We stayed there for a week and we actually loved it! It has exceeded our expectations. Very good service (all the waitresses/waiters are super nice and friendly), tasty food with so many options (we enjoyed it a lot and we didn't have any issues), swimming...More
We have just got home from Riu Lupita and we wish we were still at this fabulous little hotel. We stayed in room 1515 which was very close to reception and the dining areas, just as we had requested before we arrived..The hotel is located...More
While not on the ocean, it is not far from it, and totally worth it to have the quiet it provides. The food is excellent as is the service. I really enjoyed this resort. There is a portion of the resort on the ocean, but...More

Hello, I am coming in July as well. First the weather that time of year is HOT but we are usually in the pool or beach. I have been to other Riu resorts alone with a 10 year old and yes there is security at the resort and the beach area we will be on. The staff are wonderful at these places. I have read about the advisories but there is crime in all of Mexico and the Caribbean. It will not stop me and like I said I travel alone with a child. Use your head the same way you would back home. Don't carry or flash money around, ECT. I will go to 5th ave but only during the day and will take a few excursions from the resort. I personally don't leave the resort after dark for peace of mind.

When we were there last may, apart from having as many cans as you want for your fridge, they also had a large container near the bar with ice cold cans of Dos Equis daily. Just help yourself to them as & when. Behind the bar is draught beer which was ok but after a few of them in the heat, they get warm & go flat quickly & are gassy too. An added bonus is to take your own thermos travel mug(Asda/E Bay/Wilko for a few quid) rather than rely on plastic cups.Makes going to the bar easier & far more worthwhile!
