I don't understand how this hotel can have more rating and good reviews. We were a large group and in my room and in other rooms the restroom smelled terrible always like sewer. In my friends room the tv didn't worked and the air conditioner was spilling water inside the room. In another friends room the toilet didn't work. The...

Stayed one night as limited time. Great location and cost for family of 5 (3 double beds). Great pool. Only complaint is the noisy airconditioning. Bathroom clean and shower a step down so no wet bathroom floor.

A very nice hotel in the center of Merida. The rooms were clean, the staff was friendly and our overall experience was very positive. However, the hotel doesn't not have its own parking lot so they will cover for you from 8pm to 8am in a parking lot close to their premises (be careful it's not the one right next...

As a budget traveler I was happy to find this centrally located colonial gem. My room was quite large and comfortable. The king size bed and various other furnishings were in good repair. The 15 foot ceilings though made the ac unit sound like a wind tunnel. With no fan and windows that did not open, I elected to sleep...

We spent the first week of our 2-week honeymoon at Hotel Colon. The lobby and pool are lovely and the room was very large with comfortable beds. We had a few issues such as poor water pressure for the shower and a very sad toilet. The staff are very nice and helpful, though I would recommend a translator app ......

Just off the main plaza, a minutes walk, where there is some kind of entertainment every day, make sure you are here on a Sunday, fabulous atmosphere. The rooms are a bit tired but have two double beds in, and are clean. Staff very friendly and helpful. Although not much English spoken. Made use of the lovely pool, although under...

Upon entrance to the hotel, the lobby area was beautiful and staff were reasonably friendly. However the room was situated on a noisy side of a street - one can look over and see the a hang out place for "undesirables". The room was clean and bedding was moderately reasonable. I thought the shower stream was quite poor - didn't...

We stayed for one night. Someone referred us and we accepted without looking around too much. The room was really large for a couple. It looks clean and lovely. My husband and I both itched away for a couple of hours before finally falling asleep. Still not sure what was going on there. Found couple of cockroaches in the bathroom...

Though the lobby is quite nice and the staff helpful, the rooms are sub-par and show their age. I stayed two days here just after Christmas, my first couple of choices were booked so I picked Hotel Colon for its price and location. I stayed on the higher floors, where the rooms are not nearly as old as the original...

I picked the Holel Colon for the locatin and because it had been recommended. I could have done better for the same price thugh. The rooms were OK and the hotel has character, but many of it's facilities dont work and there don't seem to be any plans to fix it. I had heard there was a sauna, which because...
