Good points - central location in the historic district. About 20 minutes from the airport (but that goes for all hotels in the area really). That's about it. Here's the rest... No air con in rooms, simply unbearable stuffiness and heat (getting a fan was like getting blood from a stone). Uncomfortable beds. Shower emitting a mist rather than any...

This is a popular hotel with locals. The old hotel is in the prime historical center area and near a metro interchange, and priced well to fill. That said, a few things you should take note before you choose to stay here (esp. pt 1): 1. First and foremost, it's noisy. And it's usually fairly noisy late into the night....

Close to the zocalo (downtown area) and easy to get around via Uber. Saw Basilica of Our Lady of Guadalupe and Pyramids in Teotihuacan. Very cool We did stay out a little late and it seemed like we were in an unsafe area due to the amount of police everywhere, more police than people. No issues though. Plenty of shops...

Thank you very much for staying with us! We are very glad you enjoy our hotel. About the security in the streets, it is due we are at downtown and our privileged location is near important places like Palacio Nacional or the supreme court, so an extra couple of police doesn´t hurt, plus makes it super safe to walk around....

--Wow. My first time staying at Hotel Castropol and what a great choice in this price category. I arrived after midnight, but there was still a bellhop to carry up bags to the elevator and then to the room. The room was very clean and spacious--just like the photos--and both beds were very comfortable, bathroom was nice. Wi fi worked...

Hotel in a good location just few minutes walk from Zocalo. They have a free valet parking, rooms are relatively big but in shower you need to "play a game" with water to have warm/hot one :) ... I just really did not like that the room cleaning staff every day moved our luggages to different place (in room of...

Pros: The marbled upgrades can be seen all over the guest rooms and the bathroom. Clean, well kept. Close to Zocalo, an easy 15-20 min walk. Just a couple of minutes walk from the Jose Maria Pino Saurez metro. Eateries, shoe shops, fashion outlets, 7-elevens, Oxxos within walking distance. Right behind the Pino Saurez metro is a kind of $...

Dear guest, thank you for choosing us for your Mexico City stay, we are glad you enjoyed the location, and it is because we are super close to Zocalo, Supreme court and Palacio Nacional, that the streets are very well guarded. Hope to see you return, María.

Great budget hotel but with recently remodeled rooms very close to metro (2.5 blocks) Zocalo (4 blocks). Streets at night a bit edgy for some but had a cop on every corner so never any problems. I felt totally safe (always with precautions of course in any area) Stayed single in room with King bed, great bathroom, boiling hot water...

This place is nice and clean. We stayed four nights for our first trip to Mexico. It's close to the metro and right in the heart of Mexico City. We managed to get around all of Mexico City from this convenient spot.

The hotel is perfectly located just 10-15 mins walk from Zocalo and main historical sites. Metro station is just around the corner, which is worth using instead of busses or taxis that get stuck in heavy traffic. The hotel was recently renovated, rooms are very clean, spacious, new bathrooms, no airconditon tho, but I didn't need it in January at...
