water etc. The bar and lounge area was very comfortable with table service being required. That said some people still didn't get it and queued at the bar! We even had a live singer on Sat night who was really very good indeed. There were plenty of sanitising stations around the building and even special impregnated pads on the doors where you pushed them. Brilliant idea. But the real joy of the place is the staff. Nothing is too much trouble. The reception staff are helpful and knowledgeable. Even before we got there when I had occasion to call, they were amazing. It was our anniversary on the day we got there and they had arranged a beautiful pair of swans in towels for our bed.
Our waiters were so lovely and helpful and a special shout out has to go to Harry and George who are both from Greece. They were so welcoming and obliging they really made mealtimes special.
We would not hesitate to stay there again if we were to go back to the area a second time. We'll worth the visit.

We have stayed at this hotel for three nights. We were not too sure about going away due to Covid 19. From the mint we arrived, we felt at home. The staff were all 5 stars. they really go way and beyond to make you feel relax and safe. our room was very clean and beautiful. The little extra measures they do to make you feel safe is wonderful.
all the rooms are sealed before you arrive, the toiletries are all wrapped even the remote control is wrapped, most of the staff are wearing PPE but this does not stop them to make you feel at home. The hotel ground is beautiful we had a complimentary cream tea on arrival on the ground and we ended up staying there for the whole day.
Harry was just amazing. We really didn't want to leave. Thank you so much for a wonderful weekend

Booked though secret escapes lovely hotel set in its own grounds had a choice of rooms so we stayed in a ground floor family room 30 seconds away from reception and the bar/ restaurant never been this close before we normally end up at the furthest point away and up 3 flights of stairs.
Room was a bit small if you had a family but great for a couple could not fault the saftey measures with hand sanitisers every 10m or so.
Hotel is set in its own grounds with a good sized car park the road to and from the hotel if you go out and about is a bit narrow in places and the drivers in the area are a bit reckless,(not use to london area traffic coming from a place where 4 cars in front of you is a traffic jam).
Food in the hotel restarant was lovely, freshly prepared and hot, staff could not be more helpful at dinner, breakfast, reception and especially the bar area(thanks to Felicity who made us laugh). Great hotel for a short break with plenty of attractions in and around the area Harry potter, rauld dalh, henley on thames etc.

This was a celebration for our anniversary and I’m afraid we were both quite disappointed. We chose it for the 2 AA rosette ranking of its restaurant but it just didn’t deliver. We know the world has changed and we all have to adapt, but fish and chips, burgers and basically good pub food do not fit in with this supposed class of restaurant. Plus, the same menu was available in the bar, so the workers who were staying there ate the same food. I have no personal issue with that but when on a romantic break you don’t really want to hear them effing and jeffing whilst watching them licking their knife clean. I know the hotel industry has taken a terrible knock but certain standards should still be maintained if the normal clientele are to return. Having travelled extensively round the country for business, or to attend courses, the workers were what you would expect in a Days Inn or Premier Inn. Salt of the earth characters, but not typical guests really suited to the type of hotel that this establishment is trying to attract. Breakfast was little better, as it just didn’t look appealing. Breakfast for us is usually the highlight of a weekend away but we just ate it and left pretty quickly as it was just bland and not very well cooked. The staff were lovely and the evening meal was fine, but we could have eaten that type of food at our local pub and it would have been equally as good. The room was very nice and it was spotlessly clean but when we read the reviews we expected that standard to carry on throughout the property. Must do better, or when this is over the hotel will be tarnished and find it hard to attract the customers it once relied upon.

Myself and my Husband came to stay in August, on what should have been our honeymoon week which was cancelled due to covid.

Our room was quite small and extremely hot, we opened the window which was covered in cobwebs and dead flies on the window sill, to which we had smoke coming in from the smoking area below.

We booked a swimming session but the swimming pool was far too small for 4 people in which they allowed with their covid measures. I work in the hospitality industry and that just did not feel entirely safe.

We had dinner which was lovely along with breakfast, however staff seemed to wear their visors with the visor lifted up and not actually covering their face. Does defeat the object of wearing one in the first place. I also think food should be served with them wearing gloves.

Overall, not impressed with our stay nor how much it cost to stay there. Staff however very friendly, maybe just need a covid safety reminder.

I booked this for my husband’s 40th birthday. Our first impression was that the reception area looked quite tired and in need of redecorating. I had booked the loft suite, which was lovely, but there were no lamps. We grabbed a lamp from the bedroom to have better lighting for watching tv. Without this it would been like sitting in a bright kitchen and hard to relax.

