We stayed here for four nights. It's a great buy!! It's about a five-minute walk to the beach. Our cabin had two twin beds for all three of us. We made it work. The bands were very firm. There is no air conditioning but it got cool at night. We never lost power! It is the perfect place to unwind. We didn't have wifi and we needed to be unplugged. The resort was full while we were there so I suggest you book as soon as you can. The staff was so friendly and accommodating. I know when we return we will be staying here.

We stayed here more as a stepping stone on our way to Phuket, the resort is set away from the beach, about a 10 minute walk and in a forest making it quite a peaceful place to stay. The bungalows are basic and tired to say the least, there is no electricity at certain times, meaning no fan, wifi...etc The staff are friendly and helpful. I think its quite expensive compared to other local resorts, ok for a stop over but I don't think I would like to stay longer.

For a cheep price this Resort fit the bill. Although there was no air conditioning and the power was only on from 6:00 pm to 6:00am, the staff was friendly and the location was good. The bathroom was also a shower but there was not slant so the water tended to stay in a pool on the floor. Although the beaches aren't as nice as Railay, it is only a short walk away.

To be perfectly honest, this place is really pushing the limits of where easy going travelers would want to stay *for the price which it cost. I myself was visiting with my girlfriend. I have been all for dirtbag/climber accommodations (aka I'm not a diva). It shouldn't matter where you are staying in Krabi because it so beautiful and there is so much to do you should not be in your hotel room for more than your 8 hours of sleep. However there are some things to know about the Mountain View Resort. Overall the staff was super nice and the setting was beautiful. The unit we stayed in was a huge dump. The walls were literally rotting away, and the sheets were disgusting. We also gave them our laundry. Came back destroyed. DO NOT GIVE THEM YOUR LAUNDRY. FOR THE PRICE YOU PAY this place is a joke. The noise coming from Tonsai nearby is very loud at night. Expect quality of sleep to be low as once again your walls might be in shambles. There are other hotels/resorts you can stay that are way nicer for only a few dollars more. Sorry management for telling it how it is, I just want those are making the journey to such an incredible place to truly enjoy all aspects of it.

Well. First this resort is NOT in Krabi as advertised, it's in Tonsai - a lovely beach 10 min BOAT from Ao Nang (it is the only way to get there, there is no road, and it is like 1h drive from Kabi to Aonang then 10 min boat to Tonsai). Boat is a long tail boat, will cost 100 b each and will leave when full (10 people). It leaves from the beach : there is no pier, you have to walk in the sea until the water is around your hips, the. You get to the boat. Okay for backpackers, not okay if you have suitcase or heavy luggage or shoes on. Best way to do it is to leave your big luggage in a hotel in Ao Nang and get to Tonsai or Railay with a small little bag. Then... this "resort" isn't really a resort. It's more of a backpacker thing, like almost anything else in Tonsai (except the first one on the beach that looks fancy and expensive). You have to walk around 7-8 min from the beach to get there. It is a very quiet place, in the forest, you're surrounded by trees and some monkeys are hanging out so beware of whatever you leave outside ! The bungalows are very simple, but clean (for the one we had ; some other people didn't have our chance so visit your room before you check in!). No towel, soap, shampoo, toilet paper provided. No bed sheet either (we heard you could ask for this one though...) - that's a first. No electricity or wifi between 6AM and 6PM. Also meaning no fan if you plan to stay inside your room ! Licking toilets and no drain in the shower. Cold water but perfect with this tropical weather anyway ! Price in low season is attractive (200 b, it's written on the entrance you don't even have to negotiate) and it's way cheaper to walk in than to book online (price online was 560b). As its a bit away from the beach you are less annoyed by the very recurring noise of the long boats all day. Try to get there at high tide : you will have to walk one meter in the water when arrived in Tonsai (but you're already wet anyway since you get to the boat through the water in Ao Nang). At low tide you have to walk in the mud, not easy ! Tonsai is really worth the trip, still a little paradise for a few years before the real "resorts" make it an expensive place...

Amazing location. One of the simplest hotel I ever staid and one of the best in the same time. No electricity from 6am to 6pm (Who cares?) No air condition (who needs that?) Friendly staff. Free lockers for valuables (take your own padlock)

DO NOT STAY The accommodation at Mountain View Resort is exactly the same as every other place on Tonsai only 3 x as expensive. You do not get ANYTHING extra for that. In fact, I stayed at Pasook in November and at least they had more than one plug in your room so that you could charge your phone as well as having the room fan on. I suppose I did have mouse poo on my bed. Maybe you pay extra for that. The staff are so rude. I went to reception at 8am to ask for more tolilet roll and clean towels (we had been there for 4 nights already so not an unreasonable ask, especially as no one comes to clean your room) The receptionist refused to get it for me because he was having breakfast and said he would do it in the afternoon. After explaining that we were leaving for climbing in 30 mins and we needed it before he slammed his hand on the table and said I. AM. HAVING. BREAKFAST. In the end I got him to replace it. I would recommend Pasook over this place anyday. Please do not waste your money on this place.

DON'T STAY HERE! I don't have many good things to say about this "resort"...how can you call this place a resort??? Too expensive for what they offer!! The bungalows are in very bad conditions!! The Mosquito nets have holes everywhere and have been put on the window using tape! Electricity is available ONLY from 6 pm until 6 am and there is ONLY ONE SOCKET in the bungalow. So imagine you come back from your day tour and the room is super hot so you cannot even use the fan! And when it's already 6 PM you have to decide what device you'll put in the socket!! So you cannot charge your camera or mobile phone & use the fan. There is no hot water, which is not too bad because of the high temperatures, but for that price you should be able to decide if you want to take a hot or a cold shower!! The Staff was very unfriendly and every time I needed something they said to me: come back later and never helped me. We have seen the Dream Valley Resort, where our friends had their bungalow, and it was definitely better and cheaper!!! Never gonna book Mountain View Resort again, a terrible experience!

This place exagerates their facility. This is the lowest of the lowest. We had no water both days. Said they would fix it first day but still woke up next day with no water. Mold in bathroom, rot in walls. Power is only from 1830 to 0600, with only one plug in to charge your things. No light in bathroom, said they would fix it. Didn't happen. Gave us a light bulb and said fix it yourself. Also only accessible by boat. Didn't know that when we booked. Charged us 1100 baht per night. I don't mind paying their price if they provide the services. Didn't happen here.

Probably not a 3-star class Thai hotel either. (Unless the rating system is very very different from Western standards) Tonsai beach is well known for being a backpacker/climber area so keep that in mind before you book accommodations here. Most of the options are budget friendly but likely not so much hygiene friendly. We stayed one night July 2015 (low season) for 300 baht. Private bungalow with full ensuite bathroom. We ended up staying here because it was the first decent looking spot on the way up from the long tail drop point and our bags were getting heavy. The landscaping lured us in, and from the outside the bungalows looked okay. Moment of "oh, I could do this for one night" led to our taking the room despite finding the bathroom manned by a rather large cockroach. The inside is well lit, which means you get a good look at how dismal it is. Cleanish in a bungalow type way but also run down and grungy in a bungalow type way. Bullet points: Really really squeaky fan (no a/c) Squishy sunken bed Adheres to Tonsai tradition of electricity only from 6pm-6am. Cold water shower BYOtowels (or pay extra), no top sheet/blanket provided unless you ask. Not too many bugs etc. in our bunk, another person had ant problems though. Wifi only at reception area Location - Tonsai is so small everything is pretty close together. Attached mini mart. Rumored attached restaurant but never saw it. Lots of cute and friendly kitties. Overall: Dirt cheap deluxe for dirtbag travelers
