My wife and I have stayed in the hotel four times, and we are planning to come back and invite the rest of our family. The best of the hotel is its staff; Alejandro, Luis, Ismael and Juan Carlos (I forget the names of other staff, sorry) are very polite and are always ready to help. Juan Carlos provided us...

Mia Cancun (previously called Bacaratte) - villa style boutique. A refreshing change from the enormous hotel blocks more typically found in Cancun. Comfortable room and nice setting, maybe get breakfast somewhere else, service slow (and we were the only ones there) and food not worth the wait. Reception staff helpful.

Clearly this is a hotel that the owners totally gave up on paying routine upkeep (the name changed to MIA and they cannot even pay for putting up any sign with the new name? 2 names ago Avalon is all over place too), and made a decision to go for the absolute 100% bare to da bone minimum. However, that...

During our honeymoon we traveled to Mexico City, Acapulco, and Cancun. And this hotel is the dark spot of our traveling. Now, as I understood, they changed their name to Mia Resort hotel, but it doesn't make them better. The room was poor and dirty, I could't take shower without flip-flops! The bed was broken, the air condition was very...

First we walked though hotel straight to the back, beautiful views of ocean beach in both directions! These views are also from all rooms on the backside, & side rooms, the restaurant, swimming pool & it's pool bar area and from the upper terrace patio/bar/dinner area. (Had dinner here. It was perfect!) We walked everywhere we went! Buses are available...

I would not let my dog live in this hotel! It hasn't had any service the last 25 years, nothing is working. Food is actually dangerous to eat. We had to change bed every day because it rained in trough the sealing. Brekfast was included but it was a disaster…. The only thing thats good here is the location!

We loved this place! It does need some maintenance (one ceiling fan didn't work, leaky faucet, leakage around windows on ocean side, etc) but it was totally charming! Our room--#205 was a huge two bedroom, two bath with kitchen, dining, and living room. We had a nice balcony with a hot tub overlooking the Caribbean, the swim up bar and...

My husband and I have been traveling to Mexico for 38 years. This was a third trip to the Yucatan. We do not normally stay in large resorts areas but due to the late arrival of our flight from san Francisco we decided to spend our first two nights in Cancun. We selected the Hotel and resort Bacaratte because of...
