Holiday Resort Unity is often celebrated for its clean caravans and engaging atmosphere, with modern entertainment options that enliven guest stays. However, the resort's service and noise level receive mixed reviews; helpful staff are sometimes overshadowed by incidents of unprofessionalism and noise disturbances.
The spacious and tidy rooms are a highlight, though some guests call out the need for better maintenance. While the location is generally seen as convenient, the additional costs for amenities and activities have led some to question the resort's value proposition.

Caravan was spacious we were a family of 8 it had four bedrooms and the best feature for me was the two toilets and two showers at opposite ends of the caravan well equipped kitchen microwave was good only downside was the oven took an absolute age to cook anything no numbers on the dials so food was either uncooked or burnt so would recommend using microwave and stove top only Bedrooms were as expected small but adequate, some of the single mattresses need to be changed springs were very noticeable when laying down but not to bad when placing a duvet under bed sheet for extra padding plenty of extra bedding available also bedrooms had quite a lot of storage space which was a bonus Overall caravan was good only thing I would have liked some sort of matt in the shower rooms for when you step out of the shower instead of soaking the floor had to incur a small expense and buy towels to stand on again good storage in bathroom you had a separate toilet and shower room also a better brush was needed to sweep properly I like to leave everything clean and tidy when I leave but struggled with the brush Overall caravan was nice would stay there again Caravan site was as expected everything was expensive club house drinks food and such like entertainment was of the same standard as you would expect for caravan site caravan site is quite big entertainment venue isn't particularly big best to get there early for a good seat bingo was popular they really need the screens to be all around the venue as when families are there it can sometimes be a bit noisy as expected and if you are sat at the top if the venue the screens are quite far away good choice of food and snacks nachos were great although varied in portion size One of the great things about the unity camp site was the hire shop I have mobility issues so brought my own mobility scooter but my mum and my daughter were able to hire a mobility scooter on the caravan site which was a godsend when my daughter hurt her ankle prices for hire again were quite high but had deals if you hired for the week I believe it was 90.00 for seven days not many sites have this Would stay with unity and use the same caravan again and the fact almost everywhere is dog friendly lots to do off camp fairground eating places markets carboots and splash swim park most within walking distance of the site market was good but as we booked for late August season was winding down so fairground only opened at the weekends Most of the employees were helpful and friendly a few weren't mainly in the entertainment venue, some were a bit rude

The campsite was well signposted and had a nice wide entrance for people towing (trailers or tents) to access easily. The staff in the reception were polite and friendly upon our arrival and the check in was smooth. The barrier was slow to rise to access the site but no issues. Our pitch was large and had the electric hook up and water supply nice and close. The communal facilities in our field (Brown field) were mostly clean, some people did leave mess behind in the toilets such as beer cans (in the mens), full sinks that weren't emptied or hair on the shower walls (in the ladies). The washing up area was inside too and was spacious enough. The laundry provision was good although a little expensive (£4 for a wash cycle), but had two washing machines, two tumble dryers and two ironing boards. We did not use this particular facility. The noise across the campsite at night was variable. There seemed to be no rules stated about when people should be quiet and respect other campers, so we had some nights where people were coming back to their tents/caravans at 23:45 shouting, laughing and talking loudly which woke us up. We went with two teenage children and did not make use of the entertainment (RJ's) as this was more geared up for small children, or the bowling/arcade as this again was small and noisy with lots of small children. There is a great park facility for children in the centre of the part but again, we had no use for this, but young children seemed to love it. Cars just need to take care as most children did not look for cars as they ran across the roads or cycled/used their scooters on the roads. The shop facility was fairly well stocked and clean and had a good mix of everyday and camping essentials. We ate at the fish and chip shop and pizza take away, both of which were ok and priced at a standard rate. Unfortunately, we did not find the bar staff friendly in RJ's, or the serving staff in the food outlets previously mentioned. Just saying, a smile goes a long way! We walked over to the Theme Park and Brean Splash to have a look. Both of which we had intended to go to whilst we were staying at HRU. However, we found these places were not for us. They are perfect for families with small children but not for our age group. So we didn't go there. There is a beach across the road from the campsite but it was raining when we went over to see it. But it was lovely to have the coast so close. As a base this was fine, we had some great days out in and around Somerset. The facilities are good, and mostly clean. However, we would not choose to return to this site again but can certainly see the attraction of it for families with small children.

