I stayed early september at the hotel when things slowly started to re-open in Mexico City. The first impression was the great healthy checkpoints and safety meassures that they have planned since your arrival.
The check-in process was really fast and great and I stayed in a view room to the angel de la independencia, my experience with that view: The best night skyline you can have in Mexico City". I really wanted to know the hotel as I have stayed in other hotels from the same group and this one really made me experience the same high quality standars that you can have around the world.

The staff was always caring about my stay and about anything I could need in any sense. I had time at the pool that it is outstanding with salt water and with the great view, the same health checkpoints and guards were present at all time during my stay. In the pool I was alone as restrictions apply at the moment but everything is really clean and sanitized.

The room is amazing, you can connect your spotify and your telephone to have a full room sound experience and it makes really the time to see the skyline at night amazing, the room had a welcome kit with a facemask and some towels with alcohol to be always cleaning either surfaces or my hands, the room is big enough to work from there without feeling trapped and the amazing view from the floor and the room I had made my work from home really amazing.

I had the opportunity to have dinner at the rooftop bar and the food was amazing, I had tacos, humus and a salad and I loved how tasty and the size of the portion of the food, the main attractive of the rooftop is obviously the 360 view of the entire city but with the restrictions you can not move a lot in the space.

I really enjoyed my stay there even the lenght was really really short the staff is really worried about you and about your needs so they solve everything really fast and are looking always to make your stay the best and without any difference to other Sofitel property. I definetly will come again and will make Sofitel my preffered stay in the City, Fernanda, Jose Manuel and Alejandro (and also all the staff) really made me feel like staying like my home, made me enjoy the experience and gave me the best time in this pandemic new normal approach as you can expect having all this restrictions.

Definetly a must visit place if you plan to come to Mexico City, the property is amazing, location wise is one of the best and easiest ways to move around the city and you will enjoy the rooms.

Luckily, I’ve had the opportunity to stay in two occasions in the past 15 days at the premises of Sofitel Mexico, we stay once, then we came back because we simply loved Sofitel Mexico. Sofitel Mexico is a place completely determined to make you experience unforgettable moments. When staying at Sofitel Mexico, not only will you be impressed by the majestic view of Mexico City, the location and views of the city are unmatched, but this is not what I want to highlight from my stay. You can expect surreal installations regardless you are booking a superior room or a prestige suite, during our two stays we could feel the vibrant sophistication and experience Sofitel has to offer in all the different type of rooms and suites my peers booked. The building and the installations are neat, impeccable, they take care about of every design detail, from the valet parking until the last floor. But what makes this experience so cozy and enjoyable is the people working at Sofitel Mexico, because it is not about how they treat you but more about how they make you feel, all my travel partners felt special while staying at Sofitel Mexico. They will do whatever to satisfy your needs, they even got us a safety pin/clip, for one of our companions, so servicewise you will be in heaven. On the other hand, it is important to point out that they do care about all hosts, so they guarantee privacy and time effectiveness when you reserve some of their main entertainment areas, for example the pool and spa, which was sanitized every time a group get in and out, so they are taking very strict measures to maintain a healthy environment within the facilities. Lastly, even they are offering you a French experience, you will felt the coziness and service of Mexico, so this aspect can be cherished including more distinguished Mexican products at the bar or for example including an exclusive collection of Mexican Coffee to welcome hosts at reception and/or to create more intimate moments in the rooms and suits.

Thanks Sofitel Mexico, for this wonderful experience, see you all soon.

I highly recommend staying at this hotel. Not only is it perfectly situated in the neighborhoods you will want to visit, but the rooms were also very well done, bigger than expected and the views were second to none. Upon check-in, we were escorted to our room and given a tour. The rooms featured surround sound, automatic drapes, a large bathtub with a private toilet, and a huge shower. We were on the 24th floor and we could see for miles. Throughout our stay, the concierge offered a service where we could text and ask for recommendations. They set-up a guided tour for us to Xochimilco with very little notice and made incredible recommendations for dinners each night. We waited in the porte cochere each evening as the bellmen hailed our cars so that we could relax before we went out. Juan, Blanche, Arturo, Liliana, Ivan, and Alejandro answered our texts almost immediately with quick, helpful responses and insightful information. We will with 100% certainty be returning to this property and we can't wait!

Wanted to check this new Accor property in Mexico City andas their new loyalty program name suggests, it turned out to Limitless disappointments.

It is annoying that you must change the elevators at the 14th floor lobby to get to your room/suite and wasting time in the process process.

As a lifetime Platinum member with Accor, I was assigned about the lowest possible floor "luxury room" that they call a junior suite in higher floor.

It would have been great to get club benefits letter explaining the hours. Also, some of the club employees are rather clueless. I got Jasmine tea, milk and sugar when my request was for Jasmin tea with lime slices and sweetener.

The club lounge was nicely designed, although the communal table with too low chairs a design disaster.

