Perfect location! Cute little bungalow in such a great spot.. right across the street from ARCA & Hartwood (did not eat at Hartwood, but ARCA was amazing and would absolutely recommend). Bikes are free to use and were a huge plus- we biked to yoga...More
Playa Selva was a great choice for our family. Cabana Maya and the communal kitchen were spotlessly clean. The staff is so friendly and accomodating.
You are very close to the water and we especially loved people watching on the beach.

First of all, Pepe, the manager, was both helpful and welcoming. He is a true professional. Pepe took my husband and me on a one of kind excursion that only he could provide. He was super knowledgeable about the flora and fauna of the nearby...More
First of all, let me say that Manuela, Pepe, Rafa and the other staff were all very helpful and friendly and available. Our rooms were very clean and we loved the simple minimalist Mexican-beach chic decor -- it does not feel like boring hotel room...More
My first 2 days in Tulum were spent at Playa Selva, and it was just perfect. Quiet, private, intimate, and right on the beach. The sounds of the waves, the breeze through the windows in our upstairs bedroom, the light of the sunrise through the...More

I have stayed at Playa Selva twice in the past year. I'm from Upper Michigan and have traveled to Mexico yearly in the past 25 years. I too was concerned with the payment options for Playa Selva. One of the addresses they use for Paypal is in Switzerland! It looks funky - but it is worked fine for me. It was totally safe when I used it. The owner (Manuela) lives in Switzerland and employs a very good man (Pepe) to run the property in Mexico. That's why it looks strange. I was completely satisfied with Playa Selva. I had absolutely no trouble with their payment options. I found them trustworthy. For what it's worth, I would go there again in a heartbeat! I hope my comments are helpful. Go and enjoy Playa Selva.
We have had really good luck with the Happy Shuttle - It is inexpensive and reliable. We only get a one way fare from Cancun to Tulum - We usually set up our ride back to the airport with one of the local cab drivers.