We went down for dinner, I had paid £70 for the dinner to be included at the time of booking the room and had emailed the hotel prior to booking to check selecting this option covered dinner for 2 people for both nights. The hotel had emailed to confirm this was correct. I was surprised when the waiter came to me, whilst we were waiting for food, to inform me that try hey had no record of me pre paying for dinner. He told me to go speak to reception to clarify, so I got up from our table and left my husband sat there alone while I went to reception. Reception said they had forgotten to add it on. I went back, told the waiter and thought that was sorted.

The following day, we decided to have dinner in our room, which was no extra charge due to Covid-19 and trying to keep socially distanced. We realised items were missing from the menu which was odd. We called reception to clarify and were told they didn’t know but would find out. A couple of hours passed with no call, so we called again. We were told the same but this time they did call back and said the menu should be the same as the restaurant.

Food came and was lovely. We had not liked desert the night before so asked for this to swapped for fries and bread, which they did.

On checkout reception says we had to pay for our dinner. I said I wasn’t sure how many more times I would need to explain. I had emailed, spoke to reception when checking in, got up from dinner to speak to reception again and now, at checkout, they were still confused. They said nevermind and we left, but I felt very frustrated by the lack of organisation and communication. These types I of issues easily ruin a stay. Nothing is clear to guests or smooth running. Every member of staff seems confused.

We travelled nearly two hours for this hotel, but next time we will book nearer our area in the South West. We were happy with the room though and it did look like the pictures. The duck was lovely, but the constant left arm not knowing what the right arms doing spoilt it for me.

Good location, easy to find.

The staff is very friendly and helpful, a young black guy greeted us with a huge smile and helped us with the checking in.

We booked a “Gregorian room” which we got at first, but the heating was broken so they had to put us in a different room. It was sorted very quickly.
The second room we got was called a “luxury double room” which had a smaller bathroom (bath instead of the walk-in shower), but the interior design, the spacing and the view was much nicer than in our first room so we happily accepted it. The room and bathroom were clean and well equipped. The safe was a nice touch in the room.

The sauna was out of order, but the jacuzzi and the swimming pool were great. Friday evening nobody else used them so we had both to ourselves, on Saturday there were other guests using them as well but we still had opportunity to use them. Had a last swim before checking out on Sunday and there was only one other guest in the pool.

We had dinner in Brasserie 1727 on Friday, had to pre-book via email which was weird at first but the hotel confirmed our booking within 30 minutes and we had the table booked and the food we ordered reserved for us. We got everything we wanted. The drinks and the starters came within 5-6 minutes, the rest of the food came as soon as we finished the starters. No waiting around despite the restaurant was almost full. Everything we tried was beautifully prepared and delicious, the prices were reasonable and the waiter was very friendly and polite. Would definitely recommend. We also tried the breakfast on Sunday morning, you get everything you expect from a continental breakfast.

Overall we had a good experience, would definitely recommend to stay here for a relaxing weekend.

The team prides itself in ensuring that our guests have an amazing time with us thus going that extra mile despite some minor hiccups like heating(in the first room) and sauna not working to which I do apologise. On the other hand, I see that your dining experience and everything else was delightful. M1229PBpaull, thank you so much for your feedback and we do wish to see you again sometime soon. We had intended this hotel as a hub for visiting sutrounding areas. Not a great idea unless your driving. The roads on the drive out are dark country roads with no paths, so walking anywhere is not an option. Upon arriving reception attempted to charge almost double the cost of our room for three nights. They're booking system had booked us 3 x 3 course meals in error, this was quickly rectified and the correct amount charged. On checking out we had to settle some items that we had charged to the room. The bill was about 3 times the amount I expected. It turns out the payment I made upon checking in was never matched to our room. I had to supply my receipt as proof. We had also been charged for dinner twice. Again this was rectified quickly once I could provide proof of payment and obviously we hadn't eaten the same meal twice in one night. I would recommend keeping receipts and double checking charges.

We booked a superior double room. Our "double bed" was 2 single beds pushed together which was very uncomfortable. I really don't think you should call a room "superior double" when there isn't a double bed in there. The light over the bed was glass and was covered in a visible layer of dust. The paneling on the bath was water damaged and coming away on one end. The air conditioning also didnt work and it was quite hot. We were able to open the windows though thankfully. There were tea/coffee making facilities in the room and a good size telly which was great as we had a night in one of the nights. There was also bottles of still water in the room which were replenished each morning, this was very much appreciated.

We had booked a b&b rate and there was a good selection at breakfast which was done buffet style, a good way to start the day.

We had dinner on one of the nights and it really was delicious. We both had seabass and my husband says it's the best seabass he's ever had, cooked to perfection.
We had some nibbles in the bar one of the days and this food was delicious also.

The staff were all amazing. They couldn't be friendlier or more helpful.

Overall we found the room disappointing but enjoyed the hotel itself. It has a lovely warm atmosphere and we felt very comfortable and relaxed having drinks/dinner. We would happily return if staying in the area again but would definitely book a different room.
