Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I was privileged to be the first guest since Nia has renovated the accommodation above this lovely country pub. I arrived to a warm and friendly greeting and was very pleased with my room which was spotlessly clean and tastefully decorated (neutral colour scheme/new oak flooring) and well furnished. The king size bed was very comfortable, soft pillows and brand new bed linen. The en suite bathroom was also newly installed and provided brand new towels. The evening meal was great and made even more pleasurable sitting in a lovely garden with wonderful views. Thank you Nia for making my stay such a good one, I look forward to many return visits. We came here for a meal with another family of friends a few weeks ago and had a lovely meal and time together. Beautifully situated in the middle of the village and with a small park for young children to play, it made the perfect place for everyone to have a drink on a summer evening before going in for a huge plate of well cooked countryfare. Most of us had steaks but there was a choice of lots of other lovely things like pizzas and curry – certainly fantastic value for money.
The newly and tastefully renovated pub had a lovely atmosphere; a great place for just popping into for a drink or a tasty meal. It is lovely to see the village pub come back to being a lively hub. Well done Nia - diolch.

I can honestly say that the lunch we had here was 1 of the best. Peter had the sirloin steak with homemade chips & coleslaw with salad & grilled vine tomatoes & peppercorn. I had gammon with chips pineapple, 2 eggs mushrooms & coleslaw. Paul & tracy also had steak, John had jacket potato with cheese & bacon with salad etc. Desserts came cheesecake with ice cream, biscoff waffles with ice cream then 2 apple crumble ice cream & custard. IT WAS LOVELY

My husband and I had Sunday lunch today. The pub has a lovely atmosphere and the fire added to the cosy feel. We received a warm, friendly welcome and the service and food were excellent; our lamb was meltingly tender and was accompanied by a wide selection of vegetables. Dessert didn't disappoint either! We'll be back.

We were made so welcome by Nia, all her staff and the local people. We had only intended on stopping one night so we could meet up with an old friend, and her son. After having an evening meal and being made so welcome we decided to stop another night. The room was big and spacious, the bed was king-size and very comfortable. The meals were generous portions and really tasty, hot and freshly cooked. We would highly recommend Wynnstay Inn to anyone visiting the area. We hope to return again.
Pete and Isobel.

Brilliant! Excellent service. Nia and her staff were brilliant. They went over and beyond to cater for us and even sourced Gluten Free food for our breakfast. The room was great and friendly locals mean that we will definitely go back. Thanks Nia and the team

Traditional village pub recently transformed by local girl Nia Lloyd. Great if you’re a Welsh learner too…fast becoming a “destination pub” ie word is getting out and people are travelling some distance for the food, ambience, welcome, accompanied…..ac yden, mae’n nhw’n siarad Cymraeg!! We were staying in a holiday house called Border Retreat (an amazing place!) and wanted to try a local pub. Wynnstay Inn was the closest to us and we were plesantly surprised, what a beautiful place with beautiful deco and roaring fire! We both had fish and chips and they were superb, so tasty, fresh and beautifully presented. The service was excellent too. Can recommend this place wholeheartedly!

We called in a couple of times during our week in Wales. The first time for drinks in the large beer garden, which has great views and also has a park and field for children to play in. We had a meal inside the pub on our second visit and the food was great, with lots of choice. Would recommend.