The room had similar issues. You had to walk out from shower to adjust the temperature or amenities. The shower head was mostly blocked but I was able to stretch and clean it. The shower water pressure was terrible. Also, there are no waste baskets in the bathroom.

My key card stopped working at noon even when I am eligible for late check out that surely was available as the hotel was 15% to 20% occupancy per employee.

I was having a nap in the room and the privacy light on. Hotel employee knocked and walked in regardless.

Orbitz was selling this hotel for $230 while price on Accor's website was $400. Likely better not book direct unless you are interested in Limitless frustrations loyalty program.

Don't see a reason to return.

Dear John O, First of all let me apologized if we did not reach the standards you were expecting for our new opened hotel. I am sorry that you did not like the design of the hotel, design can be sometime subjective. What mostly affected me of course are your remarks about services. This is definitely under my responsibility and I am definitely not satisfied leaving a guest unhappy even more if he is lifetime Platinum ALL. On your last remark: “Don't see a reason to return”, let me try to give you 2: - When you were staying in Sofitel Mexico we were less than 2 months after our opening, everything should be perfect but an opening is never perfect even if we did our best. - Because we always deserve a second chance, I have checked your reviews on Tripadvisor, you hardly give a 5* rates. That makes me even more hoping you to give us a second chance, I want you to give us 5* rate on your second trip. Please if you are ready to come back, send me an email confirming me your booking, and I will make sure we meet your expectation and above. My two friends and I voted in the United States and quickly fled to Mexico City to watch the aftermath from afar. I stayed at Sofitel Mexico City Reforma for seven nights and I couldn't have asked for a better place to stay while exploring Mexico City. They make every effort to keep their guests and staff heathy and safe, including wearing masks at all times, taking your temperature every time that you enter the hotel, encouraging you to use hand sanitizer, and cleansing the soles of your shoes in a disinfectant. Mexico City is doing a significantly better job of keeping its citizens and visitors safe than many cities and towns in the United States. In addition, instead of closing their Fitness Center, they offer one-hour reservations to those who would like to work out during their visit. Oh, and the hotel is located directly next to the American Embassy. The views from my room and the Fitness Center were spectacular, especially at sunset. Speaking of the Fitness Center, it is small, but the cardiac equipment (three treadmills, one elliptical, one rowing machine, and one bike) and weights (two sets of barbells, one set of kettlebells, and a high-tech nautilus) are new(er). While we didn't truly dine in either of the hotel's two restaurants, Bajel or Balta, I did have a drink at both Balta and Cityzen, their rooftop bar. In addition, we ordered a light breakfast twice from room service. The spectacular views from Cityzen on the 38th floor easily justify the inflated drink prices. The best part of staying at Sofitel Mexico City Reforma is the customer service. The staff makes every effort to accommodate your requests. While they typically offer Fitness Center reservations from the late morning to the early evening, they accommodated our request to work out in the early morning. In addition, they made change for me daily and brought glasses and ice to my room daily for "happy hour" with my friends. I would definitely consider staying at Sofitel Mexico City Reforma in the future. You cannot beat the views and the customer service.

My partner and I stayed at the Sofitel in February of 2020. We would highly recommend this hotel and look forward to returning in the future.

This trip (pre-CoVID) was to celebrate my partner's birthday and we arrived separately at the hotel. Check-in was smooth, seamless and very efficient. The reception staff and butlers were quick to ensure we did not waste much time checking in.

Our room was very modern, clean and well equipped. We had a separate living area so had plentiful space to move around, work, relax and unwind. Any traveller would appreciate the conveniences of the work area in the living room with ample outlets, storage and connectivity ports.

The hotel amenities were wonderful. The gym was small but well equipped for a full workout with inspiring views on a very high floor. The pool was even more impressive and we would encourage a sunset dip to take advantage of these views.

We unexpectedly decided to get massages at the spa and they were very relaxing with modern/comfortable tables and very attentive service from the spa attendants (willing to listen to your requests on lighter/deeper pressure if requested).

We were able to use the Club Millésime lounge and very much enjoyed the selection of cheeses, fruits, pastries, wine and beverages. I would highly recommend upgrading to a suite that allows access to this lounge, if your budget permits. Enjoying the views while sampling their wine collection is worth it.

If there was one thing I could highlight about this stay, aside from the wonderfully modern aesthetic and extensive hotel amenities, it would be the staff. The front desk, butlers, cleaners, management and concierge staff were incredibly helpful. The concierge (somehow, magically??) got us a reservation at Pujol within 24 hours of request, which I wouldn't 'expect' but I was pleasantly surprised at their willingness to go above and beyond, whenever possible. Their knowledge of the city, sites, access to guides and where to 'go' for great art, history, museums, cafes and restaurants was very helpful.

Having previously travelled to Mexico City and stayed at the Four Seasons (which was also quite nice), I would return and stay at the Sofitel when we return again in the future. Each hotel offers something very different but our experience at the Sofitel was truly outstanding.

