Town Farm is a working farm run by the Leach family since the early 1930s. We opened a small campsite in the Spring of 2009. Each year since we’ve made small changes to improve our facilities and guest experience but we’re careful to hold onto our roots as a rural and non-commercial campsite. We’ll do our very best to ensure you have a wonderful stay in the Chilterns!

Stayed here a couple of nights recently so we could head to Whipsnade Zoo, had an electric hook up grass pitch which was right behind the main farm courtyard. Check in was easy with our stay paid for in advance & showed to our pitch by one of the staff on a little buggy - the staff greeting us were really friendly and nice. Facilities were good in general, very clean in these COVID times. Toilet block and showers were open. There was a separate room with wash basins, 2 large fridges, 3 large freezers, some microwaves, kettles and laundry - all a great perk. There was also a separate inside games room with some ping pong tables in. An outside park which was a decent size and some separate swings near reception. Also a small play trail that my young son loved. Fantastic views over the surrounding hills and an awesome sunset. Good walking trails close by and you can get to Ivinghoe on foot but didn’t do the walk. Whipsnade Zoo is about a 10 min drive away. The campsite didn’t have a shop and the nearest supermarket was in Tring about 15 mins drive away. A little take away van was available most mornings selling hot drinks, bacon sandwiches etc but did not use. They also can provide fire pits for a small hire charge which was a great idea. Site is quite high up on a hill and is quite open, pitches were quite small and not much separation, it was also windy even though the weather was quite good. Overall pretty happy, a shop would make this place great.

We spent two nights here in September 2020. Very lucky with beautiful sunshine.

The site is perfect. Beautiful views, large fields with lots of choices of pitch, quite busy but never cramped with lots of room between us and neighbours. The facilities are so clean and continuously being cleaned. Hot water for showers, great washing up area indoors with fridges, freezers, microwaves, kettles and PowerPoints. The staff were so helpful and friendly. A lovely coffee and breakfast van every morning with the most delightful ladies looking after us, and especially doting on our 3 year old daughter.

We loved that we could rent a fire pit and buy kindling/logs/fire starter at very fair prices.

The campsite strikes a wonderful balance between quality of and access to very good facilities, with the sense of truly being away from it all in the countryside. Just a fabulous place and cannot wait to be back.

Stayed one night on a bike packing trip with friends. Great welcome from a lovely chap and camped on the far left field. Rented a tent (lazy of me but THE best decision) could easily sleep 4 adults, had really comfy sleeping pads that I would happily swap my mattress at home for, and was spotlessly clean, hired a fire pit (had a handy grill top) and sat on the picnic table to admire the view.
Fantastically clean toilets and showers with loads of hot water.
Highly recommend, I’ll definitely be back

I just got back from 4 days at Town Farm and couldn't have had a better time - great atmosphere, amazing views, clean facilities, and the staff were all so lovely, friendly and helpful.

When I asked to stay a night longer than I had booked, the staff were really accommodating and made it work even though they were already busy. They went out of their way to give me directions for nice walks I could do with my dog.

There was a breakfast van there every morning of my stay which was great, being able to get a coffee and hot breakfast every morning made it a really relaxing stay.

I was camping on my own for the first time and felt so welcome. I will definitely be back! Thank you so much!

This is our third visit here (2019, 2021 & 2022) and although it's only a 40 min drive for us it feels like a million miles away. I love the views all around. You feel like you are really off the beaten track but at the same time, the campsite offer freezers, fridges, microwaves and kettles. It really helps when you aren't electric hook up. There's a games room which has table tennis and table football.
Every time I have visited, the facilities have been spotless and I am extremely fussy. Unisex toilets and showers are handy. The staff have always been helpful from where to pitch, to supplying logs and kindling and just a nice team in general. You are next to a busy road and on the flight path to Luton. The road is like white noise so didn't bother us at all and the planes aren't noisy. My daughter kept asking us if they were shooting stars, so not noisy at all.
Helps loads that the campsite supply big fire pits and the woods. The skies are so clear at night. Lots of stargazing opportunities.
Pizza van was nice. Coffee van 50/50 😅, very expensive and I really didn't like the food at all. The coffee was okay this time but at approx £3.50 a go it's just not for us. Especially as the kids then want a hot chocolate at another £3 a go.

