Located on the edge of town, about a 10 minute walk from the bus station, Jardin de Frida is a really lovely little spot, perfect for people who want to have a quieter stay in Tulum. The staff are very friendly and helpful, and the property itself is lovely. We stayed in bot the dorm room and a private room....

The best parts of this place were the staff who were all so helpful and the restaurant which serves big plates of Mayan food at awesome prices. They do free basic brekky of bread, crepe and jams or you can buy something from the menu In the dorm, the beds are clean and comfy enough and the fans are great...

El Jardin de Frida was exactly what I was looking for in Tulum - peaceful, clean, and colorful, a place where I felt truly welcomed and calm. I stayed in both the 7 and 5 person dorm. Each dorm was well-maintained, and the bathrooms were very clean. The showers always had hot water. Even though it's right off of the...

I really enjoyed my time here and stayed in one of the private rooms. The garden is beautiful and a nice place to relax. Also, the staff was kind and informative. Our food at the hostel is was delicious and healthy. There was a free breakfast, however, if you eat as much as me you may still be hungry afterward....

I stayed here a couple nights with my husband at the beginning of the year and we absolutely loved it! Once you walk through the entrance and step inside, it truly is a little bohemian gem. Our check in was easy and quick. The gentlemen showed us around the property and then showed us to our room, El Cotorro, which...

The highlights of this hostel are the garden and breakfast. Both are absolutely divine. The living room reception area filled with comfy chairs and books is also a delight. The FREE breakfast is lovingly prepared, freshly made organic bread and crepes with home made jams is served outside or inside in the adjoining cafe where you can also purchase healthy...

This hostel is a must-stay if you're visiting Tulum! It has such a good vibe, the people make you feel so welcome and the decor is amazing - think bohemian jungle The beds and bathroom are super clean and the breakfast is really good - they're big on their healthy eating which I personally love The only downside is that,...

This hostel surpassed all our expectations, which were already high thanks to the reviews we read. Beds comfortable, amazing showers and best breakfasts we have had in a hostel. Only slight negative was the Mosquitos, that can't be helped by the people running it but just be aware you will need serious strength repellant at all times! Would certainly go...

We stayed in the suite (unexpectedly) due to a late booking and it was a lovely place, very relaxed and enjoyable. 100% the best part about the hostel is the food in the adjoining restaurant for your FREE breakfast. Home made jams, pancakes and home made bread with coffee. If you find a batter place in Mexico I'd like to...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
El Jardín de Frida is your home in Tulum, we're an Eco-Cultural Poshtel, full of magic, culture and art built around a beautiful botanical garden. The project is inspired not only in Frida Kahlo's amazing life, but also in Mexico's great culture, art and traditions, offering all that in your stay. We are located in Tulum's residential area, on the main avenue, 5 minutes away from downtown and the bus station. We cater to guests looking for a quiet and comfortable place to relax, surrounded by a beautiful lush tropical garden. Our garden is programed to help you heal and release any energy you no longer wish to carry with you. You will be surrounded by the beauty of nature... The singing of the birds in the morning will wake you up and the chirping of the crickets at night will accompany you in your dreams. In our beautiful botanical garden you will find different species of local trees and plants, like the sacred Mayan tree or the chicle (bubble gum) tree, amongst others. Here you can learn about our local flora and their uses. We also have a hammock site where you can lay down below bamboo trees, a great place to arrive and chill after a day of exploring the area. We are concerned not only in the quality of service but also in developing activities that benefit the planet. We offer you a good price, an excellent service and an unforgettable stay full of magic, nature and Mexican culture. Here you SLEEP, LEARN and HEAL. Welcome HOME! ... more   less

“There are two dorm rooms (as well as private rooms which I haven't experienced): La musica is smaller (only five beds) but has fewer windows so the air circulation is worse. La palma is larger (eight beds, so more people, less privacy, more potential snorers) but has great windows and two bathrooms.”