All the things we had heard before about this hotel, and even the pictures we had seen cannot compare to living the experience of staying there in your own flesh.
The decoration is amazing, full of details and modern luxury. The rooms are very comfortable, with soft beds and super cool furniture. However, the real dream come true is the bathroom, with a bathtub and a shower to die for and a beautiful skyline.
Visiting the pool at sunset is an unforgettable experience in the 38th floor with an incredible view, relaxing comfy sunbeds and delicious cocktails.
Staff is super friendly.
The hotel is full of safety measures, like sanitized room seals in the doors and other details, such as a welcome kit with a mask and antibacterial gel, that makes you feel more than safe and even like there's no pandemic outside.
I would definitely recommend anyone to stay here.

Hands down, the best hotel experience I've had to date.

This hotel is nestled in the heart of the city with quick access to restaurants, coffee shops, museums, Zona Rosa, and other nearby attractions.

What pulled me to this hotel, was the stunning indoor pool on the 38th floor. And it did not disappoint! It is beautifully designed with tones of patina, amazing views of the city, and has a serene ambience.

Initially, my friend and I were planning to spend two nights, but we had such a great experience we decided to extend our stay.

What made this very memorable was the attention to detail and commitment to excellence in hospitality. At Sofitel, we felt at home with Fernanda Prats, José Delgado, and their entire staff. From beginning to end, they went out of their way to ensure we lived "the French way" in Mexico and had the best experience. Thank you for making it special for us!

Highly recommend this hotel if you ever find yourself in CDMX. The hotel takes all measures to keep us safe with hand sanitizing stations, deep cleaning, and temperature checks.

Looking forward to my next stay!

I stayed four nights in a room with two beds, facing the Angel of Independence at the end of November, 2022. I liked that the building is very safe, and the construction is only three years old. At check-in, we found the room to have a lingering odor of wet dog, and an alternate room offered to us also smelled mildewy, but María José Arellano stepped-up and “Made it Right” within 20 minutes by personally seeing to it that the first room offered to us was deep cleaned and up to snuff. In the end, it all worked out. The hotel’s location is very central and many organized tours leave from this zone which makes it easy for you decide what to do once you’re there. There is a lot of security in the hotel and the neighborhood is also very safe.

On the 12th floor, there is a restaurant named “Balta”where they serve breakfast either in a buffet style or à la carte. Jorge and Karla gave me personal and caring attention; the food was very good. I recommend the French Press coffee and Eggs Benedict on an English muffin with smoked salmon. The View from the restaurant, modern, decor, and service make it worth paying the premium.

Critics of this hotel may say that, “this isn’t truly Mexico,” however, everyone should know that Mexico has a very beautiful, modern and safe places like this, and have the opportunity to be treated with the efficiency and personal care they offer here.

Wow, we have stayed at many a hotels but I'll be honest, Sofitel staff treated us extremely well. It started with Daniel, super kind and just extremely willing to help. The hotel is beautiful and has gorgeous views. It has a facade of an old colonial mansion but when you are finally greeted in the driveway you realize the grandeur of the building. We had breakfast at their Balta restaurant in which has beautiful views of the Angel de Independencia. As we were going to be escorted to our room Fernanda with Sofitel, greeted my husband and I and let us know how excited they were to have us on their property. Definitely made us feel extremely special. The entire staff had positive calming vibes, it was all extremely genuine. This is all before we even entered our room! We arrived to our room with Daniel's help of course, he was so generous in helping. The room had floor to ceiling window's with amazing views from our 32nd floor. The views gave me a true grasp on how beautiful and green this city really is. The room was huge and super clean and makes you want to remodel your own house immediately. Again, the vibes were super positive in the room. Not cluttered, just clean and chic. The rooftop bar has a wrap around terrance, also beautiful. Make sure and get a reservation as space fills quickly. The rooftop bar is also super sleek and sexy. From the naked eye the building looked like the tallest in the area. I dare say the tallest in Mexico City. Sofitel is located right next to the American Embassy. The area which we didn't explore much had super cute restaurants and bars near by. The area is extremely walkable. There is a small convenient store super close to the hotel where my husband and I would stop and get some goodies for our room, waters and cervezas. The room service food was great! We ordered room service breakfast often during our stay and I could NOT get enough of their pan dulce/ sweet bread (their conchas are amazing). They had turn down service which always makes me feel like I'm being treated like royalty. The Sofitel is doing it right! It's all about service at the Mexico City Sofitel. They set extremely high standards. The bar has been set. "We're never staying at another hotel again, We're only staying at Sofitel's" - said my husband =) Thank you so much Mexico City Sofitel for giving us the best treatment and environment. We truly appreciate it!

Yes! I took an authentic cooking class in September. "Aura Cocina Mexicana" it's located at Colonia Roma Norte. You'll need to take a short car ride. We had a great group of participants, and the staff was awesome. Delicious food and so much fun.
