The Hotel Gran Ciudad de Mexico was a stunning colonial building that was absolutely breathtaking. Hotel service was excellent and our room was spacious, clean and comfortable. We asked the staff at the front desk to arrange a taxi to take us to Teotihuacan and surrounds for the day. Our taxi driver, Héctor Villanueva was incredibly friendly, helpful and informative,...

We enjoy our 5 day stay there in February 2017. The only thing is that it can be somewhat noisy at night, since your in the middle of the city. Just be aware of that. If you like a quiet night, stay away from the rooms close to the plaza. That's the only reason I didn't give it 5 stars....

This is a great opportunity to stay in Art Nouveau splendor. Stunning lobby/atrium with stained glass ceiling, wrought iron railings and elevator cages -- a true architectural gem. Our room was spacious and well-appointed, with a marble bathtub and shower. The on-site restaurant and cafe served good food, and were reasonably priced. The Terrace restaurant on the 4th floor had...

I don't give many five star reviews, but if ever a hotel and its staff deserved high praise, this is it! But warning, if what you like is slick and modern, this hotel is not for you. The Gran Hotel, perfectly situated on the historic main square (zocalo), spent its first years as a department store, hence the high ceilings...

My wife and I stayed at the Gran Hotel Ciudad de Mexico in February 2017. The hotel is absolutely beautiful and well maintained. The staff was very courteous and spoke excellent English (which was very helpful in my case). The location is the best in Mexico City for touring the historical sites and shopping. My stay there could not have...

The Gran Hotel is within easy walking distance of, to name a few, the Catedral Metropolitana, Templo Mayor, Palacio de Bellas Artes, and the Parque Alameda Central. Excellent restaurants,...
