Had a very relaxing long weekend. Hosts were very attentive, breakfast sets you up very well for the day. Fire pit for those who love to just sit and relax of an evening is a bonus. I slept like a log every night I was there, woke up to bird song which made me want to stay longer.

Nothing like I would normally choose to be honest but I’ve had an obsession with gypsy wagons since I was a kid , really quirky and fun with such lovely hosts including Fred the dog , such a beautiful , peaceful setting alongside a pretty brook . The wagon was comfortable I was totally fascinated by it all unfortunately I didn’t sleep well but I never do ,the owner kindly left me lavender products had a fantastic breakfast sat outside .which they kindly bring to you . The showers were great , very clean . A lovely pub just a short walk away The New Harp and The Lough pool a bit further but worth the walk . We were booked in for 2 nights but ended up going home after 1 as I wasn’t feeling great ( over indulged 60th birthday celebrations ) will defo return . Highly recommend going into Ross on Wye and doing the Hoerwithy circular walk which the hosts printed out for us sadly we had to cut short as I was feeling ropey 🤔🤣

Let’s start with the positives;
Idyllic rural location in the nature
A lot of potential to become something very special
Waggons are spread out and have outdoor privacy
Ok here’s the “room for improvement”
Better signage for the accommodation so you know where to turn off the lane and park, and where you are supposed to check in.
Initial check-in greeting was very indifferent and not warm, no service with a smile.
Waggon was run down hasn’t seen a broom or cloth in a long time, it looked so sad and neglected.
Outside dining table not wiped clean, hammock covered in nature’s debris, outside fire pit still greasy pan from previous guests. We felt like we were not welcome. The self-compost toilet was an absolute disgrace (poo
& paper from previous guests) the toilet cabin had not seen a brush in a long time, full of cobwebs. I know we are in the nature but honestly it’s all about maintenance and keeping on top of things. For £120 a night i would expect that whatever outside facilities are being offered should at least be useable upon arrival and not looking like noone has cleaned anything in months or not cleaned from previous guests.
We were so disappointed because this was part of our one week summer holiday we decided not to stay as we would not be able to relax and feel comfortable. We had already paid up front so we didn’t feel guilty for leaving without staying for at least one night, and i was too upset to get into a debate with the owner about asking for a partial refund. We stayed in a hotel down the road instead. The fact that we were the only ones staying in peak summer season also gave us a hint that this place has probably seen better days.
The website creates a wonderful outdoor nature paradise expectation but the reality is very different to the photos on the website. Such a shame ! We were so looking forward to it and in the right hands this little place could be wonderful…

My family and I booked out the site for two nights at the start of July. Let me start by saying that it’s a lovely spot and the gypsy wagons are very beautiful. But, as some other reviews have mentioned, it is not very clean and pretty rundown.
The toilets in particular were unsanitary, with old dried pop on them, and my wife’s one was partially blocked with toilet paper and poo. We are used to compost toilets, but this was not remotely sanitary.
Anyway, my daughter got very sick after the first night, and whilst we can’t be 100% sure whether this was from the facilities, it’s seemed very likely. She was so ill I booked my wife, daughter and the baby into a nearby hotel for there second night instead.
I wrote to the owner prior to leaving this review to ask for a partial refund for that night, and he was quite unpleasant about it. So, all in all, a real shame, as with some more care and cleaning it could be lovely.

this was our last stop of our trip, which we were so looking forward to. booked two nights. Arrived and was given flask of milk and returned with two bags of butter, coffee sugar and jams. went to make a cup of tea and the cups were old and dirty. i took them back and were left two clean ones plus a bottle of wine. we then opened a drawer to put our things in and it was full of old jams and milks etc. Unfortunately it looked shabby and unkempt with wood falling off the wall. the banister was wobbly and did not feel safe going up and down. there was no lock on the door. Went for a meal and decided we did not want to stay and had we not had a drink we would have left. the outside had not been cleaned from previous people with potatoes strewn around the camp fire. Got up at five and left after one night. never again. did not live up to pictures.

Response from Wriggles Brook, Owner at Wriggles Brook Gypsy Wagon B&B
Responded 18 Sept 2020
Sorry you didn't enjoy your stay but your perceived experience is so different to 99% of our guests. The rail on the steps is rubber mounted as the wagon is on leaf spring suspension and therefore would shear if clamped to the wagon. I'm sorry you couldn't easily get into the bed, most people find it ok. Any reason you were rude to the staff in the prub?

Was really looking forward to this break away from it all with my partner. Booked our break in June '22 for May '23. Put down a deposit and received my confirmation. When it came time to pay the rest of the money I found out that the caravans were not being let out at all. No one got in touch with me to tell me this , I had to find it out for myself. Had to find alternative accommodation for the same dates elsewhere.

The pictures are not an accurate representation of Wriggles Brook. Yes the caravans are beautiful but outside the van there was a broken bench to sit on with broken candle lanterns. The wrought iron chairs had green mould on them. The composting toilets could have been thought out better. The worst thing for us was the rat running around the vines in the dining room!!! The man in charge seemed to have little time for our concerns, we feel this establishment is running on a reputation gained a while ago, possibly by different managers. We left a night early.

+1
Looking for an unusual, unforgettable treat for my fiancee's 40th birthday, we booked to stay in a bowtop caravan at Wriggles Brook Gypsy B&B. I had heard so many wonderful reviews of this place... it was even greater than we imagined.
The breakfast were huge - more than enough to keep us going through lunch and into the evening! Three courses, all generously proportioned and beautifully cooked and presented - with the added treat of knowing that all the food was local (some of it grown on the site itself!). We had also pre-ordered an afternoon tea for when we arrived - a huge three-tier cake stad full to bursting with sandwiches, cream teas and various cakes, which defeated us! Every bite was delicious, and the portions massive. On our last night there, we had also pre-ordered the evening meal - a chicken pot pie with seasonal veggies. Possibly the finest pie I have ever eaten, and certainly the biggest, this meal was utterly magnificent.
The site is very well arranged - there is a shower block, indoor eating area, indoor cooking area and a small car park to the rear. The caravans themselves are completely self-reliant - each has its own outdoor, environmentally friendly toilet - and all have a bucket of tea lights by the door to use on the supplied outdoor table and chairs. Logs and firelighters are supplied for the outdoor fire area, and hammocks and an outdoor tripod cooking cauldron are also supplied. This is a magnificent place to come and relax for a mini-break - it is so peaceful and quiet here, and the nearest pub is a half-mile amble away down a quiet country lane. Nearby attractions include shopping in Ross-on-Wye, book-shopping in the legendary Hay-on-Wye, but it's so relaxing and magical on the site that you won't want to leave.
There have been some complaints on TripAdvisor about this place. Well, the site is designed to be as self-replenishing, reneweable and environmentally friendly as it can possibly be - and that means it's not a 5-star hotel where you are waited on hand and foot. You will get creepy-crawlies in your camp area, and tree blossoms falling in your outdoor dinner on a windy day. The eco-toilets don't flush - but the waste is used for energy, so you are helping the planet by NOT flushing. It's a camp site, not a hotel, so you have to expect it to be very close to nature. The hosts Jane and John-Paul could not be friendlier, their cooking is second to none and the campsite is discreet, romantic, charming and utterly magical. We will be back very soon. This place is the best kept secret in Britain - it deserves to be seen.

Sorry I wouldn't know if there is availability for that date and to be honest the owners would be able to give you more advice about the caravans. However I think the showman caravan was said to be suitable for families so must have sufficient beds..mine was quaint little caravan with one small double.
thanks guys, can't wait till you come back home xx
