The place is overall nice. Quite well located, not so far from Oaxaca city itself, a bit up in the hill in the suburbs. It's big, you have plenty of space, in the house and in the garden. But... It's quite an old house, with some signs of its age, and the sensation that little money has been dedicated through...

Casa Raab is one of the most beautiful homes I have ever been in.The house (and indeed, the whole operation down there) is so much more than a vacation rental. despite the many photos and the very thorough and accurate description on their listing. The house was built by Anthony’s family 50 years ago and represents a deep and ongoing...

First, the location is San Pablo Etla, not Oaxaca city. It's in the countryside, so do take advantage of the surrounding beauty! Even if you're not an early riser, you can walk at your own pace on the property, through agave fields with stunning views! I feel I have to say this because so many Americans are unreasonably terrified of...

Been limiting my advice on TripAdvisor..not because I haven't been staying in great places around the planet. I dislike opening these very special, tres cool places to anyone who can read.    As a side note, and a very important side note"I have a fear of dogs.' Unnatural as it seems , I have it. So when out touring hacienda stays...

Ditto on all the positive remarks left by previous travelers. Having worked on many an inter-mountain guest ranch they've got attending to you while leaving you alone down pat. I slept like a log. Any noise that was even possibly disruptive came from humans and not dogs. Dogs were a provision of security, well behaved and completely responsive to Rebecca...

We just returned from our first trip to Oaxaca. Our base of the stay was Casa Raab. Each morning after a brisk walk in the hills (accompanied by the dogs) and a great breakfast, we took in the various sites of the area. What a treat it was afterwards to return to the people who were also staying there and...

An ideal place to stay in an idyllic setting. If you love animals, you will love Raab. Moreover, the prices, for the level of amenities, are very reasonable. Finding it may be tough, but it's worth it. One of my favorites.

We visited Casa Raab as part of a group for Thanksgiving dinner. Casa Raab is about 25-30 minutes outside the city of Oaxaca. The owners were friendly, thoughtful and informative. I explored the master bedroom, a beautiful, large room with a king bed and a large dressing area and a large bathroom. Rates seem reasonable for the accommodations. The area...

Casa Raab is a compound with several houses, a pool, wooded walking paths, and assorted wildlife. The larger guest house, which housed our recent party of six, has four guest rooms, each with private bath, a kitchen, and communal dining and sitting rooms. The rooms are spacious, although they could have been a bit cleaner, and the ambiance is quiet...

I hesitated before writing this review but decided to do it in hopes of better informing prospective family guests about what to expect. There are many very positive things about Casa Raab. Rebecca runs a dog rescue and has rescued and placed many deserving dogs. The morning dog walk is a lot of fun and has nice views. The breakfasts...

“Images on website are pretty accurate. Most private is the Loom Room, but all are more than adequately private. All have private bathrooms and fireplaces. King suite is largest and sunniest, also has a tub.”

“Rooms in Casa Grande vary in size. Depends on your needs. All are charming and MOST pleasant. The Casita has two bedrooms that share a bath. It is a little more basic than rooms in the Casa Grande, but you have your own kitchen and more independence from the main house. Depends on your likes and needs.”
