Thank you 97sandrah for your loyalty and continued support, fabulous photos of your dinner in the snug, it is a great little room off the old bar (seats x 8 max) for a quieter 2 AA Rosette dining experience but also handy if you have a 4 legged Molly friend with you. Room 10 is also a fabulous dog friendly room, with it's own exterior door out to the patio and lawned area. I am sure we will welcome you back soon. BW Lucy

A beautiful building with a warm welcome from professional, friendly staff.
Well maintained, the public rooms and bedrooms are totally in keeping with the
age of the building but have every modern convenience to make your stay as comfortable and luxurious as possible. Just a really great place run by management with high standard who obviously create great morale amongst their staff to deliver a first class guest experience. Stylish, upmarket, traditional with a odern twist 'Washy' as it is affectionately called ticks all the boxes. Hats off to the brigade in the kitchen as we had a fantastic meal. Fine dining is often 'anything but',however, these guys really know their stuff and place emphasis on great local produce cooked to perfection. Super comfy rooms and just what we needed away from the madness of London and The South. Covid rules scrupurously observed which mad everyone feel realxed and comfortable. The Gardener's a strange chap - a real gentleman, but obviously delusional as he thinks owns the place!

Richard4221 - thank you for your fabulous review, this would entice any newcomer to experience a stay at Washy hall! Thrilled to read your review and even more delighted to be married to the gardener/owner. A true gentleman that wears many hats, mainly office bound but we occasionally let him out to do some gardening. You've made his day! I am very proud to pass on your fantastic feedback of our wonderful team, the food getting special recognition. A unique little hotel, dog friendly (yours are cute!) that packs a punch above it's 3 stars. Please do spread the word and come back soon. BW Lucy

26/10/2020 karen and I got married in this beautiful setting lucy and her staff were amazing the location both picturesque and quaint was perfect for a wedding, everything was perfect and ran like clockwork, the waitresses were very attentive and nothing was to much trouble, the food was out of this world with the chef Harry cooking a treat fit for royalty, nothing was a burden and Helen looked after all our needs, she was amazing, the buffet all I can say is the pork terrine was to die for, and again the next day breakfast was out of this world and the young waitress was professional and attentive she never stopped always there supplying us with whatever we asked for.
I can honestly say it was a pleasure to pay our bill both me and my new wife could not praise the location and staff enough, would I recommend washingborough hall absolutely 100% over and over again, so get your wedding booked you will not regret it and you will remember your day forever. Thankyou Lucy and your excellent team xx

Although the hotel can be busy with weddings and other events it retains a calm atmosphere. The staff are very friendly and nothing appears to be a trouble if a request is made.
Our room was comfortable and a fan was provided, which was a great help during the recent hot weather. With the hotel being situated off a side road there was no noise disturbance overnight.
There are a number of dining venues for guests and you may eat in different rooms on different days depending whether there is an event taking place. The A La Carte menu is fixed for three months but there are daily specials, although they did not change during our stay.
Being located just outside of Lincoln it is in a perfect location for visiting the city and surrounding area.

Thank you tr250man for taking the time to place your review. Wonderful praise for the team, praise they deserve. The a la carte menu is due to change at the end of July, exchanging some more seasonal dishes, taking us into September. We certainly are well placed for travelling into Lincoln or maybe further a field to the coast, with the new eastern by pass on the doorstep. Please do spread the word of Washy Hall and visit us again when passing through. KR Lucy

The staff are a large part of the reason this place is so good. Calm but friendly in everyway. They comfortably deal with all of the COVID issues without making a big fuss.
The food is top notch and presented wonderfully. We stayed overnight on Saturday in room 19 and breakfast was served to the same standard as the evening meal.
Keep up the good work and you will be rewarded with more good comments.

Visited for our wedding anniversary and had high hopes from the reviews on trip advisor. Unfortunately I am mask exempt and had a negative experience with a member of staff who insisted I should be wearing some kind of lanyard to prove my exemption. This was not only incorrect according to the law and government guidance but was completely unnecessary and confrontational given I had just returned from taking my daughter to the bathroom in which I encountered no guests or staff.
When I raised concerns with management they were dismissive, apparently, and I quote, they aren’t mind readers. A pretty poor excuse, its one thing to respectfully remind paying guests to wear a face covering in public areas, but it's completely inappropriate to then not believe them because they haven’t got a lanyard hanging around their neck. Perhaps both management and staff should familiarise themselves with the government guidance on face coverings.
The hotels Covid policy seems a little over the top compared to other hotels we’ve visited. All public areas are closed so there is nowhere to go other than your room or the restaurant. The rooms have been stripped bare with few amenities, I found the bedroom a little cold and could have done with a blanket or bathrobe of which there were neither. Basic amenities were also missing like tissues and shower caps.
Overall with the covid restrictions leading to the common parts of the hotel being closed and the rooms feeling fairly basic this was not the warm welcoming trip we had hoped for. Coupled with the rude staff member who clearly didn’t believe I was exempt from wearing a mask we would not return nor recommend, if you are mask exempt please find somewhere else. You will not find a warm welcome here.

