Town Farm is a working farm run by the Leach family since the early 1930s. We opened a small campsite in the Spring of 2009. Each year since we’ve made small changes to improve our facilities and guest experience but we’re careful to hold onto our roots as a rural and non-commercial campsite. We’ll do our very best to ensure you have a wonderful stay in the Chilterns!

4th visit in 11 years. I’ve stayed here when single with friends, in a couple and now with a group of other families and this site goes from strength to strength. Wonderful views, spacious pitches, clean hot showers, fridges and freezers, a play barn and play areas for kids, visiting food vans, great local takeaways that deliver if you feeling lazy, fire pits for hire, Karsten and bell tents for hire, super helpful staff. The surrounding landscape is beautiful and fab country pubs are within walking distance. All this and less than an hour from north London.

I went back to Town Farm August 2023 for my second stay there and had to leave a review because it's just such a great place. The staff are so friendly and helpful and went above and beyond to help me out with a couple of things when I emailed them before and during my stay. There are several fields to choose from, so you can pitch in a busier spot nearer the facilities, or have the choice of loads of space to yourself if you want. The food truck which is there several mornings a week (Le Quench) was a lifesaver for great coffee! The showers, toilets, kitchen are all clean and nice to use. You can see some amazing sunsets and wildlife from the campsite. I didn't have a car with me, so last but not least - it's a short walk (10-15 mins) to Ivinghoe where there's a great pub (Rose and Crown) or a longer walk (30-40 mins) to a small grocery shop (Premier on Marsworth Road) or the Curiositea cafe where I had a great veggie breakfast. And Ivinghoe Beacon is across the road from the campsite. All in all - highly recommend!

I stayed at Town Farm campsite whilst working on a project at Watford . The campsite is extremely well equipped for well seasoned & camping beginner’s Equipped with Male & female toilet , shower blocks , campsite kitchen with fridges to keep your food item’s fresh as well as microwave ovens & kettles & washing up facilities. The site is well managed & offers fire pits for hire & can also supply timber. At the time when I was there was a visiting , pizza company , fish & chip Van & a breakfast van . It’s child & dog friendly, close to the Chiltern hills for great walls & a local village with a pub & a Tesco store for all those camp supplies. Definitely one of the best full service camping sites I have been to, best to book online as the site is very busy during the summer season.

Fantastic site; freezers, fridges, kettles and charging points mean no need for electric hook up.Toilets/showers were clean & warm. Helpful and friendly staff were always around to ask questions, providing fire wood. Lots of open space so you didn't feel on top of other campers. Great covered space with table tennis/table top football. Only thing they couldn't control was the weather :)

This is our third visit here (2019, 2021 & 2022) and although it's only a 40 min drive for us it feels like a million miles away. I love the views all around. You feel like you are really off the beaten track but at the same time, the campsite offer freezers, fridges, microwaves and kettles. It really helps when you aren't electric hook up. There's a games room which has table tennis and table football. Every time I have visited, the facilities have been spotless and I am extremely fussy. Unisex toilets and showers are handy. The staff have always been helpful from where to pitch, to supplying logs and kindling and just a nice team in general. You are next to a busy road and on the flight path to Luton. The road is like white noise so didn't bother us at all and the planes aren't noisy. My daughter kept asking us if they were shooting stars, so not noisy at all. Helps loads that the campsite supply big fire pits and the woods. The skies are so clear at night. Lots of stargazing opportunities. Pizza van was nice. Coffee van 50/50 😅, very expensive and I really didn't like the food at all. The coffee was okay this time but at approx £3.50 a go it's just not for us. Especially as the kids then want a hot chocolate at another £3 a go. Playground good for my two aged 8 & 6 and also when they were younger. My children made friends there every time. We've actually kept in touch two of the families over two of the years. Nice short walk to the Rose and Crown which is picturesque and the staff are friendly. I will try the food on the next visit!! Tescos is a ten minute drive away and we cycled To Premier Foods which was about 15 minutes away and they had a really good selection of food and household goods. We love climbing the Beacon. You can make it a short walk with an ice cream stop and take in some views. Always an enjoyable visit.

Noisy campers who seemed to be in large groupings of tents. Appeared to be London based by the accents, with no regard for others. The "hard standing" was next to a barn and completely unsuitable for a caravan. Would we return or recommend the site? Never! Great if you want lots of rowdy neighbours but not if you want some quiet. It was so bad that we booked another site and left after 15 minutes.

Response from Will Leach, General Manager at Town Farm Camping & Caravanning
Responded 31 Mar 2023
Hello, thanks for taking the time to leave a review. We're sorry to hear you cut short your stay due to the noise from other campers. We pride ourselves on being a quiet family site, with a strict no music policy - many of our guests continue to stay with us for this very reason - we're sorry to hear this wasn't your experience, unfortunately this issue was not brought to our attention. When issues like are raised with our team, we do our utmost to resolve them right away. In your case, we may have been able to offer an alternative pitch or to deal with the noise of the group. Our hardstanding pitches are indeed located next to the farm barn as per our planning permission, we don't claim otherwise on our website.

Been going to this campsite for about 10 years. It has always been good but every year they seem to have invested in some further improvement to make it better. Staff friendly, site clean and well run and location is excellent.

This is a fabulous and spacious dog friendly campsite with marvellous views and a great choice of where to Camp. We didn’t need a hook up so chose a more wild spot that wasn’t too far from the toilets. Friendly staff. Spotless toilets and showers. Warming fire pit. I would definitely recommend and am likely to visit again.

Excellent campsite, with great views and well located for local walking in and around Ivinghoe Beacon and the Ridgeway. Very clean facilities and excellent welcome from the staff. Showers etc very good. 10/15 min walk into Ivinghoe for a good pub and cafe.

Simple hassle free booking via the website. Brilliant email communication from the owners from start to finish, and even while we were there. Arrivals are well organised with a friendly greeting. Every single staff member friendly, professional, smiley and super sociable. Nothing was too much trouble. Facilities very clean all of the time, with plenty of hand sanitiser available too. Love the unisex block of showers and loos, great for parents if their child is the opposite sex. This is a great family site with an abundance of ‘things to do’ within easy reach, or a short drive to. An assortment of pop up food trucks, breakfasts, pizzas, fish n chips were great and most welcome. Couldn’t fault a thing, other than the odd batch of noisy, inconsiderate ‘nouveau campers’ we’ve come to expect as a result of Covid travel restrictions. Of course, this is outside the control of the site owners. All in all, a brilliant week’s family camping for us. We will certainly be back
