After running all over Mexico City, it was great to end our trip with three nights at Mision del Sol. The hotel is actually about 20 minutes by taxi ($Mex 80) outside of Cuernavaca in Jiutepec, an upscale gated enclave. The resort is very popular with Mexicans and we saw only a few from other countries. Most of the staff...

The problem with marketing your hotel as a "Space of Light" is that expectations are immediately set very high, and unfortunately for my wife and I on our most recent trip they were simply not met. We escaped for a couple of nights lured by the promise of light and tranquility. A huge selling point for us was the Temazcal....

The hotel is not really fancy, yet it has it's charm. It's quiet, no kids allowed, plenty of areas to walk around, but don't expect to walk kilometers. The spa is nice, but not big. The jacuzzi is in an open area, so november and december can be chilly. The temaxcal is great, and the experience with the spiritual man...

We read about Mision in a magazine that dates back almost 10 years. We have just spent a very refreshing 4 nights at Mision Del Sol. One could not have asked for a better place to unwind and reconnect with your soul! The place is amazing, great food, a very tranquil setting with beautiful gardens. The service is impeccable. The...

Misión del Sol This hotel used to be the best Spa hotel in Cuernavaca and very exclusive too. Now with our great president things have changed, tourism is not the same, therefore hotels aren’t really able to keep the same standards. This hotel is a full solid 4 star SPA hotel. I enjoyed my visit but first some tips about...

This hotel has fabulous write-ups in many places but I was disappointed. Yes, the grounds are lovely but that's where the 'excellent' stops. This is not a 'destination spa' but a hotel with spa facilities, and not a grand one at that. It is very expensive for what you get. While the daily rates are high, the rooms are spartan...

I've been here twice and it's a great place to spend a weekend, we were enchanted with the Spa and all the amenities there (body massages, facial treatment and the very special Temazcal). The hotel is very quiet and you can find also serious meditation instructors and other activities. The food is great (a bit expensive) but you find a...

My husband and I just got back a wonderful relaxing weekend at Mision de Sol. If you are looking for a place to unwind 100% and forget the outside world then this is it.
