Our large room was located on the street level and french window opened on to the street. There were two double beds. There was a portrait of Our Lady of Solitude, the patroness of Oaxaca in the room. The central location was great -- nearby restaurants, shops, churches and museums.

We just spent 10 days at this delightful hotel while taking a cooking course and enjoying the pageantry of the Dia de Muertos celebrations. We could not have been more pleased. The building is charming with rooms opening onto terraces and with a beautiful decor in accordance with the name (House of the Monks). The rooms are spacious and comfortable...

My 6 day stay at Casa de los Frailes ranks as one of my best experiences at a hotel in the United States or abroad. Margarita the manager, and the entire staff, made my daughter and I feel at home and they were always so willing and ready to help us by answering any questions that came up for us...

I stayed for 2 nights in this hotel in March. I decided to book a king room with a private little patio. Room was nice and very clean, decorated with Mexican hand crafts and nice details. You can find a mini bar (empty and unplugged)an a microwave that we didn't use. The bed is a king size, not the most...

The rooms are cheery and the air conditioning works well. My friend and I had a room in the second floor with plenty of closet...

Charming, small, friendly, super clean hotel in a great location--just far enough from the noise of the Zocalo but close to attractions, great restaurants, shops. Amazingly helpful owner and staff. Kudos to Alejandro, the front desk manager and only English speaking staff. Alejandro went above and beyond to help us, including finding a private guide. In response to other reviews:...

I received great service at Casa de Los Frailes. The staff was friendly and helpful. My room was very clean with a good shower comfortable bed and air conditioning. I loved the location! It was an easy walk to everything I was interested in seeing. The continental breakfast was minimal but adequate. Laundry service was excellent, fast and inexpensive.

Spent four days at the hotel in Oaxaca and was really happy with our choice.. The location was perfect; just two blocks from the main square yet far enough to enjoy the quiet.. The staff could not be more friendly or accommodating. Highly recommend