We stayed here earlier in this month. I would t say there was enough to do for 2 weeks with kids unless you plan on spending nearly everyday doin the same activities. We stayed for a week and did everything on site/at the leisure park. The swimming and soft play were cheap enough at less then a fiver if your from The resort. The cheddar caves are half hour away. The theme park is aimed more at older children then toddlers but there are a few rides for them too (which is half price for resort stayers and £10 cheaper after 3pm). There's a 120+ year old ship wreak and an old Fort on Brean beach, you can walk around the wreak when the tide is out. The entertainment was great, the kids enjoyed it. Things on every night at and films for kids in the tavern at about dinnertime. Always something goin on. As some have said, there are drunk people walking about late at night but it's only the same as being abroad in a resort. Not the end of the world, if my toddlers can sleep thro it, its not that bad. The facilities on site are great, didn't know there was a pot washing station till the 2nd day which made things easier for us. Family shower rooms, toilets get locked at 8/9pm due to teenagers being teenagers. The park is brilliant, lots of things to do for different ages, it does close at when it goes dark, this I'm guessing is down to health and safety (coz we like to sue everyone). The shop and food outlets are abit on the expensive side (£60+ for 4 puzzas and a garlic bread) but that's usually the case for places like this so was expected, there's aldis/lidi/ tescos in the area too. There's laundry rooms too which came in handy as we have a toddler potty training. We came back a day early but that was due to the weather and we was camping with two toddlers and nearly 7yr old so decided to the pull the tent down on a dry day as it was due (and did) lash down the next day. We're were on the green field and the attendees were always on hand to help, esp antonette and bryan. We payed just over £500 for this holiday, for 5 of us in a large tent, (so we needed to pay for extra pitch space). We would deffo go again.

We had high hopes for this resort observing the friendliness of the staff and the fact that they promote to be a dog friendly resort - sadly we were both taken in by the sensationalised TV programme, Happy Campers, as the programme made it look idealic for me, my auntie and her dog but it was nothing like what we had seen. We arrived on 30.09.24 to 07.10.24 and the whole resort was marginally livelier than a morgue.
70% of the facilities were not dog friendly so we were limited on where we could go so had to spend most of our time in the caravan.
Only 80% of cafes, entertainment centres, ice cream parlours were not open or only open over the weekends which is not much fun for us who stayed a whole week. Theme Parks and crazy golf were all closed. If it wasn't for the "Country Festival" on the week we were there it would have been like a graveyard with empty caravans.
The caravan itself had been cleaned and kitchen / bathroom facilities were adequate but it lacked some home soft touches like bedside lamps, lounge coffee table and the table stool was broken which was noticed averting an accident. No hooks on doors etc to hang coats or towels.
The location of the resort meant walking vast distances to find places of interest or places to snack or drink. Car deffo needed.
On site supermarket was well over priced - £1.79 for a tin of Heinz Beans, which we refused to pay.
Master bedroom mattress was very hard / lumpy and uncomfortable . Upon booking I asked for the second bedroom to be made up as if it were a double bed as I am a big guy and it wouldn't be wide enough to be comfortable but this was NOT done so I had to sleep on the couch which very uncomfortable causing serious back issues.
Pizza parlour decided to close early despite advertised opening hours and the sea salt fish and chip shop were rude in telling us to hurry up whilst we were looking at the menu as they were going to close - how rude was that !
My experience with regard to the staff encountered, mostly the reception staff but hasten to say was well below the customer service levels we expected. Brash, no eye contact, distracted by colleagues and other things not associated with what I was asking. It was evident that the ground staff were not happy and didn't want to be there and were not motivated or trained to give customers the best experience they could. Upto the point of handing in keys on departure there was no interaction like how was your stay or a thank you. Found staff rude and the whole Leisure Holiday Park was run down, lacking signs and in need of substantial capital investment. Also what happened to "Chunky " as he wasn't to be seen but advised he left at the start of the 2024 season.
Come on owners put capital into your venture else you won't have a Leisure Park in years to come and end up like Pontins who closed down only down the road two years ago.

