Memorable architecture houses great vibes in bright open airy space with ample common areas. Kind and helpful staff, family style breakfast, common bathrooms, affordable and great location. Would recommend

Pros: Excellent location, excellent breakfast, excellent staff, beautiful building. Cons: very run down (one light bulb in the corner of the room, broken "lock" on balcony doors, worn out furniture) bathrooms are far from some rooms, toilets don't flush well. I still recommend this place because the pros far outweigh the cons, but this place could be so unbelievably beautiful...

Hostel is in a prime location with really good staff, breakfast and rooms. But the male bathroom really needs some attention, as there is only half a shower curtain covering the toilets.... at one point not even that, it's not a pretty sight walking into the bathrooms with another guest using the facilities. The young man on the front desk...

It's hard to believe that at this price, you can stay right along the Plaza Grande. With a killer heladoria (ice cream store) next door, you can walk down the spiral staircase, grab a tamarind paleta (popsicle) and stroll through the beautiful plaza. The hosts were friendly and the huge breakfast of fruit, yogurt, local honey, coffee, eggs, and warm...

Very nice hostel. No bunkbeds in the dorms, but individual beds! (also private rooms available) :) Very clean facilities, helpful and friendly staff, spacious common area, delicious and huge breakfast, central location right at the main square. Only the bathroom/shower facilities could be refurbished a bit. No warm water when I was there. The 'abuelo' of the host family even...

The hostal is directly across from the Zocalo, city center. Xavier is an excellent proprietor, concerned with all guests. The breakfasts are exceptional. The hostal is clean enough but the atmosphere, staff and guests make this place the best place to stay while in Merida.

First of all, you can't wish for a BEST LOCATION, the hostel is right on the main square! We had booked a private room with a bathroom, but we asked to be moved to another one right away as this one was very small, in the basement (actually all rooms with bathroom are in the basement), with no window, it...

One of my favourite hostels of this trip. Great atmosphere, friendly staff and guests and fantastic breakfast. Arrived during the morning when breakfast was being served and the sight of a table full of fruit, fresh bread and omelettes being made to order which set a fantastic impression. The location is excellent being that it's on the main square. The...
