Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Carol was a fabulous host, the accommodation was spacious and we had plenty of home comforts. The old mill is welcoming from the start and while the pub was shut Carol stepped in and managed to rustle up some food with extreme short notice which was very much appreciated. She went out of her way to ensure our stay was great. We would most certainly look to stay here when revisiting in the future. Thank you very much to you both for having us!

We've been to stay at the Old Mill for over 30 years, and the place has always been very comfortable and homely. Carol is an excellent host, friendly and welcoming - even providing a hot drink on arrival, much appreciated after a long drive. The village is generally quiet, our sleep wasn't disturbed in any way, and it was only the thought of breakfast which encouraged us to head downstairs.
We intend to return early next year...

Carol and Maurice were the complete hosts catering for everything I could ask for. Great breakfast and comfortable bed with the Old Harp pub on the other side of the road serving excellent food and ales and only a couple of minutes from Stan Turners Aramstone fishery. What could be more perfect?

Always stay here when fishing the Wye. Its not changed over the years but it makes a perfect base and Carol the owner is a lovely person.
First class breakfast, easy parking, en suite facilities plus a good pub across the road.
Couldn't ask for more

Stayed with family who have been coming for many years. Made really welcome. Very comfortable rooms, lovely walking in the Wye Valley out from the doorstep. The breakfasts are fantastic! Will be very happy to come back.

This is one of the loveliest bed and breakfasts I have ever stayed in. We turned up wet and tired from a day on the river but out stuff was stored for us and we were welcomed with tea and cake and felt at home immediately. The hostess was lovely, the whole place immaculate but homely and the breakfast was delicious. Stay here!

We found this B&B online prior to our travels, and were very much surprised by how little their website does justice to the actual place. Nestled in a beautiful area, the views are gorgeous, cottages surround it, chickens and horses and a beautiful church right around the corner. Just taking a little walk around the area is a feast for the eyes. We had a lovely time. Our room was great, well stocked and very clean. The shower left something to be desired, but is worth the sacrifice for the experience. The food was delicious, including fresh eggs picked up by our host in front of our own eyes from the chicken coop. All in all a LOVELY experience - I would recommend this place in a heart beat.

I just enjoyed a very brief stay with Carol in this picture-perfect bed and breakfast. I was made to feel extremely welcome on arrival, and my room was just perfect - clean and cosy. Breakfast was excellent - and the fresh strawberries, raspberries, blueberries and yoghurt - were a great change from the usual fruit salad. I wish I could have stayed longer but plan to return to explore the beautiful countryside and enjoy the hospitality.

Arrived on the Friday evening to be greeted with Tea and the owner's homemade Honey cake, which I understand wins awards! The cottage to the rear of the main buildings was just fantastic. Clean, nice furnishing with everything you could want or need. The bathroom was outstanding and the beds comfy and spotlessly clean. Now, I travelled with a real foodie mate who just will not do poor food, not a problem here! The breakfast in the morning was outragiously fantastic.
Fresh fruits, 4 kinds of Yogurts, cereals, toast and then a beautiful cooked breakfast.
All this from hosts who were charming and had time to be interested in the guest but not too much. On the second day we were to leave at the crack of dawn fishing so told Carol we would be skipping Breakfast, having none of it Carol insisted on cooking us Sausage sandwiches to take with us!! Wow! In fact when i told her I would be leaving a review she told me it wasn't entirely necessary because if we liked our stay we would return...indeed all the other guest we spoke to had returned time & time again. Truley 5 stars and shows that the art of real hospitality
and honest care is still out there. Carol we will be back. Amazing value *****.

I've lost count the number of times we've stayed with Carol. It really is a home from home. Tea and cake on arrival & a genuine warm welcome. The Old Mill offers B&B and two self catering options. Whatever you choose you will not be disappointed. The Old Mill has rooms which are extremely comfortable and have individual character. The self catering cottages are superb for longer stays. Carol cooks a fantastic breakfast with local produce (the eggs are from her own chickens) The local area is beautiful so walks are plentiful. Be sure to visit Symonds Yat and the Black and White villages. I recommend you come and enjoy for yourself!