We've really enjoyed our 3 night stay. The reviews on here about noise almost put me off, but with ear plugs it wasn't a problem. We booked through Hoseasons and all correspondence was through Unity. The classic caravan we hired was immaculate. 2 rooms with 2 single beds and one with a double and en suite. We were lucky that ours was right next to the theme park entrance walkway and only 2 mins from RJs entertainment. They didn't provide any towels or tea towels so make sure you take your own. Staying at unity, you get discount vouchers from reception for wristbands so remember to ask for them as its not clearly advertised. It came to £103 for 3 people over 1.2m and 1 child under. We also used the soft play which was £6.50 for 1 adult and 1 child for 2 hours. And the splash park was great even though it was raining! That was £25 for 2 adults, 1 teen and a child. The outdoor play area is great, really big with football and basketball and BMX areas too. We went to Burnham for a Weatherspoons breakfast on the sea front which is 12 min drive. Everything here is easy to get to and easy to use. I would just make sure you bring ear plugs because the music from a venue off site was pretty loud until midnight. We didn't have any issues with kids noise or anything but our caravan was in the 900s area which seemed like the quietest part. Dogs are allowed in nearly all places including the fair and arcades. The whole area was very clean and tidy, no litter and grass well kept. Staff were friendly and the entertainment was great for the little ones. We would definitely return.

We stayed in a lodge on the country club.. the facilities in the lodge were great for self catering.. small washing liquid/couple of dishwasher tablets and one toilet roll in each bathroom +towels supplied, might be a nice idea to add shower gel/handwash into bathrooms.. the grounds are beautiful, we looked over the lake/golf course, so peaceful, no rowdiness at all, worth paying the extra to stay here if it’s peace and quiet you are after.. be aware that there is a fair walk to the entertainment in RJ’s.. Friday night a band, sadly can’t remember the name, but they were brilliant.. Saturday we had the Band Badness, yes you’ve guessed it a tribute to Madness, I had been lucky enough to see these previously on a cruise and they did not disappoint, they have to be one of the best tributes around /Sunday we had Showmaddymaddy (they were badness with wigs on 🤣) honestly they are just fantastic really entertaining, they played in the tavern which is located in the fair and is a little closer to our accommodation. To access the beach we headed through the fair and across the main road to find a walk through, sadly our seas do not mirror the blue seas abroad 🤦🏻♀️ having said that it is lovely to be by the beach.. there are lots and lots of dog walkers on the beach and I can honestly say I have never seen so many happy dogs lol running along playing 🤣.. as mentioned earlier the walk from the country club is a little longer than expected and my sister does have slight mobility problems so I would maybe suggest to Unity to provide transfers for people staying at the country club.. to and from RJ’s .. maybe golf buggies of some sort.. I think this would be really appreciated by occupants… we generally didn’t go out until around 9pm to see the tribute acts, and return back to our lodge around 1pm so it was dark walking along the road to get home. Check in.. this is all done automated..a couple of hours before your lodge is ready you will receive a text with a barrier code the same code is then used to unlock the key at the front of the lodge, you will see no one.. the site is huge so if you don’t know where you are going it can be a little frustrating, I had to make a couple of calls to reception asking for directions to the lodge.. Maybe a little map at the entrance gates would be useful. Also in welcome pack maybe include a small map locating key places I.e. entertainment/pathways /access points into unity site ..on the whole it was a lovely short break .

Accommodation- Geberally clean and modern but let down by mould patches throughout the caravan. For example we noticed mould running the width of the master bedroom.
More attention to the finer details required. For example we were regularly finding long hairs, dirt and grime in areas which had not been cleaned properly.
Staff - gave the impression they did not want to be there. Little things like offering to open doors for a single parent with a buggy would go along way. Too busy on their phones and I often got the impression that we were an inconvenience when asking questions. Staff wouldn't help with details of opening times for swimming, instead directing us to a website.
Facilities- guests had to pay to use the swimming pool for 45 minute sessions.
Be prepared to have to pay extra for basic facilities which are included at other resorts.
We paid twice for entertainment passes following incorrect advice from reception staff.
Entertainment - Average
They have potential but currently let down by unmotivated staff, and the resort trying to upsell everything possible.

