It is definitely, to my point of view, a "bio" Organic green... trap! The room and especially the family room is very small for 2200 pesos/night. The mattresses were horrible really (big curve in the middle, bad smell). All right, you get the massage free but they make it clear that you have to leave a tip, same for the... More

We made the mistake of trying to find this place after dark and after driving 7 hours. We gave up and had to backtrack to a more visible resort for the night. The next morning we found it and what a thrill it was. This eco-jungle was set on a breathtaking tropical landscape and lake with huts built on stilts.... More

The "shamans" resort is rather a tourist attraction, but if you do not expect the real thing you can actually enjoy it. It has restaurant (good prices, good food), temazcal, mud spa, massage cabin and some amazing paths through the jungle. You can swim in the shallow nature pond, the lake is packed with crocodiles! The cabins are extremely small... More

Lake Catemaco is beautiful and this "eco-resort" is wonderfully located away from the main town on the edge of the lake. As an "eco-resort" it is solar powered and the cabins are very simple, with no fans and the lighting only for as long as it lasts. We stayed in a family room with a double and two twin beds.... We spend a night at Nanciyaga mid-July 2007. It is a beautiful piece of rain forest with nice trails and lots of green. We took kayaks on the lake and had fantastic encounters with water birds. At night there were fireflies and frogs. The Temezcal was a wild experience though a little tough...about an hour in a totally crowded, totally... More