Dear KittyM83 - This is my full reply to your complaint on email. Good evening XXX Thank you for your email. I believe now, having read the guidelines again, that we were wrong to query your lack of mask wearing, due to having an exemption. I am sorry that this upsetting situation arose during your stay with us. We opened on the 5th August and we are carefully treading our way in these very strange and difficult times for business – your situation is a first for us. We are not the COVID police but we are trying to observe the guidelines and protect our guests and team members. The details taken on booking, in this situation are not easy to pass over to the whole team that interact during a stay. I don’t believe Esther was intentionally begin confrontational, just querying, we are not mind readers and lots of guests forget to wear/carry masks, with the rules changing regularly, this is no surprise. We will keep trying our best, but this is obviously extremely challenging as the guidelines change weekly. Kind regards, Lucy Your detailed TA review, highlights how seriously we are taking this pandemic to protect our guests, team and business in these extraordinary difficult times. Thank you for your review. KR Lucy

We loved our stay at Washy Hall. All aspects of our stay were just what we needed. It’s in a great location, a quiet village but only 4 miles from Lincoln.
The staff couldn’t do enough for us and provided a very friendly service, paying attention to the details.
The hotel accommodated around 100 for us in the afternoon with a fresh buffet. My husband and I had an evening meal in the restaurant on the Saturday which was top class, accompanied by a very reasonably priced bottle of wine. Compliments to the chef and thank you to all the staff.

Where to start?!
We stayed at Washingborough Hall hotel for two nights for our friends wedding and it was fantastic!!
Even with the current 15/30 guest restriction, it was by far the most enjoyable, beautiful & relaxed wedding we have attended.
The hotel itself was well presented with immaculate gardens & function rooms.
All social areas inside were clean, tidy and displayed social distancing reminders. The track and trace barcode was also available to scan on check in which was reassuring.
Our bedroom & bathroom were well furnished, modern and spotless. They also had full facilities available; iron, hot drinks, TV, Aircon or heating and bathroom toiletries.
Breakfast, lunch and dinner were delicious and well presented. All staff were polite and happy, even behind their face masks!! (Another great point, all staff wore masks throughout the hotel, which we prefer especially when serving food).
All guests wore matching masks during the ceremony which was memorable and made the event different and special in a lovely way!!
The whole day from start to finish was organised and safe, with the staff of Washingborough Hall going above and beyond to ensure a happy experience for all the wedding guests.
They were also very accommodating when we required an extra item. A member of staff bought it up to our bedroom and maintained social distancing at all times- leaving the item at the door, knocked and stepped back to the end of corridor.
Washingborough Hall is renowned around Lincolnshire for its 5 star reputation. My husband and I had the pleasure of experiencing this during our friends wedding at the weekend.
We wish the lovely staff at Washingborough Hall hotel all the best and we look forward to staying again soon.
Thank you!

My husband & I arrived 4 hours(!) before check in, after leaving early to try and beat storm Eunice. After an extremely challenging drive from the North West, we thought we would try our luck and see if they were able to check us in early. We were greeted by the friendly Kirsty who went out of her way to make us feel welcomed and relaxed. she asked us to give her half hour to try and get a room ready for us and provided us with a warm drink in the beautiful bar area of the hotel whilst we waited. True to her word, a room was quickly located for us.
The hotel is beautiful, with lots of original features, unfortunately the first room we were given (room 22) was a little dated for our personal taste and we discreetly asked if another room was available, we were then introduced to Lee who made it his mission to find something a little more our style. We were shown room 9 in the Church House and we were instantly impressed, its quiet, clean, modern and we loved the doors that opened up to the patio area outside.
I can not express in this review how accommodating both Kirsty, Lee and the Washy Hall staff were to us, I've never experienced such attentive & considerate hotel staff like the team at Washy Hall, the owners have got this spot on!
We didn't try the restaurant, but our stay did included breakfast with a good selection available. we had the Washy Hash and Dash on both days as it was delicious.
Unfortunately due to the storm, we wasn't able to explore Lincoln as much as we wanted and on our second day we were unable to get a taxi into Lincoln centre, Kirsty explained that the bus route was fairly easy to use so we gave it a try and we were surprisingly impressed, the bus stop is only a few min walk from the hotel and I believe the bus arrives every 10 mins, it took us around 20 mins on the bus to get to the centre of town - well worth a visit. We also discovered a lovely local pub, only a few mins walk from the hotel called the Ferry Boat.
We are already planning our next visit to Lincoln as there was so much we didn't get to see and we will be booking Washingborough Hotel again. After that level of service, why would we want to stay anywhere else!
Thank you for turning a miserable wet and windy weekend away into something so special for us.

We recently stayed at Washingborough Hall for three nights and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Our room (number 19) was very comfortable and nicely decorated, and the hotel and grounds were beautiful. We had brought bikes and secure storage was no problem. The location was very peaceful, and great for getting on to cycle routes on the River Witham. Also really easy to drive into Lincoln, or it was a nice walk along the River Witham if you have time. We ate in the hotel restaurant for 2 nights, and the food was excellent and very good value. The breakfast was also delicious with plenty of options. One of the nicest things about this hotel is how friendly and helpful all the staff are, nothing was too much trouble. It must be very difficult to strike the right balance with COVID measures but we felt that it was about right - the rules were evidently being adhered to but in a relaxed and friendly way. Extra supplies that would normally be in the room were supplied by housekeeping as soon as requested. Overall we would definitely highly recommend a stay at Washingborough Hall.