We visit once a year at the same time with our young child & elderly family members. We book the Inspiration Lodge 8 VIP with Hottub, it gives us enough room & bedrooms for our party.
We arrived to find we are absolutely surrounded by a rugby tour (advised by reception its every weekend between march to may). We popped to reception at 6:30pm on arrival evening & voiced our concerns. The wardens almost got hit with a rugby ball as we were walking to reception. Upon our return children were climbing in & out of a toilet window to a locked lodge (occupied by the rugby tour) Reception were understanding & we were offered the beach bungalow at golden sands. Due to the time, upheaval we decided to give the rugby tour the benefit of the doubt so management kindly took the bungalow off sale for the night.
The noise was constant all evening, at almost midnight I had enough. I rang security who said he'd call in but had to drop bedding off elsewhere first so I personally went round & asked them to quietened down to which they told me they a rugby tour. Adults, teenagers all drunk & partying in & around 1 caravan.
Regardless of our young child & elderly family we also don't want to be kept up by others. It's not acceptable & unfair.
I rang security a further 2 times that night. The noise didn't stop until almost 2am. We were then up at 5am with our child. Following there was empty cider cans all over the floor & lagging off pipes that they were swinging around which was found under our car.
We moved to the beach bungalow on golden Sands. However frustrating to pack everything up to move all the family. Why should we of had to move due to others behaviour. We've wasted time back & forth to reception, up to golden Sands, stripping down bedding etc. Precious time out of our holiday.
Reception, wardens, security have all been brilliant. We won't be returning due to the same issues each year. I'll say the same as I said last year you will value the custom of those that bulk book lodges on a rugby tour & hit the bars compared to us who come once a year.
Unfortunately this is the second year in a row we have had issues with our break. I have spoken with customer services & awaited their response before I left a review. I have suggested the executive lodges are moved to a more quieter location. The beach bungalow was absolutely fabulous, was a quiet & we would consider this area at golden sands.

Been coming here for the last 10 years, every year this place has gone down. The club house RJs and amenities surrounding the park itself are very outdated and the whole place in all honesty could do with a refurb. I'm no snob and I love a good caravan holiday but this year has put me of going back again.
Caravans were spotless and cleaners did an amazing job in looking after them. Only down side is the flimsy mattresses in the bedrooms, thin and worn out. I'm a slim girl and could feel every spring so was very uncomfortable to say the least....this was in a premium caravan aswel. The amount of noise around the site after midnight was a joke. They need some form of security patrolling to ensure it's noise that can be quickly resolved. Staff in general were lovely but we had an incident with the reception staff. When we got home we realised a bag and board games had been left in the living room cabinet...I made reception aware of this, they told me to call back on the Friday as no one will be going in till then. I called reception on that Friday to be told that a member of staff would have a look in lost property for me and give me a call back with in the hour. Days had passed and still no call. I called them again and explained the situation to be then put on hold for 10 minutes. When the lady finally spoke to me she said nothing has been found and was very adamant I was making it up. I questioned her explaining that it got reported straight away and therefore if the items are not there someone who had gone into the van after us must of seen them...I then continued to say surely your cleaners check in there....so some how my stuff disappeared in to thin air...I found this so un professional. All I wanted was to pay for my items to be posted out to me, not asking much is it....but no im deluded and making it up....so there for I will never be back

Another great year at unity. Swimming was great Soft play was great Arcades are great special mention to Jade and Izzy! Made us feel super welcome. Could see them working hard filling up the machines and fixing the 2p change machine. Made my son super happy when he won the jackpot! The country lodges are always super clean and spacious. Staff member in the country club think it was the manager not sure of her name made us feel super welcome and food was good value. Rjs was great the kids loved it. Overall really good value for money and a lovely place to stay.