Playground good for my two aged 8 & 6 and also when they were younger. My children made friends there every time. We've actually kept in touch two of the families over two of the years.
Nice short walk to the Rose and Crown which is picturesque and the staff are friendly. I will try the food on the next visit!! Tescos is a ten minute drive away and we cycled
To Premier Foods which was about 15 minutes away and they had a really good selection of food and household goods.
We love climbing the Beacon. You can make it a short walk with an ice cream stop and take in some views. Always an enjoyable visit.

This site is by far the best I’ve ever been to. Loads of space, amazing views. Very good play areas for children. Staff are very friendly, I changed my booking several times and they were always very helpful and accommodating. The location is perfect for walks along the Ridgeway. ZSL Whipsnade is about 15mins drive away. Plenty of little villages close by with pubs, restaurants, take aways and shops. The site is very clean. Facilities are spotless. Great shower cubicles that are fully enclosed with a door. Plenty of hot water. You can rent fire pits and buy firewood from the site. I only live 30mins away in Aylesbury and this was a great find for me. From now this will be my short get away place.
Brilliant and fantastic.

Great place to stay. All staff very friendly and extremely helpful. They all looked after us. The fire pits to hire are a must to sit round, and the wood is pricey put burns so well. The showers, toilets and all amenities are so clean. I can highly recommend this site, it was our first camping trip and we will be back. Thank you Town Farm

I cannot praise Town Farm Campsite at Ivinghoe highly enough.

We were first time campers in a newly converted VW Caddy Van, so not too sure what to expect.
Also our daughter, husband & grandchildren had booked one of the Bell tents.

We arrived in possibly the worst weather imaginable, rain lashing down & high winds blowing whilst trying to attach an awning to the van, well you can imagine!

We stayed in our van & were meet outside the reception area, having phoned to announce our arrival. We were then lead to our reserved site.

We had ordered a fire pit, wood & grill (highly recommend) This was duly dropped off by very cheery lady.
The site is spotless. They are constantly cleaning the public washrooms, which given the circumstances was very reassuring.

The children's play area is a delight, the grandchildren loved it.
Bonus is the arrival of the coffee van, Le Quench for bacon rolls & best ever brownies. The ladies are so friendly.
There is also a Pizza man who arrives on Friday & Fish & Chip van arrives on Saturday. So if you don't feel like cooking you have options. Great addition.

Everyone was so friendly & helpful.
The most fantastic 360 views to behold.
Fabulous walks, literally on the doorstep

Two pubs within walking distance and of course Ivinghoe Beacon.

Cannot wait to return hopefully in better weather conditions.
We've already booked.

Thank you to everyone at Town Farm who work tirelessly to keep up the amazing standards.

We recently converted a ford transit to a camper and and we were keen to find somewhere local to test it out.

Fortunately my husband was lucky enough to discover town farm camping, and it was only 15mins down the road, perfect for us!

So we set off on our first child free weekend, we left a note on our booking at this is why we were visiting and the wonderful team made sure we had a very quiet spot with a lovely view to enjoy with a bottle of wine, it really did make all the difference for the visit, so a huge thanks to the team for that.

Despite Covid, the facilities were ready to be used safely and very clean.

We are keen to come back and stay with the dog and our 16 month old son to enjoy the play areas.

In the morning we walked into Ivinghoe via the footpath at the back of the campsite, really close lots of nice places to eat and drink, we had a full English at the cafe in the middle of the park.

A breakfast van was available on site on the Sunday morning but we weren’t convinced it would cure the hang over from the Copious copious amount of wine we consumed the evening before so it had to be a full English and buckets of tea job. But next time we come will definitely be using the food van for the coffee and some other bits.

Also stunning view and walks to be enjoyed!

Thank you to all the team we look forward to staying again soon!

Emily & Jamie

What a great campsite! We stayed in the new Town End field which had stunning views and much more spacious pitches than the other fields. A slightly longer walk to the facilities but totally worth it. Facilities were very clean. The playground and games room were a big hit with the kids. We also enjoyed the food vans although they were expensive but I guess they had a captive audience. There is road noise and planes going over head but otherwise this site is perfect and we will definitely visit again. Beautiful walking and lots of activities near by for the family. Our last visit was 7 years ago and the site has changed a lot for the better in that time.

Some people were using the sockets in the barn last time. They stayed with the phone whilst it was plugged in as there are no secure lockers

When staying at town farm campsite we had a very nice meal at the rose and crown in Ivinghoe. It was about a 10 minute walk from the camp site and remember to take a torch if going at night! The pub is family run and welcomes dogs that are on leads in the bar and beer garden.
