We arrived at the hotel early after a very early flight. It was disappointing, but not surprising, that we were not able to be given an early check-in, especially as the hotel never seemed close to occupancy. It was surprising, however, when our room wasn't even ready at the standard check-in time. They were almost a half-hour late getting our...

This hotel is 115 years old and steeped in tradition. One block from the main zocola and the 400 plus year old cathedral. It is situated in a small square with many restaurants nearby. One block away is Ponchos restaurant which is by far the best in Merida. Very reasonably priced, quiet and good staff.

This is one of the oldest working hotels at Merida. It has been kept as used to be many years ago and you can admire furniture, portraits and architecture of the 29th century begining. Rooms are adequate but need some refurbishing of course keeping the old flavor. Service is fair; no elevator to the upper levels. A/C is the old...

My family and I booked three rooms at Gran Hotel based upon overwhelming positive reviews here on TA. We were very pleased with this decision. This hotel will appeal to many, but not to everyone. Here are some things to consider. The hotel architecture is beautiful, but it is old. That means there are plenty of imperfections. For us, that...

Wow, wow, wow.... What a place. It was like staying at a museum instead of a hotel. The name fits the place outstandingly. Ample rooms, with some of the best beds ever, not the ones that kick you out of it in the middle of the night, nope, this ones you are going to have a hard time to get...

This hotel was perfect for us. It may not be for everyone though. The price was amazing! The location was amazing! For a little more on that though...it is right in the heart of it all. You could hear the people outside having a good time late into the night but it wasn't too intrusive and didn't bother us at...

This place is an affordable find just half a block from the zocalo. Very friendly and helpful staff. Small but beautiful high ceilinged rooms with original dark wood trim. The three storied open lobby is a beautiful skylit space with a grand staircase up to the rooms. The shower is really good, hot water and good pressure. Nice thick towels....

This historic hotel was simply beautiful. The rooms open off an interior courtyard and each door is still the original beauty from 1901. The marble stairway - the pasta tile floors - it was a bit like walking back in time. (I am thankful that the rooms are retrofitted with air conditioning! Merida is HOT). Staff was friendly. I am...

The Gran Hotel de Merida is grand! If you want to see what makes Merida a historic gem, stay here. Built in 1901 and always a hotel, the open courtyard gives you the feel of life in the 1900s, especially when it rains. The rooms are small, but our 3rd floor room had two balconies overlooking the Parque Manuel Cepeda....
