Kind of sad that tourists should need to eat in places like this. We arrived 2 weeks out of season, but still.... Menu us super simple: hamburger, sandwich or sausage. Norway is better than this. There is not so many places to choose ftom here....bring own food is best.

It is in spectacular surroundings located camping. What else could You want for Your view, thant a dozen of waterfalls around, high rocks, fjord, and pieceful village with the soft and green grass for Your tent. There are few benches with the table for the picnic. Also great and bar with a great bartender from Riga, who is willing to... More

I have been staying at White House for a week, and did not meet Obama here.. but a lot of nice smily people. This must be heaven for base jumpers, who are really nice people. We even got to follow a boat out to Geitaneset to see the base jumpers come down and land. The room was clean, as well... More

We stayed here the night before our hike to kjerag...the view is absolutely breathtaking. Costs about 210 NOK per night for two people camping and a car. In addition to this it is about 2 pounds for a 4 minute shower. The facilities i.e. shower and bathrooms are not the best. Still recommend as the view is fantastic at sunset... More

Cheap place for stay if yours standards are not to high. Beautiful area where the camp is situated, nice staff, short way to kjerag. If you are driving from other place it can take long. The last 32km is so narrow at it took me one hour to drive there. You must wait for ongoing traffic or drive back if... More

The location is exceptional...right on the fjord at the foot of a beautiful waterfall! However, that is pretty much all this campsite has going for it. Stayed here one night in our campervan to try and hike Kjeragbolten but it was too foggy. Our electric hook up worked fine. Internet from the nearby pub was patchy at best. Didn't use... More

Awfull sanitary condotions. Stinking dirty toilets. And the showers are the same. No posibillity to empty chemical toilets. Wifi unstable. Seems like they are floating on their monopoly situation in this end of the fjord. If coming back to visit this region, I will surely find another place. Thankfully there are campsites located in the other end of the fjord!

We have come here to camp for the last 3 years. This year when we arrived we were pleasantly greeted by the wonderful staff and were happy to see there are new amenities! The bathrooms have been remodeled with upgraded toilets. The showers have also been remodeled with nice showerheads and tiles. The new tile floors make it easier for... More

I have spent about a month every year here for the last 3 years. One of the most beautiful places on earth! Awesome staff and great facilities. They have been upgrading the kitchens, bathroom and showers every year. Prices are very reasonable . (remember this is Norway). Hiking, fishing, kayaking, BASE jumping, paragliding, and speedflying all steps from your tent, hostel,... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Kjerag-Lysebotn Camping Resort is beautifully situated innermost in the famous Lysefjord in Forsand in Ryfylke. Flowing right by the camp is a river where eager fishermen catch trout and salmon, and where you can take a refreshing swim on a hot summer day. Towering above is Kjeragfjellet, with its boulder wedged a thousand metres above the fjord. We offer six cabins, plus facilities for caravans (e.g. electricity) and tents. In addition, there is a hostel with seven rooms and a shared kitchen and we also have Kjerag-Lysebotn B&B, with six double room. Our popular cafe and pub has indoor and outdoor tables. Licensed for beer and wine. We also serve food. While enjoying your meal or refreshments, you can watch hardy base jumpers land on the trampoline nearby. Not to be missed! . Our resort is the favorite base camp for visiting the famous Kjerag stone, 1000 meters on top of the fjord. We also manage the spectacular scenic Oygardstol (Eagle's Nest) restaurant and cafe, right on the rim of the gigantic cliff. It is open mid-May to September included. ... more   less
